ARTICLE: ‘Rock On’ With Lauralee Bell & Michael Damian On ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’
On Tuesday, August 13 and Wednesday, August 14, “The Young and the Restless” fan favorites Lauralee Bell and Michael Damian are crossing over to sister soap “The Bold and the Beautiful” as their characters Christine Blair and Danny Romalatti, respectively, In honor of their appearance, Bell and Damian sat down with Soap Opera Network to share what fans can expect and provide insight into how things came together. First things first: Bell says that although there were rumors from earlier this year that she would be appearing on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” they were just that at the time. To be sure, she even reached out to her older brother Bradley P. Bell to set things straight considering he is the half-hour show’s executive producer and head writer. While plans were not in place at the time, he did note he would think of something and that it would be fun. Months later, an idea came to light with word that the Danny character was on tour with his band, and they were making their way to cities like Paris and even Los Angeles, which is where the CBS soap is set. “He called, and he said, ‘I think that would be cool,’ And he’s like, ‘but let me… I gotta, like, you know, flush this through a little bit, so I’ll let you know. Just, can you make sure Michael’s free?’ And I said, ‘Michael’s free.’ And then we waited a week or two, and he said, I something’s happening on ‘B&B’ with Brooke, that this whole thing just makes organic, perfect sense,” said Laurelee, setting up how the show figured out how to integrate the two into its canvas for the two episodes. In story, while on the Los Angeles stop of “Danny’s World Tour,” Christine “Cricket” Blair and Danny Romalatti are asked to help celebrate the success of The Brooke’s Bedroom line at a party at the Forrester Mansion. “What’s really cool is that, well, then Brad said, ‘Well, we’d like you to perform ‘Rock On’ on the show, in the episode,'” adds Damian, who notes that the timing was perfect because he had been working on a remix version of the song before they got the call. “‘That’s really, that’s amazing you’re asking because I’m working on a 2024, remix, brand new. I just finished it. I’ll send it right now,’ Damian recalls telling Bell, adding, “I send it to him, and he said, ‘Yes, this is perfect. You got to perform this!’ But they didn’t tell me… I didn’t know what the story was. I didn’t know what was going on. I should have asked, ‘What’s the scene?'” Regardless, he says, “It’s great what they’ve done and how they’ve set it up, and I think the fans are gonna enjoy it, and it’s the first time this will be ever heard, the first time I’ve ever performed it, actually. So that’s kind of cool, but they know the song, but they’ll be seeing the remix and hearing the remix.” Bill Inoshita/CBS In addition to performing “Rock On,” fans will also be able to hear an updated version of Damian’s song “Wasn’t Nothing At All,” although it won’t be performed by the singer/actor. “[At the party] we’re like having a good time, and the DJs playing the other song, ‘Wasn’t Nothing At All,’ and we talk about it. As for who the pair will be interacting with during their two-episode appearance, fans can expect the bulk of their interactions to be alongside Katherine Kelly Lang and Thorsten Kaye (Brooke Logan and Ridge Forrester), but they’ll also be sharing scenes with other members of the Forrester family, among others. “There are some fun little surprise fanish moments. Also, there’s some background drama that we’re not sure what’s going on,” teases Damian. Bill Inoshita/CBS Make sure to tune into “The Bold and the Beautiful” on Tuesday, August 13 and Wednesday, August 14 to find out! ARTICLE: Conner Floyd Adopts “Bryan Reynolds” Persona For YuVee, The Streaming App That Helps Users Find What To Watch
In addition to appearing as Chance Chancellor on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” actor Conner Floyd has signed on as the new spokesperson for YuVee, the all-new streaming app/streaming aggregator that helps people find, organize, and watch movies and TV shows. The service launched earlier this year. As part of the company’s new marketing campaign, launched earlier this month, Floyd can be seen taking on the persona of “Bryan Reynolds,” a fictional action/comedy star who sounds eerily similar to a real-life actor currently appears as one-half of one of this summer’s biggest box office performers. In a campaign video shared with Soap Opera Network, “Bryan” can be seen talking about his Canadian background and his leading role in the fictional “Cesspool” movie franchise. Sound familiar? “My athleticism and unparalleled flexibility has been integral to my success, or my “Successpool,” as I’d like to say. Now, since I am part Canadian, and Canadians are so nice, I would like to demonstrate some superhero fighting moves for you here now,” Bryan notes before over-exerting himself and instead choosing to explain what YuVee is all about. YuVee “Maybe I can’t teach you how to beat supervillain bad guys, but I can teach you how to fight boredom with my new streaming app: YuVee,” he opens, adding, that the app helps “organize all your streaming content, search across all streaming services, get content recommendations, and you can earn rewards every time you watch. It’s fun, it’s free and it’s far less painful than doing your own stunts. So, next time you need to fight crime or boredom, whip out this bad boy.” Explaining that YuVee is “like an airport for streaming” while speaking with Entrepreneur magazine, YuVee co-founder and CEO William Santor explained that the app isn’t a streaming service, but a place for users to get tailored AI recommendations for what to watch next as they are directed to the streamer that carries the title they are interested in. YuVee Check out more videos from Floyd’s campaign by visiting the app’s Instagram page, and visit YuVee.com for more information about the service and how to sign up. You can also download the app for free on the App Store or Google Play Store. Outside of YuVee, you can also catch Floyd weekdays on “The Young and the Restless.” Note: The post Conner Floyd Adopts “Bryan Reynolds” Persona For YuVee, The Streaming App That Helps Users Find What To Watch appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. ARTICLE: ‘General Hospital’ Executive Producer Frank Valentini Embraces New Writing Team, Says Fans Will Have “Much To Look Forward To”
As of the Thursday, August 8 episode, “General Hospital” has firmly established its third head writing team this year, with Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten as head co-head writers and Cathy LePard as associate head writer. In a statement released to Soap Opera Digest, the show’s executive producer, Frank Valentini, said of the new team, “No one knows ‘General Hospital’ and its history more than Elizabeth and Chris. Cathy joined the show in 2023, and her talent and love for the genre has been a tremendous asset to this team. We look forward to this dynamic writing combination continuing the legacy of the show and giving our fans much to look forward to.” Dan O’Connor, Chris Van Etten ABC Valentini’s comments mark the first time since being named executive producer in 2012 that he has formally commented on changes within the show’s writer’s room in an official press statement. Meanwhile, Van Etten’s promotion to co-head writer comes several months after he and then-co-head writer Dan O’Connor were abruptly let go from the same position in January. The two were quietly replaced with Korte and Patrick Mulcahey. Van Etten and O’Connor’s written material aired until March 14, while Korte and Mulcahey’s material began airing on March 15. That said, it was revealed in mid-May that Van Etten had returned to the show’s writing team as a breakdown writer/scriptwriter shortly before it was announced that Mulcahey would be exiting the series. Observing the show’s on-air credits, it can be ascertained that Mulcahey was immediately replaced by Van Etten, considering Korte and Mulcahey’s names appeared together through the Tuesday, August 6 episode, while Van Etten’s name was added alongside Korte’s as of the Wednesday, August 7 episode. LePard was added to the credits as associate head writer beginning with the Thursday, August 8 episode. Under Korte and Mulcahey, the “General Hospital” has hit a new low among TV households with a 1.2 rating and has tied its series low among rounded Women 18-49 (0.2 rating) for a record 21 consecutive weeks, according to the latest ratings figures released by Nielsen. During the week of July 29-August 2, 2024, the show averaged less than two million viewers for the 16th consecutive week and the 21st time this season, officially making the 2023-2024 television season the worst on record for the 61-year-old series. In fact, six weeks into the third quarter of 2024, the series is tied with “The View” among Women 18-49 viewers, each averaging just 134,000 viewers within the key demographic. Season-to-date, “General Hospital” is averaging exactly two million viewers (2,000,000), a 0.03 rating among Females 12-17, a 0.10 rating among Women 18-34, a 022 rating among Women 18-49 and a 0.37 rating among Women 25-54. Among demo viewers, just 4,000 Females 12-17 are tuning in, while only 34,000 viewers fall within the Women 18-34 age bracket. Elsewhere, 145,000 viewers are among Women 18-49 and 229,000 viewers are among Women 25-54. Thus, most of the show’s audience falls within the Women 55+ demographic. Opposite its soap competition, the ABC soap is down -28% among Women 18-49 while “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” are down -24% and down -17%, respectively. Hoping to turn things around with what is being called a fall reset, “General Hospital” has announced the returns of some familiar faces, including Jonathan Jackson as Lucky Spencer, Rick Hearst as Ric Lansing and Emma Samms as Holly Sutton. Of the three returnees, Jackson has signed a long-term contract, and Hearst is back for a “nice run,” according to a spokesperson for the show. Samms’ return is expected to be short. There are also plans to recast the role of Lulu Spencer, a character who last appeared on the show in 2020 and was played by Emme Rylan. One can only hope the show can turn the tide quickly, given renewed talk of budget cuts on the horizon. ARTICLE: ‘General Hospital’ Sets New Writing Team Led By Elizabeth Korte, Chris Van Etten & Cathy LePard
Following Patrick Mulcahey’s departure as co-head writer earlier this year, a new head writing team has been established at “General Hospital.” The new team’s material will appear on screen starting with the Thursday, August 8 episode. Elizabeth Korte, named co-head writer alongside Mulcahey in January, will continue as the show’s co-head writer. This time, however, she will work alongside co-head writer Chris Van Etten and associate head writer Cathy LePard as part of a new structure by ABC. Fans will recall that Van Etten had been the show’s head writer from October 2017 until January of this year, when the show decided to make changes at the top with the sudden ouster of Van Etten and co-head writer Dan O’Connor. Their material aired through mid-March. In May, it was revealed that Van Etten had returned to the show as a breakdown writer following a pitch he made over the Heather Webber (Alley Mills) storyline, which would explain why the character went on a murderous rampage as a serial killer. Within moments after Van Etten’s name appeared back in the credits, it was announced that Mulcahey would be exiting the series as co-head writer. Initially, it was reported that Korte would be the sole head writer. However, Van Etten was immediately promoted to the position of co-head writer alongside Korte. Before head writing at “General Hospital,” Van Etten had been a breakdown writer at the show since May 2012, joining the writing staff under the show’s then-head writer, Ron Carlivati. Before that, Van Etten had been working at “One Life to Live,” where he started as the assistant to the show’s executive producer, first for Gary Tomlin and then Frank Valentini (now executive producer at “General Hospital”) from 2001-2003. Van Etten became a writer’s associate at “One Life to Live” before being promoted to continuity supervisor, followed by associate head writer in August 2005. By November 2006, Van Etten had become a breakdown writer at the since-canceled New York-based daytime drama series. In 2008, Van Etten won his first Daytime Emmy Award as a member of the “One Life to Live” writing team. A veteran of primetime television with a background that includes writing and producing for such shows as The WB’s “Safe Harbor” and “7th Heaven” and ABC’s “For the People” and “The Fix,” LePard is relatively new to the daytime world, having joined the “General Hospital” writing team in late 2023 as a scriptwriter. Her other writing credits include the comedy “The John Laroquette Show” and dramas “The Division” and “Love Boat: The Next Wave,” the latter of which she helped create. According to sources, while all three will break down storylines for the series, LePard, in particular, will also continue writing scripts and outlines. In June, “General Hospital” won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing Team, marking the series’ first win in 15 years. The series also took home the award for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series and Outstanding Directing Team for a Daytime Drama Series. ARTICLE: ‘General Hospital’ Recasting Lulu Spencer; Former Portrayer Emme Rylan “Disappointed” But Embraces “Closure”
In an Instagram story published on Tuesday, Emme Rylan confirmed reports that “General Hospital” is indeed seeking to recast the role of Lulu Spencer, a character Rylan portrayed from 2013-2020 on the ABC daytime drama series. “Yes, it’s true. ‘GH’ has decided to recast Lulu,” opened the caption on Rylan’s post. “Although I am very disappointed with their choice, I am glad to finally have closure. (And thank goodness ‘GH’ brought all of you fabulous people into my life! Love you guys!).” Rylan’s comments come after TV Insider revealed on Monday that the show had issued a casting call for a character named “Lauren,” described as a 34-40-year-old blonde, white woman who is “beautiful, dynamic, and fiery.” Additionally, the character is said to have overcome “challenging circumstances and is now stronger and more determined than ever.” Based on the description, it appears that Lulu will indeed wake up from her coma after more than three years, and she’ll soon learn how her friends and family have moved on with their lives during her absence, particularly her ex, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), who is currently dating Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). Lulu returns to Port Charles just as her older brother, Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson), makes his way back to town later this month. Making her daytime debut in 2006, portraying the role of Lizzie Spaulding on “Guiding Light,” Rylan wowed fans when she took over the role of Lulu Spencer following the exit of three-time Daytime Emmy Award nominee Julie Berman. Before joining “General Hospital,” Rylan appeared as Abby Newman on “The Young and the Restless” from 2010-2013. That same year, she also appeared in an episode of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” Rylan’s additional credits include the films “Armageddon for Andy,” “Bring It On: All or Nothing” and “Impulse Black.” On TV, she’s also appeared in episodes of “Drake & Josh” and “$#*! My Dad Says,” among other projects. ARTICLE: ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Casts Rebecca Budig as Dr. Taylor Hayes
Rebecca Budig, best known for her portrayal as Greenlee Smythe of “All My Children” and Michelle Bauer on “Guiding Light,” is making a return to daytime television, taking over the role of Dr. Taylor Hayes on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” Budig made her debut on the CBS daytime drama series during the tale end of the Tuesday, August 6 episode when viewers got to see the face of the mystery woman who had been watching Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) from afar while the two had been spending time together in Monaco celebrating the re-launch of Brooke’s Bedroom line. In her first scenes, Taylor is seen calling her daughter Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), telling her that she’s heading home to Los Angeles as she looks on at Brooke and Ridge, who are shown embracing one another. In speaking with PEOPLE, Budig shares that she’s looking forward to fans’ responses about her take on the character, previously portrayed by Hunter Tylo and Krista Allen (“Days of our Lives”). Sonja Flemming/CBS “I just hope they’re open to that idea and interpretation of it and that they just believe the relationships between Taylor and Ridge and Taylor and Brooke,” Budig says, adding, “I always thought that ‘All My Children’ might’ve been the best job I ever had in terms of the people all really getting along, but I truly get the vibe here that it’s that one in a million group of people that is just collaborative, kind, supportive and just very welcoming. So I’m excited. Really excited.” A four-time Daytime Emmy Award nominee, Budig most recently portrayed the role of Hayden Barnes on “General Hospital,” following her successful runs at “Guiding Light” and “All My Children.” Speaking of the latter series, where Budig appeared off and on from 1998-2011, the casting of the actress at “The Bold and the Beautiful” marks a reunion for her and co-star Thorsten Kaye, who previously portrayed Zach Slater on the ABC daytime drama series. Sonja Flemming/CBS In 2022, Budig co-starred in the CBS original movie Fit for Christmas, opposite The Talk co-host Amanda Kloots. Following the cancellation of “All My Children” in 2011 and in between appearances on General Hospital, Budig has also appeared in the films “Bad Parents” and “Getaway.” She’s also appeared in episodes of such shows as “Blue Bloods” and “L.A.’s Finest.” Budig’s additional credits include appearances in episodes of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “How I Met Your Mother,” as well as competing in and winning “Skating with the Stars,” an offshoot of “Dancing with the Stars.” In 2014, after the birth of her daughter, Budig was inspired to write about her experience for the short film “About a Girl,” in which she also starred. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband, daughter and two dogs. Watch a clip of Budig making her debut as Taylor below. “The Bold and the Beautiful” airs weekdays on CBS. ARTICLE: Alison Sweeney Back to ‘Days of our Lives’
After a two-year absence, Alison Sweeney is set to reprise her role as Sami Brady on “Days of our Lives.” According to TV Insider, which first reported the news, Sweeney is already back taping at the Burbank Studios-based series, with episodes featuring the actress expected to air sometime in 2025. “I love playing Sami and I am always happy for the chance to come back. We always have to figure out scheduling and such, but if at all possible, I’m so glad to make it happen,” Sweeney said to TV Insider of her return, pointing out how thrilled she was to be asked to come back. First joining “Days of our Lives” in 1993, Sweeney formally exited the series as a contract player in 2015 after making the tough decision to pursue other projects, including expanding on a long and successful career at Hallmark Media, where she stars, executive produces and even writes made-for-TV movies. Speaking of Hallmark, Sweeney noted that she is currently working on a new movie for the company that she co-wrote and will executive produce. “I can’t wait to share with everyone the concept. But that will be later this year. I’m really proud of this movie,” the actress said. As for her return to “Days of our Lives,” details on what brings the character back to Salem are not yet known, but viewers will recall that when the character was last seen, Sami was kicked out of the DiMera mansion after it was revealed that she had been having an affair with ex-husband, Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo). Upon her departure from the house, a stranger immediately took Sami away and she hasn’t been heard from since. “I remembered Sami’s grand exit storming out of the DiMera mansion,” said Sweeney, recalling the storyline, as she prepares to pick up where things left off. “I was interested to hear how and why they were bringing Sami back to town. With Sami it could be anything,” she added, referring to seeing where the writers would be taking the character next. On her first day back, Sweeney was able to catch up with some of her co-stars, notably Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Brady), who was in the makeup room as she prepared for her first scenes back. “It was so fun to catch up with her, like no time has passed. We had a great chat, and it was so nice to see her,” shared Sweeney of the experience. For more on Sweeney’s return to “Days of our Lives,” click here. ARTICLE: Soap Central Acquired By India-Based Absolute Sports For $1.4 Million, Founder Dan Kroll to Exit
Soap Central, the long-running U.S.-based website that helped launch a new era of soap opera coverage and fan interactions in 1995, has been acquired by Absolute Sports, one of the world’s leading tech-led sports and gaming media companies. The India-based company is a subsidiary of Nazara Technologies. The acquisition, valued at $1.4 million, was first announced in early June and includes the Soap Central brand and all related assets, including the domain SoapCentral.com. The deal closed in early July and comes after Absolute Sports acquired a 73.27% stake in U.S.-based Pro Football Network LLC (ProFootballNetwork.com) earlier this year. “The entertainment publishing industry is more than twice the size of sports publishing and allows us a great canvas for expansion into multiple content categories,” said Ajay Pratap Singh, CEO of Absolute Sports, in a statement announcing the acquisition. “Having tested our content publishing and hyper-growth playbook with the acquisition of Pro Football Network last year, we are confident of scaling Soap Central in a very short time,” Singh continued. According to a review of the new Soap Central layout, which is not yet live and remains in active development, the website will expand its coverage beyond the four remaining U.S.-based daytime soaps by also including daily recaps, spoilers and more for British soaps “Coronation Street,” “EastEnders,” “Emmerdale” and “Hollyoaks,” along with coverage of mainstream fare such as “House of the Dragon,” “The Boys” and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), among other broad appealing entertainment content. At press time, it was unknown if the website would continue to house its popular actor, character and birthday databases, which have become some of its most important core assets. However, in reviewing the new site layout, the core assets appear to have been removed. Further, the new website now resembles that of its new sister site, Sportskeeda.com. Founded as the AMC Pages before rebranding to Soap Opera Central and later settling on its current name, Soap Central, the acquisition by Absolute Sports will reportedly see the exit of Dan Kroll, the website’s founder. ARTICLE: ‘Ambitions’ Writer Skyy Sandifer Joins ‘The Gates’
Although it has been reported that veteran writer Robert Guza Jr. (“General Hospital”) and producer Julie Hanan Carruthers (“All My Children,” “Port Charles”) have joined “The Gates” as executive producers, creator and showrunner Michele Val Jean, who is also an executive producer on the series, has only officially confirmed one new hire since the news of the show’s development was first announced earlier this year. On X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday morning, Val Jean shared that writer Skyy Sandifer had joined the new daytime drama series, which is set to debut on CBS in January 2025. Michele Val Jean Sonja Flemming/CBS “Welcome to #TheGates @SincerelySkyy. So happy to be working with you again,” said Val Jean in her X post, referring to their time working on “Ambitions,” the short-lived OWN original series created by “Days of our Lives” writer Jamey Giddens. In response to Val Jean’s post, Sandifer said, “Thank you so much! I’m so excited to be part of your baby!” Since kicking off her professional writing career at “Ambitions” in 2019, where she also served as a script coordinator, Sandifer has gone on to work as a script coordinator for such series as “Blindspotting,” “House of Payne,” “Young Dylan” and most recently “Sistas.” Previously, Sandifer worked as a production assistant on such series as “Survivor’s Remorse” and “Sunday Best,” and the Marvel film “Ant-Man.” Telling the story of a wealthy Black family in a posh, gated community, “The Gates” marks the first brand new soap opera in development for a broadcast network since the 1999 launch of NBC’s “Passions.” Note: The post ‘Ambitions’ Writer Skyy Sandifer Joins ‘The Gates’ appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. ARTICLE: REPORT: Bob Guza and Julie Carruthers Named Executive Producers of ‘The Gates’
Former “General Hospital” head writer Robert Guza, Jr. and former “All My Children” executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers have signed on as executive producers of “The Gates,” reports Soap Hub. Created by veteran soap writer Michele Val Jean (“The Bold and the Beautiful,” “General Hospital”), who will also serve as showrunner and executive producer, “The Gates,” daytime’s newest daily drama series, is set to premiere in January 2025 on CBS. It tells the story of a wealthy Black family in a posh, gated community. Additional executive producers for “The Gates” include Sheila Duckworth, Kimberly Doebereiner, Leon T. Russell and Derrick Johnson. Thus, the show is one of only two daytime dramas with more than one executive producer (“Days of our Lives” being the other) and the only daytime series with seven executive producers overall. Bob Guza In 2011, Guza left “General Hospital” as the show’s long-time head writer, a position he held alone or with a co-head writer over the span of 15 years. Guza was first named co-head writer in March 1996, working alongside Karen Harris before taking over sole head writing duties from December 1997 to December 2000, when he exited. He returned to the series in June 2002 to work alongside his Charles Pratt Jr. The two oversaw the show’s writing until March 2006, when Guza retained sole head writing duties again. By February 2007, Guza’s real-life wife, the late Meg Bennett, would become his co-head writer, a position she held until October 2007. By then, Guza once again became the show’s sole head writer until January 2008, when his name disappeared from the credits due to the 2007 WGA writer’s strike. Guza would return to the position of sole head writer again in March 2008 following the strike’s conclusion, and he remained at the show until his name disappeared from the credits again in July 2011. Julie Hanan Carruthers As for Carruthers, she also began her daytime career working in numerous roles as a production assistant, associate director, editor and producer on NBC’s “Santa Barbara” from 1984-1990. By 1994, she would land at “General Hospital,” working as a producer, supervising producer and a senior supervising producer until she exited the soap in 2000 to become executive producer of “Port Charles.” Following the cancellation of the half-hour soap in 2003, Carruthers was named executive producer of “All My Children.” She remained in her position until the show was canceled in 2011. The series concluded in September 2011. From 2015-2016, Carruthers worked as an executive producer at Mar Vista Entertainment, working on projects such as “Jessica Darlings It List.” Since 2017, Carruthers has been a successful real estate agent working for Compass, a Los Angeles-based residential real estate firm. In addition to Guza and Carruthers, Soap Hub also reported casting calls for characters set to appear in the series, among other newly revealed information about the series. LATEST RATINGS: July 22-26, 2024
The problem is that most viewers still watching traditional daytime soaps are in the 55+ range, whereas Hulu itself has a large 18-34 and 18-49 demographic, more on the younger side of both demos. Peacock can be satisfied with 200-500,000 viewers of DAYS, whereas NBC would cancel it in a heartbeat. We don't know what GH does on Hulu because they don't release any info on the show.

ARTICLE: Cameron Mathison and Wife Vanessa Announce Separation After 22 Years of Marriage
Cameron Mathison, who currently stars as Drew Cain on “General Hospital,” and his wife, Vanessa Mathison, have announced that they are separating after 22 years of marriage. In a joint statement released to “Entertainment Tonight,” the couple says, “After 22 years of marriage, we have made the difficult decision to part ways. We enter this new chapter with deep love, kindness, and respect for each other. We hold gratitude in our hearts for the wonderful years we shared together.” “Our children have been and will continue to be our highest priority, and we will forever share in our devotion and love for them,” the couple continued in their statement, referring to their two children — son Lucas, 21, and daughter Leila, 18. The couple first met in 1998 while working as models in New York City. The following year, they began dating and later tied the knot on July 27, 2002. “We remain friends, and both wish the best for one another,” the couple’s statement concludes. “We sincerely appreciate your respect for our family’s privacy during this transition.” Frank Micelotta/ABC In April 2022, Vanessa made her acting debut on “General Hospital” when she appeared as Mia, an executive coach who has an encounter with Drew and Carly (Laura Wright). “This was an absolute dream come true,” Vanessa told “Entertainment Tonight” of her appearance at the time, while admitting she was “terrified” of the idea of acting on the series. Prior to joining the cast of “General Hospital” in 2021, Cameron Mathison was probably best known for his role as Ryan Lavery on “All My Children.” He exited the series in 2002, only to return in 2003. The actor remained part of the cast until the show concluded its run on ABC in 2011. Later, Mathison went on to star in several Hallmark movies, primarily opposite Alison Sweeney (“Days of our Lives”) in the “Hannah Swensen Mystery”/“Murder She Baked” series. In November 2023, it was announced that the actor had signed a multi-year, multi-picture deal with Hallmark rival Great American Media. Mathison recently began hosting the Game Show Network original series, “Beat the Bridge.” The couple also posted the full statement of their separation on their Instagram pages.
