Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
The fact that Nikhil was able to leave the village without Leyla betraying him means there is a soap God, somewhere. I just wish he'd make his presence known more often. Even if Leyla gets back with Jai at some point, I at least have that.

Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
I don't understand the praise that Debbie Rush seems to get. Anna is an unlikable harpy. Even when she's completely in the right, she sounds bitter, ugly, and annoying. I dream of a day where Gary is set free from the harridans in his life. It seems so short sighted of the show to bring on this new chick for Zeedan. The only time he can get some is when his sister brings around a random friend? That little moment he had with Todd on New Years was the most exciting thing they've let him do.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
This change up sounds exciting. DTC's first six months were great, but it just became one thing after another. I've watched every episode of his tenure, so there were things that kept me around day to day, but his worst trait was his constant regression of characters. Trying to be realistic, if the new producer gets rid of anyone, I hope it's Claudette. A complete DOA character.

HBO: Game of Thrones
I'd rather get promos like that, myself. Spoiler videos are not true promos to me. Just edited splices of upcoming material I don't want to see until it airs in full. The promo also made me realize that I, though aware of how much this is a minority opinion, would not be too saddened at Tyrion meeting his maker. I don't hate any character on the show to want them removed, but he's lower on my favourites list than most.

Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
Everyone knows how much I love Sally and Tim, but it made me uncomfortable when Sean was jokingly telling Tim to "punch Sally on the nose" like you would a shark, considering that she's a survivor of abuse. I also hate how focused on Carla Tracy has become. It's very close to being as annoying/pathetic as her obsession with Steve. This is a woman who murdered a man in cold blood for cheating on her. Technically, Robert didn't, but there should still be more anger towards him. She's shown plenty of times that she never wants to go back to prison, but that dark part of her should always exist. She should fear it taking control of her again, and maybe that's part of the reason she's zoned in on Carla. But no, they just brush that part of her character under the carper or make jokes about it. If this were EastEnders, they'd harp on it until the cows come home.

AMS, you don't even know. I blast Regulate at least once a week. I got that sh*t down. Admittedly, the genre is not one I usually familiarize myself with, but that is my f*cking jam.

The Politics Thread
That's the way I feel about the way Obama pronounces "Pakistan" or says "ISIL" instead of "ISIS." I'm always insanely grateful when politicians don't play dumb for political points. I hate when he calls it Isis is just catchier and uniformly accepted, so why try and push Isil? A google search of Isis shows CNN calls it than, the NY Times, The New Yorker, The Guardian...these aren't bumpkin news outlets. Not sure what you guys mean with the correct way to pronounce Muslim. I pronounce it like Does-Lim. I gather that is not correct from this discussion. I prefer ISIL or Daesh because Isis is also the name of an Egyptian goddess and, not coincidentally, of actual people who now get a lot of unnecessary drama from ignorant people. ISIS was also the dog's name on Downton Abbey. The poor thing was soon killed off once the terrorist group made headlines.

I just realized Lysette Anthony is the slut from Look Who's Talking Now. Lightbulb moment.

It's a shame he's leaving, but his exit fits his character arc. I was actually surprised it was his choice to leave, since it seems they've been foreshadowing something like this happening, practically since he arrived. I just hope this Pierce character proves fruitful, and more importantly, I hope it gives Rakesh and Priya something to do for more than five minutes, but I doubt the latter.

F*ck. She was the strongest young actress/character on the show by a country mile. This is a devastating loss. Poor David.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I'd like to forget about that child and that story altogether.... I missed out on the alleged horror story that led up to it, but I loved the moment she stood up in prison to reveal her pregnancy. It was the first time I experienced that sort of pregnancy reveal, and her subsequent time after in Walford was perfect. Of course, Kirkwood copied himself unnecessarily with Theresa McQueen, and they did the same with Charity on Emmerdale, so it's lost a but of its lustre. Still, that she named him after Ricky cracks me up.

Westbrook was one of the highlights of Kirkwood's tenure. I have serious doubts I'll like her as much this time around, unfortunately. With Jack on canvas, I wonder if she'll bring their kid along.

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
I doubt most people will be comparing them, other than as actors who have played offensive stories making light of mental illness. I didn't want them compared. I was mostly just speaking on behalf of Steph Waring's underrated performances. She's always must see for me. I've had my fair share to say about Charlie Clapham's acting skills, but I have to give him props. He has been looking damn fine, having bulked up a bit since his return.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Seeing all the Dingles in the same room is truly the most horrifying image I've ever seen. It haunts me. The "repeatedly raped" line was way too extra for me. As is Adam's hatred of Robert. He needs to reign the attitude in. On another note, I think I'm going to really enjoy Nicola working with Adam. I really can't even picture her in a scene with Aaron though. But if it does happen, I would die if she told him that she took Robert's virginity. Or maybe one day she catches Aaron/Robert "reuniting", and mentions how she taught him a certain move or something. The possibilities are endless. It would be nice, though, if Adam/Aaron actually grew to respect Nicola in the end. It would have been great if, when Nikhil asked Leyla if Jai was the best sex she ever had, she quickly retorted that it was David. I guess the whole "uglier guys have to try harder" thing could be true, but this is a woman who has had some fantastic pieces of ass in Justin (Jacob's Dad), David, Nikhil, Adam, and even Nathan Wylde.

Shortland Street
The countdown to Victoria's comeuppance has officially begun! It was months and months ago I remember twigging that she may be headed for a breakdown of sorts, but I never imagined I'd be gifted with a scenario like this. Like I said before, I'll be severely disappointed if Margaret doesn't get to batter her. I am surprised, however, that she hasn't grassed on Curtis about breaking his parole to get him off her case. Maybe it's just the greasy hair and how he's always so soft spoken, but George still gives me shady vibes. I don't like him. I hope with Mo backing the wrong horse (Victoria), it's actually Margaret who leaves him in the end. I've been fantasizing how interesting she could be with poor, single Jimmy. She deserves some fun, and he'd certainly light up her life. He feels like too much of a spare part these days, and I need that to be rectified soon. He's become my favourite male character on the show.

Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
Under no circumstances should Beth be going anywhere. She has been one of the main highlights the last few years. And her and Kirk are the best couple on the show, next to Tim and Sally, of course. Her friendship with Tracy is a particular highlight. However, I don't know how long you've been watching (or returned) to come to such an irredeemable opinion, but it I can only imagine it's because she hasn't been any prominence for awhile. I don't agree necessarily agree with getting rid of Sophie, either. She's been a strong supporting character the last couple of years, except for this unsympathetic turn they've taken her down in regards to Jenny. I'm guessing by Jimmy, you mean Johnny? I agree with the rest of your list and would add Norris, Liz, Steve, and Anna. The McDonalds are the epitome of played out, Norris adds nothing to the show, and Anna has always been an insufferable shrew. The Nazir grandparents could leave and not miss a beat, leaving Zeedan, Luke, and Gary to all live together in a lads pad. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever that the show has Luke living with Tyrone and Fiz. What 20 something would do that themselves? In fact, I wish they'd make Tracy get her own place, too. It's embarrassing now. As for Ryan, I liked Sol Heras. He was hot as hell, and it reminded viewers Sophie was more than just the resident lesbian. His affair with Katy was also the only time anyone in the Armstrong family was ever interesting.

They should never have gotten rid of Gary Lucy (Danny Pennant). He had the makings of a fantastic character, but DTC is one of the most short sighted producers I've ever seen, so they just threw him away.

It sounds to me that in 2016 the Dingles will be more insufferable than ever before. God, this is going to suck.

The news is very upsetting, indeed. She was one of the true bright spots of the show in a myriad of ways. I will mourn her absence for some time to come.

Steph Waring was fantastic in tonight's episode. People will probably fawn all over Danny Miller's performance from Emmerdale, and he was great, but I actually felt more for Cindy tonight than Aaron.

If it was another network, that'd be obvious, but wasn't Supernatural on Fridays for years? However, it is time for the show to bow out soon. Really, any show that lasts more than 7 seasons is pushing it, anyway.
