Available now on all major music platforms, the song “Forever Bae” by “Beyond the Gates” star Keith D. Robinson (Dr. Ted Richardson) will be featured in the Tuesday, September 16 episode of the daytime drama series. “Forever Bae” is the first single off of Robinson’s forthcoming album “Love Episodic II,” which is set to be released later this fall. Derek Blanks directed a music video for the song, which will see Robinson starring opposite his “Beyond the Gates” co-star Daphnée Duplaix (Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson), who plays his romantic love interest. The music video will also be released in the fall. In a clip from the upcoming episode of the daytime drama series, Duplaix appears in a scene alongside co-star Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree) as their characters discuss the latest family drama, specifically Nicole putting others before herself, while also contemplating whether she should give Ted a second chance after he reached out to her in recent episodes. “I thought letting go was the right thing, the only thing. But then I saw him standing there, unguarded, still reaching for me,” Nicole tells her mother in the scene. “It brought back feelings that I never thought I would have again. Everyone thought we were perfect, and maybe a part of me loved that,” continues Nicole. “You know, I was never bored. Even after all these years, I’d wake up, look at him sleeping beside me, and feel this quiet wave of gratitude, and at night, when he’d pull me in close, I’d still catch my breath every time. He was my home. Do I really have to let all that go because he messed up? How do you say goodbye to the place where your soul belongs?” You can watch the clip from the September 16 episode of “Beyond the Gates” below. You can preview “Forever Bae” on Spotify below. “The Bold and the Beautiful” has cast daytime newcomer Harrison Cone to play opposite Christian Weissmann, who plays Remy Pryce, in what is being billed as the half-hour soap opera’s first gay couple. According to Deadline, which first reported Cone’s casting, the actor will make his debut on the Tuesday, September 16 episode of the series as an aspiring designer who’s in a relationship with Remy. Further, the gay male couple will also share an on-screen kiss, marking yet another first for the 38-year-old show. Details on the name of the character that Cone will be portraying are currently being kept under wraps, as it’s understood he has close ties to another major character on the show, meaning he could be deeply connected to the Logans, Spencers, or even the Forresters themselves. The romance between Cone’s mystery character and Weissmann’s Remy comes as a surprise to fans of the series, as, up until recently, Remy seemingly had a romantic interest in Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace). Of course, it was later revealed that he was her stalker who also created deepfake photos and nearly killed her in the process, but that's a soap opera for you. For reference, Electra is the grandniece of Eric Forrester (John McCook). “Remy’s queer and we all cheered,” Weissmann said in a post on his Instagram stories timeline soon after the news of Cone’s casting was announced. Meanwhile, Cone re-shared a post by the show’s set designer, Lou A. Trabbie III, who said, “Fun set to design!” in response to the casting news. While featuring a gay male couple with a major storyline will mark new territory for “The Bold and the Beautiful,” it will not be the first time the show has had LGBTQ+ representation. In 2012, the show introduced its first lesbian couple with Karen Spencer (Joanna Johnson) and Danielle (Crystal Chappell). Although their relationship was initially meant to be hush-hush, as they were introduced as just friends, it was later revealed that Karen and Danielle were romantically involved. In 2015, the show broke new ground when it told the captivating tale of one’s transition from male to female with the revelation that Maya Avant (Karla Mosley, now appearing on “Beyond the Gates”) was actually born Myron, and how the news of being a transgender female would impact her relationship with Rick Forrester (Jacob Young). The character left the canvas by 2019. Gay representation in daytime continues to thrive in 2025, significantly building on the early days of Luke Snyder (Van Hansis) on “As The World Turns” and Will Horton (Chandler Massey) on “Days of our Lives.” Van Hansis, who made history for his portrayal of Luke on the since-canceled CBS soap opera, can currently be seen as Lucas Jones on “General Hospital,” paired opposite Adrian Anchondo’s Marco Rios. On “Days of our Lives,” the pairing of Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) and Javi Hernandez (Al Caderon) has reinvigorated the sudser. At “The Young and the Restless,” Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) saw the long-running soap opera through its first same-sex wedding in 2022. The new soap “Beyond the Gates” has also provided major storylines for Martin and Smitty (Brandon Claybon and Mike Manning), an interracial gay couple, while giving much focus on the same-sex love life of Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla). As for Cone, the actor’s credits include roles in such shows as “Stage Fright,” “Superstore,” “American Horror Stories,” “Hacks,” and more recently, “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” among others. On the film side, he’s appeared in “First Love,” “I Wish You All the Best,” “Ick,” and more recently, “ Terrestrial,” among others. I'm wondering if this is what's going to happen. Stations don't just do things like this, particularly in daytime, unless there might be a longer plan in mind. Yes, stronger lead-in support for their local news, but why now? It's been 11 years since seven of the eight ABC Owned Television Stations did this, so why did these three start jumping on the bandwagon, particularly as they are each owned by Hearst Television? Hope there is a plan.- ARTICLE: ‘General Hospital’ Preempted Due To Breaking News Coverage, Will Air Overnight On Impacted ABC Stations
“General Hospital” was preempted in several major markets on Wednesday, September 10 due to breaking news coverage on the shooting death of conservative advocate Charlie Kirk. As a result, the daytime drama series will air overnight (Thursday, September 11) in the impacted markets, particularly New York, Chicago and Philadelphia, among others. According to Nathan Varni, who serves as Executive Director Drama Programming, ABC and Hulu, with oversight over “General Hospital” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” among others, today’s episode of the long-running soap opera will be available to watch for free without a TV carrier on the show’s official website. Meanwhile, eight ABC affiliates will air the series overnight, including five of the eight ABC Owned Television Stations. In case you missed what happened in Port Charles, you can watch the program at the following times: WABC (New York) – 3:07 a.m. ET WLS (Chicago) – 1:37 a.m. CT WPVI (Philadelphia) – 2:37 a.m. ET KTRK (Houston) – 2:08 a.m. CT WTVD (Raleigh-Durham) – 3:07 a.m. ET WPBF (West Palm Beach) – 1:00 a.m. ET KFSN (Fresno) – 1:06 a.m. PT WEWS (Cleveland) – 2:05 a.m. ET Kirk, founder and CEO of the non-profit organization Turning Point USA, was appearing at Utah Valley University in Orem, UT on Wednesday to kick off the non-profit organization’s “The American Comeback Tour.” He was shot by an unknown assailant shortly after noon local time. At press time, the suspect remains at large despite two separate reports that law enforcement had an individual in custody. “The subject for the horrific shooting today that took the life of Charlie Kirk is now in custody,” reported FBI Director Kash Patel at 6:21 p.m. ET on X (formerly Twitter). “Thank you to the local and state authorities in Utah for your partnership with @fbi. We will provide updates when able.” Patel would later provide an update at 7:59 p.m. ET, saying, “The subject in custody has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement. Our investigation continues and we will continue to release information in interest of transparency.” In a statement, Turning Point USA said, “It is with a heavy heart that we confirm that Charles James Kirk has been murdered by a gunshot that took place during Turning Point USA’s ‘The American Comeback’ campus event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. “May he be received into the merciful arms of our loving Savior, who suffered and died for Charlie. We ask that everyone keep his family and loved ones in your prayers. We ask that you please respect their privacy and dignity at this time.” Kirk’s death was first announced by President Donald Trump, who said in a post on Truth Social, which was also shared on the official White House X account, “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!” “There is no place in our country for this kind of violence. It must end now. Jill and I are praying for Charlie Kirk’s family and loved ones,” said former president Joe Biden on X. Flags across the United States were ordered to be lowered to half-mast by the president, who said in a statement shared by the official White House X account via Truth Social, “In honor of Charlie Kirk, a truly Great American Patriot, I am ordering all American flags throughout the United States lowered to Half Mast until Sunday evening at 6 P.M.” Note: The post ‘General Hospital’ Preempted Due To Breaking News Coverage, Will Air Overnight On Select ABC Stations first appeared on Soap Opera Network. During the week of September 1-5, 2025, the bulk of daytime broadcast included the Labor Day holiday (Monday, September 1) in their weekly average, except for programming on ABC, which aired repeats of “General Hospital” and “The View,” each of which was coded as a special. Ironically, “GMA3,” which aired an amended telecast on the holiday, saw one of its highest-rated broadcasts of the season among Women 18-49 and Women 25-54. However, the performance didn’t count towards the show’s weekly or season average. For the week, repeats of “Let’s Make a Deal” saw the second half-hour attract its largest audience in 25 weeks (since the week of March 3-7, 2025), with 2.336 million viewers tuning in. Meanwhile, the first half-hour of the game show marked its best performance among Total Viewers in 19 weeks (since the week of April 21-25, 2025), with 1.931 million. The Wayne Brady-hosted game show was up +215,000 viewers week-to-week for its second half-hour and up +133,000 viewers for its first half-hour. “The Price is Right” also performed well while airing repeats, with the second half-hour averaging 4.074 million viewers, its best performance in 20 weeks (since the week of April 14-18, 2025). The first half-hour averaged 3.475 million viewers, its best in five weeks. As it prepares to close out the 2024-2025 television season, both half hours of the long-running game show remained the most-watched and highest-rated across daytime broadcast. Compared to its performance one week earlier, the second half-hour was up +305,000 viewers. The first half-hour was up +193,000. With 2.466 million viewers tuned in, “The Bold and the Beautiful” faltered a bit compared to its performance one week earlier among Total Viewers, down -36,000 week-to-week and dropping a whopping -230,000 viewers year-over-year. That said, the half-hour soap was the highest-rated scripted series among Women 18-49, flat week-to-week with a 0.21 rating, topping “The Young and the Restless,” which set a new season low with a 0.19 rating in the key sales demographic. Among Women 25-54 and Total Viewers, “The Young and the Restless” saw a minor week-to-week increase, up +0.01 in the demo (0.37 rating vs. 0.36 rating), and up +31,000 viewers. Compared to the same week last year, the long-running soap opera saw a mere +4,000 viewer increase among Total Viewers. Cameron Mathison Bahareh Ritter/Disney “General Hospital” averaged 1.884 million viewers for the week, which was an increase of +85,000 viewers week-to-week and up +71,000 compared to the same week last year. The soap opera was flat week-to-week among Women 18-49 (0.17 rating) while down slightly among Women 25-54 (0.27 rating vs. 0.29 rating). Despite a minor uptick among Total Viewers, up+35,000 week-to-week, “GMA3” (1.130 million) set a new series low among Women 18-49 (0.10 rating) and tied its series low among Women 25-54 (0.16 rating). The ABC News program was down -49,000 viewers year-over-year (1.130 million vs. 1.179 million). Airing a full week of encore episodes for the second time since its premiere in February, “Beyond the Gates” performed relatively well with 1.122 million viewers tuning in to see what they may have missed with episodes that originally aired in May. Further, the encores performed better than the premiere week encore episodes that aired in July, gaining +50,000 viewers over the Independence Day holiday week. Compared to the same week last year, when CBS aired repeats of “The Talk,” encores of “Beyond the Gates” saw the time slot attract +109,000 more viewers in 2025 than in 2024 (1.122 million for “Beyond the Gates” vs. 1.013 million for “The Talk”). Wrap-Up What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of September 1-5, 2025 among Women 18-49 rating, Women 25-54 rating, including week-to-week and year-over-year performance comparisons. “The Bold and the Beautiful” star Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is officially back on set, taping her first scenes as Steffy Forrester at the show’s new home at Sunset Las Palmas Studios in Hollywood on Tuesday, September 9. “Excited to have Jacqueline MacInnes Wood back on set and taping her first scenes at our new studio!” stated the show’s supervising producer Casey Kasprzyk in a post on X (formerly Twitter) as he shared the first picture of the actress in posing alongside co-star Tanner Novlan (John “Finn” Finnegan), as well as Sophia Parras McKinley, who portrays Steffy’s daughter, Kelly Spencer, whom she had with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), and Bryan David Garlick, who plays Hayes Finnegan, Steffy and Finn’s son. Kasprzyk shared a similar message on his Instagram stories timeline. Wood went on maternity leave this summer, after announcing in March that she was pregnant with her fifth child with husband Elan Ruspoli. Although the sex was not announced at the time, and at press time remains a mystery after she previously birthed four boys, the actress revealed the news of her pregnancy in her newsletter. “I’m almost 7 months pregnant! Our family is beyond excited, and my kids are over the moon,” said Wood at the time. “It’s such a special time in our home—so much love, energy, and anticipation!” In August 2023, the couple welcomed their fourth child, a boy they named Valor James, who joined older brothers Rise (born March 2019), Lenix (born February 2021) and Brando (born May 2022). “Continuing to work out—so grateful I focused on building strength before pregnancy! It’s made carrying my kids and performing emotional scenes much easier,” Wood wrote in a post at the time, highlighting previous methods she’s used to prepare her for the milestone events. Although a first air date has not been announced for Wood, fans should expect to see Steffy back on screen in the coming weeks. On Monday, CBS released a fall preview for the half-hour series, which is set to launch Season 39 on Monday, September 15, noting that Luna (Lisa Yamada) instigates a scandalous plan involving Will (Crew Morrow) that sends shockwaves through both the Forrester and Spencer families, significantly impacting the lives of Electra (Laneya Grace), Bill (Don Diamont), Katie (Heather Tom), Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), Li (Naomi Matsuda), as well as soulmates Steffy and Finn. As “General Hospital” kicked off Season 63 on Monday, September 8, two more affiliates joined the previously announced WCVB in changing the time slot for the long-running ABC daytime drama series in their local markets. New Hampshire affiliate WMUR, which covers the outlying Manchester area, and WPBF in West Palm Beach, Florida, returned the soap opera to its former 3:00 p.m. ET time slot, which it held for more than 25 years before ABC ceded the time slot back to local stations in September 2012 in the hopes of launching “Katie,” the since-canceled and ratings challenged syndicated daytime talk show hosted by Katie Couric that ran for just two seasons and cost Disney, parent of ABC, $80 million to launch. At WMUR, “General Hospital” now airs as the lead-in to the station’s “News 9 at Four,” with syndicated episodes of NBCUniversal’s “Dateline” airing at 2:00 p.m. Meanwhile, at WPBF, “Tamron Hall” has moved to 2:00 p.m., followed by “General Hospital” and the station’s “WPBF 25 News at 4:00 p.m.” telecast. Along with Boston affiliate WCVB, the stations are all owned by Heart Television, leaving one to wonder if the station group is testing the waters to see if it might also move the soap back to its former time slot on other ABC stations it owns, a likely possibility since stations always seek to place their strongest performing shows in time slots that serve as better lead-ins to their highly rated local newscasts. While on the national level, “General Hospital” continues to air at 2:00 p.m. ET/1:00 p.m. PT, the time slot switch by the three Hearst Television stations now sees 11 ABC stations in total that have moved the show back to 3:00 p.m. ET/2:00 p.m. PT. In September 2014, seven of the eight ABC Owned Television Stations, including WABC in New York, KABC in Los Angeles, WLS in Chicago, WPVI in Philadelphia, KGO in San Francisco, KTRK in Houston, and WTVD in Raleigh-Durham, made the switch. Meanwhile, KSAT in San Antonio was the sole non-ABC-owned station to also make the switch back at the time. Boston is the ninth-largest television market in the United States according to Nielsen’s Designated Market Areas (DMAs) report. The area also covers Southern New Hampshire, with WMUR serving as an outlying area of the market. West Palm Beach ranks #39 (WPBF) on the DMA list, while New York is #1 (WABC), followed by #2 Los Angeles (KABC), #3 Chicago (WLS), #5 Philadelphia (WPVI), #6 Houston (KTRK), #10 San Francisco (KGO) and #22 Raleigh-Durham (WTVD). San Antonio (KSAT) ranks 31st. Note: The post Hearst Television-Owned ABC Affiliates WMUR & WPBF Move ‘General Hospital’ To New Time Slot, Joining Boston’s WCVB first appeared on Soap Opera Network. It’s been months since it was announced that soap legend Erika Slezak (ex-Victoria Lord Buchanan, “One Life to Live”) would be returning to daytime, this time in a newly created role on “General Hospital.” As she begins taping her scenes this month at the show’s Prospect Studios set in Hollywood, we’re finally learning more about the role she’ll play in Port Charles, particularly in connection to Monica Quartermaine (played by the late Leslie Charleson). “We’re in hock big time to [executive producer] Frank Valentini for coaxing Erika Slezak to come west and play with our cast. She’s a class act and a powerhouse,” commented the show’s co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten, in an interview with TV Insider as they previewed what’s to come this fall on the daytime drama series. “We can’t wait to see how her character challenges the status quo in Port Charles.” According to Korte and Van Etten, the Quartermaines will be devastated upon learning their matriarch, Monica, has passed away, with Jason (Steve Burton) and Tracy (Jane Elliot) hit the hardest by the news. Further, as the family prepares to celebrate the life of one of their own with a grand goodbye after nearly 50 years of the character on the canvas, the occasion not only provides a time for mourning and togetherness, but also an opportunity arises with Slezak’s character arriving with a surprising connection to the Quartermaine clan and mysterious ties to others on the canvas. While not explicitly stated by the writers, a report by Daytime Confidential in July revealed that Slezak is slated to portray Monica’s sister, marking the first time since the character’s introduction in 1976 (played by Patsy Rahn at the time) that the soap opera would establish a sibling for Monica, considering the character was known to have been an orphan raised by Gail Baldwin (played by the late Susan Brown) with no direct family ties introduced beyond her cousin Lorena Sharpe Barrington (Shelley Taylor Morgan). An official first air date for Slezak has not been announced.
