Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I actually like Kim's outfit, although the clothes combined with the terrified/stoned look on her face makes her look like someone Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda hooked up with in Easy Rider. Yolanda's dress is too tight. Kyle...is missing a Whitesnake video somewhere. I like Lisa's coat a lot.

Santa Barbara ad at 1:49. This also has Marcy Walker's best "death" win, although that's already on Youtube.

Twin Peaks
Technically, they don't have to have anyone but Dale, the Log Lady, and the Palmers. It's just that when we learned more people were being asked back, that's when I started thinking, "Is Bobby going to be there?" If James or Michael Horse or Norma and Ed are going to be there, then yes, it will bother me if Bobby isn't there, mostly because I just don't think you can understand Laura half as well without Bobby, and also because he was an awesome character.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I don't think she does herself a lot of favors on most of her shows. She came across poorly on her first show (Martha Stewart Apprentice), she came across very poorly on her talk show, she seemed to lose a lot of fans on that Bethenny show. She didn't handle the press over her divorce all that well either. I wonder if she regrets leaving RHONY. That seems to have been what made her work.

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
How many people have died because of Tyreese? I can't think of that many. There's a chance some of the group will die, but he wasn't the one who told them to let the Terminus people go. I have a feeling Bob was already bitten, although if not then part of that will be on Tyreese. I don't think Tyreese is there for humanity (I think that's Glenn's role) as much as he's there to show fear and reluctance. It can be annoying and repetitive to watch, but I think part of it is down to Tyreese's role in the comics already being taken by other characters. They've had to adapt or try to make the character his own. I think they've tried to subvert the role as a result, because there are already so many men on the show who are killing machines, but it doesn't always work. I don't mind the scenes where he kills walkers offcamera because they're more about suspense than about him being a bad-ass, but I hope they won't do anymore.

Co-head of the RNC calls Wisconsin voters idiots. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/rnc-co-chair-wisconsin-voters-not-sharp Good thing she's a Republican. If she was a Democrat the media would have gone hogwild demanding every Democrat down to dog catcher respond to her remarks.

Thanks. She got the Edge story wrong, but that's not a big deal.

Twin Peaks
I didn't realize they almost did that with Audrey and Cooper. They narrowly avoided a lot of things with Cooper that would have been a mistake, I guess (a triangle with Harry would have been awful - the purity of their relationship was one of the best parts of the show, especially early on).

Twin Peaks
I meant the amnesia story, not her story as a whole. I thought it worked very well in season 1 and up to the point in season 2 where she woke up (and Ed had had that beautiful monologue about the night he'd accidentally shot her). After that it just seemed forced and off in tone, and I thought the relationship between Norma and Ed, which had been oddly pure and full of old Hollywood longing, just became another quasi-affair. I especially struggled with the scene where Nadine caught them in bed together - it was so disrespectful to them as characters (to Ed and Norma I mean) and was just comedy tropes not worthy of the show. I thought toward the end of season 2 Nadine's regression finally started to work for her as a character, and I began to care about her dogged, sad attempts at finding her own identity, even as she clearly still loved Ed. I liked that she was trying to make it work with Mike, even though it was a ridiculous fantasy for them both. That's why her getting her memory back felt like a cheat to me, somehow.

House Jameson looks like Victor Garber. amybrickwallace sent me this a few days ago. My e-mail is so slow I just saw it. I have screencaps from the segment of the 1999 Daytime Emmys where the 25th anniversary of the inception of the Best Actor and Best Actress awards. Many of the past winners were in attendance that night. Here are the screencaps of Liz Hubbard and James Pritchett. He was absent at the 1999 ceremony, but Liz Hubbard was there.

Louise looks so young there. Maree Cheatham is so dramatic even in that cast photo. I love it.

Twin Peaks
I don't think Bobby did anywhere close to what Leo did. Bobby was a dumb kid who was trying to be a man, or his idea of a man, and Shelly was hurt in the process. I think she deserved better than Bobby, or at least what Bobby was at that time, but I also think the fun, innocent flirtation with Gordon was much different than the reality of a man who works around the clock and has an opaque personality. Nadine's story just demeaned and cheapened everyone involved, and they had no idea how to play it. I thought the Norma/Ed relationship was especially cheapened. Martha Robie did a good job with what she had, and by the end, I did begin to care more about Nadine as she tried to move on with her life while still clearly being in love with Ed. Then they pulled the rug out, and I was so sick of the whole thing that what probably should have been a big moment - Nadine regaining her memory just as she and Mike and Norma and Ed were all going to be happy - felt gimmicky and made me feel strangely angry, the same way I felt about the Ben story and everything about him being Donna's father. I'm glad Lynch cut out most of the Window stuff. That article you showed me had someone saying the story with Norma's mother was just typical TV. That's how I feel about the Windom material.
