Mulcahey? I really agreed with a lot of your points about the 90-minute format and how the problems clearly started before that and were just exacerbated. It doesn't help that by the time of the expansion, the show was already running low on interesting core characters and was struggling to create new ones.

Artsy-type episode devoted to flashing back to the David/Nina saga, while Nina is in jail awaiting her verdict. I'm not sure this has ever been uploaded? I never realized David sang to her...she's so embarrassed. He's like an evil Lance Prentiss. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKwLPfd2v9M&list=UUMzfXBdkJBnz14rGTDBnVDw

Was it Douglas Anderson?

I liked her too. She was almost the same age as Kevin Conroy (Jerry), which is typical soap, I guess.

AWHP has the 1979 discs available for download now. They have, I think, one more full 90 minute episode, and some clips. The bits we get to see of Janice/Rachel/Mac/Mitch are what work best for me. Some good stuff there. They aren't available right now but should be again soon, I presume. http://www.gta.igs.net/~awhp/awvl.html

Oh my. I think you may enjoy the material most with Pat, Blaine, and Cecile. That's really what gets me through this period of time.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
The whole story with Sharon was sold as being about her but mostly seems like a con so that people will once again see how much they should love Shirley and Phil and their tragic dysfunctional beauty, which DTC was also heavily pushing the last time he was at the show. And just like that time, no one cares. Just as no one cares about Shirley as Mick's long-suffering mother. If not for the PR push of "Eastenders is back!" and DS posters always needing heroes and villains to make themselves feel important, fans would call this out for what it is - empty trash for someone with no attention span. It says it all that you go to DS and you see threads like "100 things Stuart Blackburn has done wrong!" "100 things Bryan Kirkwood has done wrong!" "100 things DTC has done right!" They care about their little scorecards, not about the soaps.

Thanks. I'd never seen that. It's hard to find anything from that show. I wonder what that story was about.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
There was no point to his return or any of this material. It's just more shock value for a flop, miscast family, and a weak attempt to show us that Mick is good because Dean is bad. Matt di Angelo could never act but at least he was hot and has a nice ass. That's more than I can say for most of the men on this crapfest.

That's interesting. I'd forgotten about the connection until now. She looks a little old for Brooke but she's not a bad fit.

GH: Classic Thread
Justus killed him and let Laura take the wrap. He defended her and made sure she was acquitted. He kept quiet for a few years until after being blackmailed by Taggert or the mob or someone, he turned himself in. They mangled what should have been a decent story with poor wrapup and a poor recast.

What do you think of this material when you see it again, DeeeDee? Didn't JLB say in an interview that she had a breakdown filming some of the Stuart stuff or it brought back memories? I can't remember. I wish they'd done more with Lucas...I think he could have fit into the new era of the show.

Those awful returns where Julia and Lorie had to tell us how they'd loved Victor all along were such huge sops to Braeden's ego. I resented them then and they helped me decide to stop watching the show even sporadically for a very long time. What a huge waste and pollution of history.

Thanks for the article. This is timely, as Tom King wrote or co-write the episodes that are being posted here. I wonder if he was ever interviewed about this period of time.

I think someone asked about this one a few years back. It's finally up. Watch while you can. Cat Hickland as Brooke Logan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPZQVllXehQ&list=UU5_zkWVlDr_tHcGmoTso2kQ

I didn't mean to be flip. Sorry. There are channels like that for men too - Jamie in bondage clips were all over one channel (I guess Richard Bekins was just that sexy...), and some young guy from Emmerdale popped up in one too.

Those types of channels are the only places I've seen some Loving and AW clips. It's always kind of weird when you find such rare clips in such a place. Women in fur is another like that.

I read some of that. How tacky to keep mentioning God when you're whining about how you can't marry your mistress because the pressure is just so tough. Gerrymandering has meant that clowns keep getting put back in. It's disgusting. Like this horrible person. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_DesJarlais
