Oakdalian posted this material a few years ago, but this has a few more scenes - a scene at the start of the first video and some extended stuff on the second. As a fan of this Paul and Emily, I'm so glad I got to see the full version of their final scenes. It's nice closure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuEHbS74V7k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cRN97hBvfU

Does prison let you film visits? I'm trying to remember if we saw Lauri with her son when he was in prison.

I think it made sense for Lucinda's story. Lucinda lost everything - her husband, soon her company, and her daughter (to Holden), so we could see her build herself back up and question who she was. Unfortunately there was no story for John. Other than his relationship with Iva (did anyone care?), he had little to do for years. I remember a fan who used to say Marland had many strengths at ATWT but they could never fully accept him because John was one of their favorites and Marland never got John and instead made John dull and superfluous. I do think he gave John some decent stuff at times, but as odd as it is, John is one of the very few characters who actually got better material post-Marland (his cancer, the lawsuit story with Lisa, his revenge on Lisa), than he did with Marland.

Ted, Luke, Bart (was that his name?). I think three of his lovers/wives died (Luke, Ted, Claudia). Can't remember how many died for Fallon or Adam or Amanda. This must really read as boring... I sometimes wonder, given Billy Campbell's obvious appeal, if he'd been kept around longer, what would have happened. I'm sure he would have been popular with viewers. They probably would have magically turned Luke bisexual. Still, a scenario where he became close to Blake, like a son, and both Steven and Adam were resentful about it and Adam was all, "Now you know how it feels," and Steven is all, "What do you mean, idiot? He never liked me either," and they melodramatically brawl and then plot with Alexis to overthrow Blake while Luke sided with Krystal and Blake and Dominique and whoever else - I would have been entertained.

I was talking to someone and they said that the show probably was in color starting in summer 1966. They also suggested there are more episodes from before this point that exist. I can see why Retro TV chose to start around this time, but I hope the people who have the rights might consider putting some of the earlier material out, like Dan Curtis Productions did with Dark Shadows pre-Barnabas material eventually.

And then of course he and Ali McGraw bit the dust. I wonder if Steven's lovers had a higher mortality rate than the other Carrington kids.

I doubt it. I think they just went for something of a name, one who was in the age range. It's too bad. He brought little to the role.- Dynasty Discussion Thread
He did an interview with one of the soap magazines at the time...I have one somewhere. I guess he must have been OK with the role. It never amounted to much did it?- Dynasty Discussion Thread
There was a lot of negative talk against Al Corley and PSM for leaving a hot property (and I realize with PSM it was also due to some in the industry likely not caring for her attitude/behavior/what have you, not just her leaving Dynasty), but I tend to think they made the right decision. The show had no idea what to do with Steven or with Fallon after the first few seasons. Emma Samms only had good material in her last season, and while a part of me wishes PSM had been there for that, it wasn't worth the 3-4 years of absolute trash Emma had to play. I guess you could say that Heather Locklear stuck it out (while doing other properties) and earned a lengthy career in the industry, but she may have been an exception to the rule. I thought Claudia was an interesting character. I liked that she looked like the average woman compared to some of the others, and that she had all these longstanding neuroses which were consistent on a very inconsistent show. I liked that she was fragile and not able to just be written via catfight and dramatic exit from a room. I even liked her opening credits scene. Steven angrily undoing his tie is the one that always got on my nerves.- All My Children Tribute Thread
I'm not sure how much of it is online. Here's a clip. I guess Susan had experience at playing teenagers at an older age... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6zE9y6cThA- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
He was brought up. Perhaps not all that much, but he was. Kim angrily tells Bob that Susan slept with him to get back at her for Dan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8f29FfY-RlI I do wish they'd brought him up more often, but if he wasn't brought up more often it may have been down to ATWT getting many new viewers in the preceding decade who had little idea who he was, and their wanting to make sure viewers didn't see Susan as some type of homewrecker bent on ruining Kim's life.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I imagine it took several years. Even in the 1979 clips that are on Youtube, he still seems to carry something of a torch for her, underneath his control issues and passive-aggressiveness. I think it wasn't until Dee that he really moved on. I've never known if Maggie was gone before Marland took over or if he wrote her out. I do agree that Diana would have been a dynamic character for him, and while Karen was much tougher than his type of woman, and he may have written her as more zany (like Shannon), I wish we'd seen a little of her with him too. I think Ariel should have returned after James was "killed" in 1989. I mean yes, she was campy, but considering how he wrote James' mother, clearly he didn't mind some camp in that material.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread
Many people likely were not watching a soap at this point, or were watching another soap, or were too young, or may not have even been born. That's just life. I like that people come into the thread and ask questions. There's nothing else to talk about anyway. Don Stewart ad. I never knew he did these.- Dynasty Discussion Thread

It's a twofer with deadly dull Tamzin Outhwaite. She intros the BBC programming for the day of Who Shot Phil? A promo I'd never seen before, from around the time Mel was kidnapped by Dan. I didn't realize they were already doing these artsy-fartsy promos.- Santa Barbara Discussion Thread
It's nice to see you posting here again. I have a Lane Davies 1994 SPW interview, although you probably already have seen it.- The Doctors Discussion Thread
Just wanted to say I wasn't trying to scare anybody. I do hope we can still talk about these episodes and more will be uploaded as they go along. I'm so glad we'll get to see these, especially that episode before the one uploaded on Monday. I never thought I'd get to see any of this. I thought they'd just be a bad taunting memory of Hallmark yesteryear. It's just so good to get to see something from this era beyond DS, Strange Paradise, and grainy copies.- Santa Barbara Discussion Thread

Just to be safe, do you think we could delete the link? The person who is uploading them wants to keep it private.- Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
I've been watching Edge episodes with my mother sometimes and we're into summer 1980 (not long before "Kirk" is revealed to April and everyone else), and there really is a big change when Jody and Gavin come in. I think they did a good job of integrating Kelly into the canvas (even if he's dull/weird), but Jody and especially Gavin feel more grafted on. I can't help wondering how fans at the time felt about suddenly seeing a dance studio dropped in from the sky 2-3 days a week, with some extra who looks like Raven's frumpier sister. I did love this at 11 minutes. "The Three Musketeers" were dead and buried by this point and Calvin barely interacted with anyone, so using him to help tie in the new characters was a nice touch:- The Doctors Discussion Thread
You were right about Matt laying into Nick being the second one. There was a paragraph break that didn't show up.- The Doctors Discussion Thread
The synopsis person also said the episodes are December 4-8, 11, 1967. - All My Children Tribute Thread
