  1. Yeah, I'm not sure I would have been rooting for Bobbie either (although her bitchiness is a lot of fun). There's just something so immature about Laura. She reminds me of Lily on ATWT. I think of all Marland's young ingenues the one I liked best was Morgan on GL. From what I've seen, she does grow up over the next few years, but it's unfortunate that this came after a rape.
  2. If I was watching GH back around the time of the Bobbie/Laura rivalry I don't think I could have rooted for Laura. She just seems whiny and insufferable.
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJkZggqPydU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFdiWJu3SXU&feature=channel&list=UL I'm not sure if any soap story about super secret vaccines or formulas have ever worked. Who is that woman with Keith in the June clip?
  4. Tika Sumpter gets fugged. http://gofugyourself.com/fugka-sumpter-04-2012
  5. Heather Wilson, long lauded by the Beltway and "liberal" media as a moderate, is now criticizing anti-bullying legislation, saying that bullying is just "teasing." http://thinkprogress...ully/?mobile=nc Funny how she is horrified at what Janet Jackson's nipple will do to children, but has zero problem with the torment which drives many, many kids to suicide. Hmm... http://thenewcivilri...012/04/19/38242 She did not even have a word to say about a vicious hate crime.. How moderate of her. This is the type of thing which always makes me laugh at the idea of how very, very tolerant today's GOP is and how it's all about fiscal issues.
  6. She looks a little like Donna Pescow.

I think she did kill him, yes. What was her exit? I know she was in some schemes, and she left on a plane, but don't know the rest. I think they should have kept people like Farrow and Nadipha, instead of clearing them out. I think the woman who played Maggie quit because of a contract issue.

I think Dusty left on her own. I'm not sure. Steve got married (South Africa's first TV gay wedding) and moved away with his partner. How long has Lolly been around, exactly? It seems like quite a while. Did Len ever actually have relationships with any men, or is this just something which was said? Now that they have looped back I am reminded of what a strong presence Ashley Callie had. I can't imagine how fans felt when she died. The only downside of looping back is the incredibly depressing story about Farrow and her brother. I really like Farrow a lot. I don't understand why the show fired her. She's the perfect soap character.
  9. I'd be most interested in 1990-1991, first.
  10. November 1973 Afternoon TV
  11. November 1973 Afternoon TV. This was from their awards ceremony. I like this, as it is passing the torch, basically (I think Irna died not long after this).
  12. It could still happen today, as our savior Ron repeatedly rewrote a sexual assault viewers saw happen, and sadly, many viewers likely always believe that a woman asks to be raped. But I think that Luke and Laura were a very unique pairing and I don't think it could work in most circumstances.
  13. Laura went to the hospital, was treated as being raped, and went to counseling sessions. Over time, and much to Genie Francis' upset, the show decided that Laura would tell Luke that she had wanted to have sex with him, that it was a seduction. I think Scotty became the villain as he freaked out over the rape, but I don't know. There are clips of the aftermath on Youtube. Some are easy to find. Others are more difficult. This is the first of those. These clips also include a moving scene with Laura and Jessie right after the rape. Today, Jessie would just call her a dirty whore and Laura would develop a funny alter personality. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qedbdSo2V0
  14. I think some of that was before Guza came back. I got the feeling that after her work flopped and Guza/Frons/Pratt came in, she was pushed more aside. Off topic, but I really did not like Roy/Bobbie. I never would have guessed A Martinez was very good on Santa Barbara considering the energy drain he was on GH.
  15. I don't think JFP really cared - she probably just focused on the visuals. I thought Guza's worst was still on display with Riche; her version was a little more restrained, but all that seemed to mean was huge energy chasms as we yet again watched Jason remind everyone that Michael was the specialist angel in the world.
  16. Thanks. I don't remember reading that.
  17. Did Maxwell stay in the role?
  18. That's great.
  19. I'd really love to see the episodes right before Irna came back and then after she came back, and how noticeable the changes were immediately. She had Lisa's phantom pregnancy, Lisa/Don, Paul's death, Liz's death, Susan leaving town, Dan leaving town, Bob married Jennifer, Kim's arrival, Kim/Bob, Carol's return, Tom married Carol. I'd also love to know what it was like for Lisa at that time. The stories kind of sound like they did not know what to do with her. Was this also when she was in love with a minister or Jerry Lacy or something?
  20. Who was this Paul Roberts? I don't remember hearing him mentioned as ATWT's headwriter. I read in Schemering's book that Edith was so popular with viewers, Warrick made return appearances, but I had never heard any details on any. I wonder if that was her last.
  21. "hypo" is such an odd way to put it. Too bad Coster didn't stay around long.
  22. I'm surprised they didn't cast Melchior, as she sort of fit their type of actress.
  23. I never knew it did that well. I think the show was on its last legs in primetime by this point (was it even in new episodes by this time?).
