  1. 7/15/97 Digest.
  2. A July 1997 Digest mentions rumors of Rex Smith joining AW. They say he is too old for Matt and wonder who he would play. I wish he'd been cast, possibly as someone like Jamie.

  4. Years ago, before I ever saw any Edge of Night, I read the Edge of Night homepage, again and agin. I was fascinated by a section in Raven's profile where she talked about how she'd named herself Raven. This episode has the scene. Was Raven always supposed to only be gone for a short time or was this supposed to be a permanent exit? The music in the scene seems like a goodbye. Beautiful, beautiful music. So was this Mandel Kramer's last episode? Quite a momentous episode in several ways.
  5. I wonder if she met Doug Marland at this time.
  6. Too bad they couldn't bring Martha back as Sandy, at least as a way to introduce some other Horton relatives. She could just return briefly with a child or grandchild. What were the results of Smith's lawsuits against DAYS? Were they thrown out?
  7. I would guess the main bulk was Iris' return, and Matt finding out about the origin of his conception.
  8. Thanks for all this detail. When I read that Fowkes was cast in the role I did wonder if he could play a dark role. It sounds like a very grotty and downbeat story. This is the type which make viewers leave and not come back. Shaw was the guy who went on to write the Ice Princess story at GH, wasn't he?
  9. It's an odd headline, since AMC didn't ever challenge Cliff's paternity, did they? I'm kind of surprised they had the baby as his, instead of giving Cliff and Nina a clean break. They are very blue. I wonder if the magazine retouched or if that's just how it was. I remember their first cover was very purple, or pinkish purple, which Bergman later said he disliked.
  10. Digest photos of their SOAPY Award winners at GH's peak of popularity (1981). Do you think they should have kept Alexandra around?
  11. January 1982 Digest. How to get Colleen Zenk's hair.
  12. It came from reading old magazines. A while back, quite a few years it seems like, I saw one or two episodes on tape around the time Susan's Pat was losing her mind due to her abortion.
  13. I don't think they would ever recast Kay long-term.
  14. I'd forgotten about that. I guess they were ahead of their time.
  15. If Katharine had an autobiography they'd have to make it choose your own adventure.
  16. Thanks. From what has been said in the soap books, Search was always more wedded to humor than the other soaps. It's odd because, aside from a few fun moments with Jo and Stu, I've rarely seen any of this. I know Marge and Stu were a popular, comic couple, but all I've seen of them has been drama. I do remember from the episodes you shared with us that Stephanie had a naughty type of humor. I guess that was a reason for her popularity.
  17. I have seen a little of Susan Trustman as Pat, but I sometimes wonder how much of an impact she must have made to AW viewers at the time - she left somewhere around 1967 and yet up to the mid-70s people would write into magazines and ask where she was and if she was coming back.
