Hard to believe 1994 was so dull that was the type of promo they were running...- One Life to Live Tribute Thread
I wonder if they were thinking of pairing Karen and Marco up romantically at this point. John Amos was playing Ed Hall, right? Why do they have Ed Hall going on about Rafe "protecting his rich friends"?- All My Children Tribute Thread

Looks like Michael Palance has his own Youtube channel. There are a few clips and promos I've never seen before.- All My Children Tribute Thread

Thanks! I always enjoy watching JLB as Lorie because while she was a very melodramatic actress, she seemed to get the emotional beats and the heart too. She does just as well in the quieter, supporting moments with Peggy as she does in those wild voiceovers and that confrontation with Jennifer (which is riveting to watch). The scene with Jennifer is just so good. I love so many of those lines, which are so rich and histrionic and Bill Bell, like how they always said she was so different from her sisters, the "which father?", that Jennifer took her father from her, etc. I eat stuff like this up. It's absolutely pure melodramatic glory, which no one in daytime gets now. It's about emotional connection and heart along with camp, not just some generic car crash or shooting. JLB often reminds me of MTS in her acting style in this era. I can see why MTS took over for her.- HBO: Game of Thrones
Ugh. I guess some of the people who insist Bran is boring and pointless will be happy. Bran was always one of my favorites. This year seems like it will have so many changes, and after the way they handled some of the King's Landing and Arya material this season, I'm not sure how much I am interested in any of that. I guess I will mostly just hope they get the Theon, Stannis/Mel/Davos, Jon, Sansa stuff right, as that's the main reason I'm still watching.- Ryan's Hope Discussion Thread
I think they may have even lived together at one time, that she was the first woman who helped him see he should find love, etc. I think they had a flashback scene.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Beau was an interesting addition to the show. Neil Maffin wasn't a bad actor, and while the angsty folksy/pop singer is a cliche, he was at least different from the other young guys on the show at the time. I also liked his relationship with Pam, who was a believable, sympathetic, intelligent heroine. I think because of the strike or the change in producers he got lost in the shuffle, and he had that strange exit where he sort of got involved with Nella Franklin and they left town together, but not romantically? I wonder if they cut him because they thought Duke was that "type" and they didn't need another.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Laura was saved from an attacker in the park or something, and she went to work as Christopher's nanny. The original story had her falling for Tom, but during the strike she fell for Bob. She also seduced her and Kim's boss at WOAK, in bizarre, noir-esque scenes like inviting him over to her motel room and shocking him when she "accidentally" opened the door while wearing her bra. After Bob rejected her and Kim saw through her, she held broken glass or a knife to her throat or something, and the authorities took her away. They found her boss dead in her shower at the motel room. She was taken away for treatment. Beau and the rest of Oakdale learned that she'd been sexually abused by their father. No one in Oakdale knew that Beau was her brother until the end of the story. She'd asked him to keep quiet. The story was panned as one of the worst of the year by SOD, and was so clearly strike material. I do think there were some good moments here and there. This episode has the climax. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dANcfPQd9Ms- DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
Thanks for sharing that. I really love their relationship - it's so sweet. Hey let's just go in the car and see the country. And they do. You can't ask for anything better in a relationship with a partner or spouse. I don't blame Susan for not wanting fan hate but I hope they keep Julie with an edge.- German soaps: GZSZ, UU & AWZ

Bridget's only story in her last story on the show had been obsessing over Hart and degrading herself to win him over. She was the "bad" to Dinah's "good." Another reason I stopped watching the show in 1996. By the time Rauch came in her only story was refurbishing Company and renaming it "Co." (which didn't last long...) I do wish he'd let her have more of an exit. I actually liked her return at the end. I wish they'd let her interact with Dylan, or had a little scene with the Bauers, but there really wasn't a reason to bring her back so it was obviously just done as a nice goodbye for the fans. I appreciated it.- Ryan's Hope Discussion Thread
The Jack/Jill fan in me smiled at this ridiculous and pointless cut to make it look like he was trying to get into her pants.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread

It was Nancy bashing, as I have always, always hated her, and I find the remark the writers gave her to be borderline homophobic (but this show has a host of anti-gay writing choices), but I don't have a right to comment if I don't watch on a regular basis, and I know everyone else who watches the show loves her.- DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
