  2. So have I. Doctor Who Magazine is having one of their top episode fan poll issues. It's done differently than last time (last time they ranked every story). This time they have a top 20 for each decade, with comments on the top 10 for each decade. If anyone wants to know what the fan choices were, let me know and I'll tell you.
  3. Absolutely. It's just that without him and Cat I feel like the heart of the Starks, and therefore a basic tenet of the show, is gone. It's really just Jon know, and I am a big fan of Jon's (I think he and Kit get a lot of crap), I still miss Robb.

It didn't seem bad to me. In many ways it was ahead of its time.
  5. I think Frank just left town quietly. I can't remember. They had no plans to write him out, but the actor was dying of AIDS. The main reason they got rid of Lynne Moody was her complaining about the show dropping the story they had planned for Pat and Gary. I did like the story with Julie and Jason. I thought dropping it was a mistake. If there was a weak spot in the show at that time it was everything with Claudia and Kate, and of course TIDAL ENERGY!!! They made a mistake in making Olivia so self-righteous and whiny. She should have been a strong heroine or a bitch.
  6. You may be right. I always thought they at least saw each other somewhat as siblings based on how Jill was with him and after he died. Knots wasted a lot of characters in the late 80s. Jill, Frank's wife, Olivia, just for starters.
  7. I miss him too. For me he and Cat were the emotional core of the show. I'm dreading and looking forward to the Red Wedding in the books...on the show, Catelyn's death broke my heart, but the execution (no pun intended) wasn't the best for me because of the way they handled the Talisa death scenes. It felt fake. On the other hand, I was more moved by Ned's death on the show than reading it in the book, I guess because there wasn't one set POV on the show. I always try to find good profile photos of Theon and Robb because I think they're both so stunning and it's hard to find good icons of them (even harder to find one of Catelyn). I really liked this one, so I'm glad you do too.
  8. The end of the story was an anticlimax, so yes, they should have done more with her. I know there was some spec about whether her exit was due to her real life relationship with Ted Shackleford.
  9. Another casting rumor. http://winteriscoming.net/2014/07/12/keisha-castle-hughes-rumored-joining-game-thrones/
  10. It was a scam. I think Peter and Jill may have been siblings by adoption but I can't remember. Maybe not. Peter and Abby did have an affair. That was the last straw in her marriage to Gary. He caught them in bed, I believe, and casually said he wanted a divorce. The story was confusing, one of those umbrella stories which didn't quite work. I did like Ruth Roman. The best part of Peter Hollister by far was drunk Jill hitting Paige with the urn of his ashes.
  11. A teen music show from 1966 has been found, which includes a behind the scenes featuring on the making of Peter Cushin's second Dalek movie. http://www.starburstmagazine.com/tv-news/2681-tv-news-more-missing-doctor-who-footage-found
  12. Loretta Fowler? I liked her. I was disappointed they didn't ever have her come back.
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq2d4Rs6xIE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01a9LTAW_o4 They also put up several 1996 episodes.
  14. Writer Andrew Davies (House of Cards, A Very Peculiar Practice, etc.) has no time for DTC's pets. http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-07-11/andrew-davies-on-eastenders-mick-carter-is-a-boring-dad-and-his-wife-is-a-pain-in-the
  15. The Gary/Lucy incest storyline...banned by the BBC and only aired in the UK years later. Lucy's a little whiny/not the best actress, but I like her - she's full of fire. They should bring Gary back. Seeing Paul with his grandmother makes me feel a little sad. The slap at the end is hilarious.
  16. Fox News fans support transgender rights...much to the bafflement of Fox News host who'd expected them to go wild. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/fox-transgender-bathrooms-outrage
  17. That comment is very rude, but to the fans who have been waiting almost 20 years for answers to basic questions, hearing a writer say they just don't have time because they only write under very specific conditions and they have so much else going on in their career - I can see why that stings. The books and the TV shows have also become very separate entities, so people who don't care about the show must be doubly annoyed. That doesn't excuse endless, gruesome speculation over GRRM's health, and I can see why that angers him, but I don't think it's just that fans are ungrateful or callous.
  18. I didn't even see her name on the list. I think she deserved a nomination just based on performance. She was barely in this season, but she did some great work. I loved her scene with Margaery where she spoke about her late husband. She thought he was an idiot, but she loved him.
  19. Game of Thrones got 19 Emmy nominations. I'm sorry that more of the cast didn't get recognition, but I'm glad Lena Headey got one (this is her first I believe). And Peter Dinklage, who's won before, but has a decent chance this year (him or Aaron Paul). http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/tv/la-et-st-emmy-nominations-2014-list-story.html#page=1
  20. Thanks, marceline. I've always had a soft spot for Stacey Dash, all the way back to Clueless, so seeing her on Fox News talking about how she's happy that her 11 year old calls Obama a "golem" makes me kind of sad. Whatever pays the bills, I guess.
