  1. Maisie Williams AMA highlights. Spoilers. http://www.zap2it.com/blogs/maisie_williams_most_difficult_game_of_thrones_scene_coming_season_5-2015-01
  2. Some part of me still wishes they'd paired Denise with Audrey. I kind of want them to do that in the revival just to see Cooper/Audrey shippers melt down. I do plan to watch the videos at some point. I was just watching the first post-Leland episode with my father, and it's not as bad as I felt it was the first time around, although I'm never going to be able to fully support the mess with Nadine, or the two brothers we didn't know or care about bickering at Leland's funeral. My favorite scene is (and was the first time around) Norma telling her mother to get out. Beautifully acted in understated yet emotional ways by Peggy Lipton and Jane Greer (who look so much like mother and daughter). It's a shame that the Hank and ex-con husband stuff cheapens it, IMO. I just try to forget that subplot.
  3. I'm not sure what they were thinking here. I guess it's supposed to be a charming rogue standing up to Erica, but there's nothing all that charming about him. And sexually harassing multiple women isn't all that adorable. He just seems like a huge creep. And those pants are hideous.
  4. It was summer 1995 or fall 1995. They were also testing Felicia/Tony at the time. I got the feeling it went down like a lead balloon with viewers.
  5. I keep hearing people insist he must have raped her, or she was sober and he was drunk and he raped her without remembering, he tried to drug rape Stacey, etc. etc. People are really determined to put him in that role and I'd be surprised if DTC doesn't go along. I'm just sorry the Masoods will be tied to those losers. I can already imagine Shirley kidnapping the little girl and naming her Heather. Did anyone watch the cliffhanger special? Is it different from the one that aired for the 25th? Pam St. Clement says that she was lied to by Kirkwood and John Yorke. If that's true, it's just so wrong. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a625673/pam-st-clement-i-felt-let-down-by-eastenders.html
  6. Disgusting trash. http://www.soapoverdose.com/hollyoaks-overdose/john-paul-controversy
  7. Thanks. I never knew that. I have to watch those clips while they're still on Youtube... The kind person who uploaded these said his last appearance was 6/11/81.
  8. I read about it and it makes me wary that this story is again about a shocking "twist," for all of DTC's bleating about "justice." And the fans who keep insisting Dean must have raped Shabnam too and must have a long history of rape remind me of when DTC and Santer made sure Archie was also a serial rapist, even though this too was just for shock value and undercut the entire story they'd told with Archie and Ronnie. They're probably just doing this so Shabnam's long-lost daughter can magically arrive in Walford for Carter Karaoke Night, with Mick mushmouthing "Most Beautiful Girl in the World" as Shirley cries in the background.
  9. Thanks. I'm glad he's in there somewhere. And the "gold" quote is appropriate, as that's what his father said to him. (I hope somebody knifes that POS this season...) Ugh that song is like a parody.
  10. Ross hurts very deeply and doesn't let go (I think the only person he might forgive a deep hurt is Finn). That's why I think this story will end with Emma trying to kill Ross (again) or Ross murdering Emma - he's her weakness and he's very emotional and volatile. The scenes today where she ran rings around Pete to get him to want her to stay were very good. It was nice to get to see Anthony Quinlan get a chance to do more than bellow. Soaps needs a bit of intentional camp and "soapiness" (even if that word has been so abused and distorted in recent years) and Emma provides that. I just hope they won't go too far.
  11. I haven't seen those episodes but I think a few people have.
  12. I can't wait to see that! I loved her as Enid. I wonder if this was her first soap role.
  13. I realize nobody else cares, but on Emmerdale yesterday, one of my favorite characters, Robert Sugden, used Jon Snow as a codename for his rendezvous with a secret boyfriend. Robert is bi, and as I've always headcanoned Jon as bi, it made me smile. His fiancee asked if that made her his "wildling" (when he had to lie and say the room was for her), which...must have confused viewers who have never seen GoT.
  14. I remember how much Randy Brooks impressed me in that story. He and Amelia Marshall really stood out.
  15. Not that I remember, but I missed a lot. The last mention I've seen of him is in a November '81 episode when he's supposed to be taking Bert home.
  16. I'm glad to get confirmation Varys will be with Tyrion. I was afraid Varys would have ditched him and would be offscreen. They must have been afraid people thought Tyrion wouldn't be around because we must have seen him about 8 times in that promo. Dany's continued battles in Meereen look interesting. I like that they were so vague over most of what's going to happen. No Theon or most of Stannis' group (aside from a random shot of Melisandre getting naked) - not much of a surprise there, sadly, as those of us who watch for them are a vocal minority. I see they're continuing to use those terrible dirge covers of good pop songs. Not a fan.
  17. Ben gives Ross a beatdown, and Eve gets a beatdown from her doily! Dangerous times at the Copper Lantern. I guess this is more typical of the era but Katie and Hilary both seem a little blase about Andy being violent toward Katie. I love Vanessa but she's so artificially twee at this point it's amazing Ed didn't see through it. Steven Jackson! I wonder if this was his last appearance. Alan and Rita seem so oddly detached, especially since both of their marriages were blown up over this.
  18. She mentions it briefly in the third clip. This is one of the things Denise Pence was unhappy with as she thought it made Katie a miserable character. Andy was so ridiculously arrogant and nasty. In a way kind of a waste of a Norris. I'm glad they didn't go the same route with Ross, even if Jerry ver Dorn plays sleazy well (and I like his hair here...) I love the work from Geraldine Court (Jennifer) when she leaves Morgan's hospital room. Alan and Rita seem oddly chaste.
  19. Can anyone tell who is doing the VO for this episode? It's not the usual guy. Milette Alexander is such a great actress - I love Sara's shock when Nola says she's been lovers with Kelly for months. I like Hilary and Katie but I don't care for all the Nola focus. It's just repetitive and one-note. And it's distracting, because at this time Katie was with a man who beat her, yet she's still just given material talking about Nola. I can see why Denise Pence was not happy by this point.
  20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11v5bTW_JqM Was Eve trying for a Didi Conn lookalike contest? So Rita, like Morgan a year later, was undone by lying over stolen jewelry. I wonder if Marland was trying to warn ladies. Alan is terrible at hiding his affairs. Wow. He's lucky Diane was so in love with him she couldn't see the obvious. Why did she even think he was talking to Rita? Nice to see Rita. I almost forgot who she was at first as it had been a while. This must be the closest material to her exit that has been on Youtube. Nola's scheming is so inept. You have to go to dinner with me and my mom because...I dunno, it's bad and awful if you don't! Morgan looks so young here. Vanessa is in fiddle-dee-dee wardrobe mode. And Joe's hair is too long. I had no idea Ed and Vanessa were close at this point.
  21. I meant Finn (he's the one who tracked her down and is always focused on protecting her, but I think she is mostly focused on her older sons). I agree with you about Ross though. She didn't deliberately plan to kill James - she kicked over the palate thing, or whatever they call it, in anger, but I don't think she realized what would happen. The problem is she was going to leave him to die until she realized Pete was about to walk in. You can see some clips here if you don't want to track down the full episode.
  22. Thanks for finding those. Tolan being terrified makes a lot of sense with what we saw onscreen. It was a mess.
  23. The saddest part is DePriest had been around for a fair amount of that era. I think she was supposedly one of the people who wanted to kill Frankie (when they had to kill off a vet to free up salary), to take Cass back to his playboy days. I didn't care for Cass/Frankie, I thought their relationship was depressing, but Cass wasn't that man anymore, and if you wanted to take him back there, that was the absolute worst way to do it. Poor Stephen Schnetzer barely hung on after that point (there were rumors that he would have been fired in 1997 with the other vet purge if Linda Dano hadn't stepped in). It's a miracle that he had a lot to do again after that, thanks to Culliton.
  24. Cecile had Maggie kidnapped. Maggie realized what was going on and got Rafe to work with her and they'd split the money. You could tell a lot of that stuff was just JFP's own personal interest because as soon as she was gone, so were Maggie and Rafe, and Nick was almost immediately recast (and in the end it worked, even if Mark Mortimer wasn't much of an actor). Eddie Drueding's list of complaints about her AW, like talking about characters such as Rachel losing their drive, was very accurate. One of the reasons I defended Culliton's brief tenure is that the characters, for a short while anyway, seemed like themselves again. The retcon was that Cecile and Cass had had sex before he arrived in Bay City. None of the story went anywhere and I guess the show threw in the towel, as Cecile told him when she left town that this was all a lie.
  25. So what is Leanne doing? Collinson's obvious disdain for the character is one of the reasons I gave up on Corrie. I rarely hear about her now, just that she's with Jimi Mistry and no one seems to like him. And she works at the Bistro.
