Gingrich won the South Carolina primary. This had been forecast as a tight race, but Gingrich won in a blowout. Overall I think this is good for Republicans - it keeps the story on their party and adds excitement, it toughens Romney up. This is a fascinating take on the result, although the bewildering idea that the GOP is waiting for someone to jump in or that Mitch Daniels - who is disliked by many in the part for his comments about a "truce" on social issues and is mostly just known as a forgettable governor - is going to somehow show Romney up by giving the State of the Union response. Thanks. It's too bad the show bungled Bo/Carly in 2010. This is a good montage. I wish they'd have some scenes with Julie and Marlena again. I'm sure Marlena would be interested in this dull Alice's secret story, and while I'm sure budgets are tight, having more of Julie and less of Bo and Hope talking about nothing might be interesting. It feels like they only use characters like Doug and Julie if they feel they have to - it's such a waste. Then again, watch them make Julie Daniel's mother.

I saw Joan again a little while ago. Joan's not going to go down without a fight. Can't you see Joan as Helen Marsh - imagine the power of those performances. I do like that shot of Gloria. It reminds me of T'Pau or one of those other 80's offbeat pop groups.

Is the Gloria avatar already gone I was hoping this was the start of something new and wonderful, and we'd see Teresa Blake on Prospect Park.
