  1. At least Denise will have more to do this year.
  2. I think it's within guidelines. I am one of the few who don't have Facebook... I never know what most of the actors do after the show ends. Did you ever meet any of the writers or producers of the show?
  3. That must have been difficult, just losing your father. Maybe the acting it out helped. Apparently the man who played Russ is a big TV producer in South Africa now. I never knew if the Cummings family just left town or if they were dropped without mention.
  4. That article makes me sad I wonder if they may have ever considered writing Gibson's weight into the story, like they did with Traci.
  5. Very stylish photos, especially the first.
  6. Did you hear that Barbara Windsor said Pam hadn't known Pat was going to be killed off? I guess she just accepted it. Still, it makes me sad that they would kill her off if there was any chance Pat might ever return. Or even if she didn't return.
  7. I was surprised when I learned it was #1, I guess because it's not one you usually hear when there are any features on Madonna or her career. I think her ballads are her strongest feature as an artist. It's a shame ballads are mostly remembered for people who oversing everything. With Autotune frenzy I now appreciate more and more that Madonna sang these emotional songs in her own voice.
  8. This song means a little more to me each year. Too bad it's one of Madonna's less remembered songs (apparently she never sings it - does she regret it?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQsooCyjcv4
  9. Carrington and Marcy are so believable as sisters. I think that the people doing Santa Barbara at the end must have just seen it as a brand new show. Even the Dobsons seemed to feel that way when they returned.
  10. It certainly would have been a very different type of story for soaps, especially since I think Lauren might have had a very ugly reaction.
  11. Do you think her weight problems were that noticeable? Or was that just some excuse?
  12. DeeeDee, what did you think of Amy/Alana?
  13. It does seem like a nice idea - perhaps not suited to the characters involved, who were already saccharine. There seemed to be a lot of hooting over the stuff with Cricket and Jessica singing "You and Me Against the World."
  14. I wonder if they already had an idea that they were firing Donald May, and Maeve Maguire was leaving (I've never been sure if that was her choice). Since Adam was killed off not even a year after Brandy left, and Nicole was put into a very different story and character group, I wish they'd kept Brandy and done something with her. What about going forward with Brandy/Draper? I can also imagine her giving Raven a righteous slap.

  16. The Angel Square was generally praised mostly for Kamar (better here than later on but I never "got" him). I do think it was a nice idea and I liked the community atmosphere but I think it was grafted on and I think the crooked cop frames poor Andy story was a big bust. I would have kept him around and gotten Andy off the force - I don't know, have her go back to Rodi's, whatever. The biggest problem with 96-97 was lack of identity and incredibly generic writing that seems to bathe in cliches - for instance, in this episode, the paralysis saga, and Antonio getting a "feeling" when Andy was in trouble. The pieces were still there for greatness, until JFP turned it in to her own playpen. I also have to complain again about the show choosing Joey/Kelly (and Dorian scheming against them) over Joey/Dorian. The stuff in this episode is a great example of how wasted Fillion was.
  17. 2/23/88 Digest. It's interesting to hear Dixie Carter talk about why she left. I had no idea they were making Brandy crazy. Do any of you remember those scenes? Do you think she was right to protest?
  18. This interview with Alana Gibson talks about her being fired from Y&R due to her weight, in spite of her work being acclaimed. What did you think of Alana? Do you know what stories Bell had planned for her?
  19. I love love love the B&B Christmas promo at the start of this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCLGxP60x5g&lc=iY3pa6bNPWK1R7YpROwDGfjMnKWm_QOZTZSaSbIJu3I&feature=inbox

  21. An episode from the...unforgettable year of 1996. Watch Andy get menaced by the Dead End Kids, marvel at the supercouple that was Joey/Kelly, and wonder why Patrick is reading a sparkly pink diary. Best line - Clint: You didn't come over here to talk about the hair I don't have on my face. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gxr3jRO1KRs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=il_w3uhJruE&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL
  22. A prime example of the "fair and balanced" media - AKA, if Republicans made a mistake, then Democrats must have too. http://www.washingto...2011/worst.html It's just so hilariously random, as if they were panicking at not being "Democrats are bad too" enough, so they had to throw in there that people who wanted to help stop deep cuts in Planned Parenthood were "scoring points." Not a big shock from beltway Washington Post.
