  1. Imagining Gail and Ken flustering in unison is a strange thought.
  2. I can't think of anyone other than Bev Unwin. Her exes are dead, as is her mother. I would say I wouldn't mind seeing Jackie Dobbs again. I think Anne was a very good actress who was unfortunately given a lot of limited writing in recent years. I was never a fan of Deirdre becoming a comedy character, or just Tracy's mother. I was never a fan of the Ken/Deirdre pairing - I think it hurt both characters. It benefited Ken more than Deirdre (Ken was seriously, seriously isolated before that pairing), but in the long run it hurt them both. I imagine Ken will just prop up the bar from now on, although I'd say they might as well just do something like pair him with Rita. Either that or bring back Stephanie Beacham - I thought they worked well together. I also think it wouldn't be a bad idea to have him buy into the cafe - he used to work well in there. And get that Anna's ungrateful ass out of there.
  3. Is it me or did Penny and Jeff have a super-heightened amount of drama by early soap couple standards? I'm surprised they didn't just have Penny have a breakdown after Jeff's death instead of giving her amnesia.
  4. Hi. I love your icon! One of my favorite soap scenes of all time. I still have more I want to post. I barely do these days. I guess I have more inspiration now.
  5. Anna Stuart said if the show hadn't been canceled, she wasn't going to renew her contract anyway. I just wish they'd put Donna and Matt back together at the end.
  6. This seems to be some knockoff of Punked (15 years later...), with Matthew Wolfenden and Natalie Anderson guest-starring. The end is pretty good, I have to admit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bK7aXL33uAE I was watching some of the stuff where Katie was in the mineshaft and actually did get caught up in it. What did you think of the Katie/Declan era, and Megan and all that? I know the Katie character got a ton of backlash.
  7. Ending Stefan/Bobbie brought both characters down, especially as I saw no chemistry between Genie and Stephen Nichols in their later, awkwardly written attempts at romance.
  8. Maureen Mooney. Thanks!
  9. Diana Rigg fans may enjoy this. A listener taped her 1970 Desert Island Discs appearance. The BBC has uploaded it to their archives. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p009ndj3
  10. Definitely. That's why I said cynical marketing. It would just be nice to see some of the old material given a new chance now that the industry might see it can make money.
  11. Given the cynicism of marketing, maybe someone can convince a company to buy it and bill it as Empire before there was an Empire.
  12. I hope if you go you tell us what you think of it.
  13. This is really interesting. He had a lot of projects that never finished or took forever to finish, didn't he? What did you think of their Touch of Evil remaster? This talks some about that Losing Ground movie I mentioned to you. http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/02/09/lost-found
  14. Thanks. Where did you get these?
  15. No missing episodes, sadly, but some lost Desert Island Disc recordings have been found, including Diana Rigg and the one and only William Hartnell. http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-01-31/doctor-who-star-william-hartnells-desert-island-discs-recording-found-by-the-bbc The excerpt of Bill's episode. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p009y3yj I wasn't expecting his voice to be so clear and strong. This is one of his few audio interviews available isn't it?
  16. You can find a lot of great info, and even some clips or films to watch, from the preservation project New Zealand had that resulted in the discovery of nearly 200 different American films. http://www.filmpreservation.org/preserved-films/lost-and-found-new-zealand
  17. I think he could have (I've never seen the show) with the right direction and material.
  18. That Aaron/Paddy scene was terrific all around (much better acting than I'd expected), but my favorite part was when Paddy mistakenly thought Aaron and his mystery man had had a threesome or an orgy ("we weren't alone" <Paddy is flustered> "Not like that, Paddy.") I watched a few times and laughed. Ryan Hawley interview. Bless him for his answer to the usual "what is it like to kiss a man and get cooties???" question. http://robertsugdenaaronlivesy.tumblr.com/post/109686559931/get-to-know-ryan-hawley-yesssss-interview-with
  19. With the incest plot maybe it was too hot to handle.
  20. Babelcolour, a very talented Youtuber who makes a lot of tribute videos for the show, felt reenergized by this past season and made a video in its honor.
  21. Thanks! So this wasn't far off from Carrie's arrival or Diane's murder. Busy few months.
  22. True. I do wonder. I guess maybe it could be spring? If I ever find any SOD synopses I have from that era I should check...
