  2. “Days of our Lives” star Al Calderon has joined the cast of NBC’s “Brilliant Minds” as a series regular for the upcoming second season of the medical drama series, which premieres Monday, September 22 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, following “The Voice.” Inspired by the extraordinary life and work of world-famous author and physician Oliver Sacks, the series follows Dr. Oliver Wolf (Zachary Quinto), a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier – the human mind – while grappling with their own relationships and mental health. Calderon is set to portray the role of Nurse Silva, who is described as the Mayor of Bronx General. With his ability to run the hospital while looking good doing it, his warm, funny and outgoing charm may or may not be the reason why he knows everything about everyone at work. "Hold up, lemme get my scrubs on right quick," said Calderon in the caption of a post he made on Instagram. "Big thanks to my crew, my village, my gang literally couldn’t do this without my right hand @mattgogal @culturedartists. My sweet sweet agent @juliemfulop @akatalent. Extra extra special thanks to @davidrapaport and @nbc for rocking with the kid." In addition to Calderon, new cast members joining the show during Season 2 include Brian Altemus and John Clarence Stewart, with the former playing Dr. Charlie Porter, the new neurology resident who is guarded, competitive and hiding something from his fellow doctors. Meanwhile, Stewart will play Dr. Anthony Thorne, a mid-career ER doctor who’s grown a little too comfortable with the maxim that emergency medicine is blue-collar work. Zachary Quinto, Teddy Sears Brendan Meadows/NBC The series cast also includes Tamberla Perry as Dr. Carol Pierce, Ashleigh LaThrop as Ericka Kinney, Alex MacNicoll as Dr. Van Markus, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II as Jacob Nash, Teddy Sears as Dr. Josh Nichols (“One Life to Live”) and Donna Murphy as Dr. Muriel Landon. Bellamy Young (“Scandal”) recently signed on as a recurring guest star. According to Deadline, which first reported the news of Calderon’s casting, the bilingual actor, singer and dancer is “coming off a contract role on ‘Days of our Lives,” which seems to indicate that the actor will be exiting the daytime drama series in the coming months, though a spokesperson for the soap opera tells Soap Opera Network, “We do not comment on the contract status of our actors, but fans should not worry, ‘Javi’ is alive and well in Salem.” “Brilliant Minds” was created by Michael Grassi, who also serves as writer and executive producer. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, DeMane Davis, Melissa Aouate, Henrik Bastin, Jonathan Cavendish, Andy Serkis and Shefali Malhoutra also executive produce. Berlanti Productions, Fabel Entertainment, The Imaginarium, Grassi Productions and Tavala produce in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. 3. I could be wrong, but the "hot male" they are referring to sounds like Bryton James. The interview also looks like it was conducted in the last two weeks, more likely within days after I reported the Ron Carlivati (not Frank Carlivati as the article states) news. I note that because I also tweeted about the 100th episode and when it would air before the Ron news, and I know Deadline peeps follow me on there. Just my two cents.

  5. The “Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart” podcast continues in August with fresh episodes featuring the likes of Maurice Benard (“General Hospital”), Heather Tom and Lawrence Saint-Victor from “The Bold and the Beutiful,” “Desperate Housewives” creator Marc Cherry, and “The Young and the Restless” stars Christian LeBlanc and Tracey Bregman. Benard will appear in the fifth episode of the audio/video podcast, releasing on Tuesday, August 5, while Tom and Saint-Victor’s episode drops on Tuesday, August 12. One week later, Cherry will speak with Budig and Rikaart on Tuesday, August 19, with LeBlanc and Bregman closing out August on Tuesday, August 26. The joint interviews featuring Tom/Saint-Victor and LeBlanc/Bregman mark the first time the podcast includes joint interviews in an episode. Prior episodes have seen individual interviews, including Eric Braeden (“The Young and the Restless”), Deidre Hall (“Days of our Lives”) and “Beyond the Gates” executive producer Sheila Ducksworth. More recently, the Tuesday, July 29 episode of “Soapy” sees Lauralee Bell from “The Young and the Restless” discuss her soap opera career, the stories her father, the late William J. Bell, wrote for her, and whether or not another soap tried to poach her from the long-running series. She also talks about starting on soaps as a teenager and her mother (the late Lee Phillip Bell) and father's working relationship. Watch Lauralee Bell’s full interview below. Rebecca Budig, Greg Rikaart CBS “We decided, since we knew each other so well, that we should interview all the people that we know, and people that we don’t know, in this genre,” said Budig in the first-ever episode of “Soapy,” explaining why she and Rikaart decided to do the podcast. Chiming in, Rikaart noted, the podcast was also a way to “celebrate our genre, coming from a place of love and reverence, and respect, for the incredibly challenging, hard and fun work that we get to do in daytime soaps.” Future episodes will include interviews with Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer, “The Bold and the Beautiful”), Eva LaRue (Natalia Ramirez, “General Hospital”), Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain, “General Hospital”), Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree, “Beyond the Gates”), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman, “The Young and the Restless”) and Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree, “Beyond the Gates”). 6. In the latest episode of “Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart,” Lauralee Bell from “The Young and the Restless” discusses how she landed the role of ingenue Christine Blair on the daytime drama series created by her parents, the late William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell. “This was never an intention for my family,” says Bell of her joining the show’s cast in an exclusive clip obtained by Soap Opera Network. “My mom wanted me to be a Northwestern Tridelt and go to school. We were living in Chicago, so we were very separated from this … I was a fan, so I would watch, and [my father] would be like, ‘One day you should come and really kind of get a sense of what this is all about.’ I first did an extra part on an airplane with David Hasselhoff [Snapper Foster], and after it was over, I was like, ‘That was so easy!’ and he was like, ‘No, wrong idea. You didn’t get the message.’” When asked by Rikaart to expand on that, Bell noted that her father pointed out that her saying the work was so easy is incorrect, particularly as work on the set of the series is constantly in progress, with sets being built, among other moving parts, while she was “sleeping.” Agreeing that the work was indeed hard, Bell explained she “had to sit there and buckle my seatbelt,” a metaphor of sorts to her scene with Hasselhoff, where she was on the plane with the actor who went on to star as Mitch Buchannon on “Baywatch.” “A few years later, Jabot Cosmetics was coming out with a junior line, and so I was going to be on for just two days,” continued Bell. “The thing that really helped me out was there were no young people on soaps. People that were on soaps were 25 playing 13. So, my part continued for two reasons: one, because I said after the first two days, ‘If I take acting lessons and tap … I’ll do anything. Can I be on for two more days?’ It was that, and then we also very nicely got some fan mail saying, ‘I watch with my grandkids or my kids, and they are always running around.” Revealing that the fan mail received indicated that the younger generation went from playing around the house while their mothers and grandmothers were watching the stories, to sitting around to watch with them, which is what eventually led to the casting of both Tricia Cast as Nina Webster and Thom Bierdz as Phillip Chancellor, in what would become the staple for summer storylines on daytime soap operas. 8. With the show’s debut episode featuring a cameo appearance by “The Real Housewives of Potomac” star Karen Huger, “Beyond the Gates” will see other stars from the hit Bravo reality series following in her footsteps, at least from an acting perspective. During an appearance on the Friday, July 25 broadcast of WKRC Local 12 News, Daphnée Duplaix, who portrays Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson, announced Wendy Osefo and Gizelle Bryant are set to appear later this fall on the CBS daytime drama series. Daphnée Duplaix Michele Crowe/CBS “It’s going to be great because it brings authenticity to the setting of Fairmont Crest, and so I think it’s going to be fun for the fans. And that’s going to be in the fall, so it’s not too far away,” said Duplaix to news anchor Aleah Hordges, who is the real-life sister of actor Jibre Hordges, who plays Jacob Hawthorne on the soap opera. Duplaix was joined by her “Beyond the Gates” co-stars Keith D. Robertson (Dr. Ted Richardson) and Colby Muhammad (Katherine “Kat” Richardson) as they were in town for the Cincinnati Music Festival and a panel discussion presented by Procter & Gamble, which co-produces the show alongside CBS Studios and the NAACP. There were no additional details available at press time on Osefo and Bryant’s upcoming appearance on the series. While appearing in the April 27, 2025 episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” Bryant spoke with host Andy Cohen, sharing an update on Huger, who is currently serving a one-year prison sentence after she was found guilty of multiple charges including DUI and DWI stemming from a March 2024 single-car accident in Maryland, saying she is “running” things. “I have been in contact with someone who is very close to her about her safety and all that,” Bryant said to Cohen. “And from what I understand, they love her up in where she is right now. They absolutely love her. They are loving the Grande Dame. You know she is running that thing.” She added, “I feel very good about the fact that she’s safe.” Watch the full conversation with the “Beyond the Gates” stars below. 9. After a four-year run as Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV on “The Young and the Restless,” actor Conner Floyd saw his character killed off in dramatic fashion during the Monday, July 28 episode of the long-running drama series. In story, while still at the chateau, Chance swooped in to save both Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), whose lives were in danger after it was revealed that Carter (Vincent Stalba) had killed Damian. In an attempt to escape punishment for his crime, he took Lily hostage, but when things reached their breaking point, he let her go, only to fire his gun with a bullet striking Chance directly in his chest. During Chance’s final moments, he died in Cane’s arms, a poignant plot point, both from a story perspective and also a real-life one as, at one time, Cane (then played by Daniel Goddard) assumed the identity of Chance’s father, Phillip Chancellor (Thom Bierdz), to scam Jill (Jess Walton), Chance’s grandmother, out of her money. Secondly, it was announced last month that Floyd had assumed the role of Chad DiMera on “Days of our Lives,” a character previously portrayed by Billy Flynn, though Flynn continues to appear on both soaps due to the advanced tape-to-air schedule followed by the latter series. On-screen, Flynn will conclude his run in Salem in early 2026, while Floyd will assume the role beginning with the Tuesday, April 21, 2026 episode. “Days of our Lives” was recently renewed for a 62nd and 63rd season at Peacock. In an interview with TV Insider, Floyd shared with the outlet that his character died the way he would have wanted to go out, specifically as a hero. “That’s his story that he’s always been telling — that he’s a hero — and the ultimate person to put everybody else above himself, so I think it’s a little poetic in a way. And then the way I died in Billy Flynn’s arms is also very poetic.” Interestingly, Floyd thinks “The Young and the Restless” head writer Josh Griffith purposely had Chance die in Cane’s arms as a nod to what the future held for the actor. Conner Floyd, Billy Flynn CBS While he’s sad to see his time in Genoa City come to an end, particularly as his character was one of the last remaining remnants of the iconic Chancellor family, Floyd has great things to say about his experience, including his chance to work with such greats as Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman), just to name a few, saying, “I know my grandmothers are rolling over in their graves right now. I wish they could have been here to get a little piece of that, but it’s really cool just to be a part of the soap world. It’s a unique place for an artist, and I feel like I came out of this a little better of an actor than when I started.” Calling Chance’s death “bittersweet,” Floyd is thankful that he already had another job lined up at the time when he found out where the storyline was going, sharing, “I had another job on the horizon, and so it’s like, ‘Oh, OK, I’m not going to be unemployed,’ but it is sad to say goodbye to Chance and to everyone over there at ‘Y&R,’ so it’s a little bit of mixed emotions. I feel happy, I feel sad, it kind of depends on the day.” While closing out his time at the Television City studio where “The Young and the Restless” is taped, he recalled that his last day hit him more than expected, revealing that while he is a “crier,” he tried his best not to succumb to tears, but ultimately failed. “I remember talking to Billy Flynn, and he was like, ‘No, I bet you cry. I cried when I left [‘DAYS’].’ I was like, ‘Yeah, we’ll see, man.’ We had this last scene, and everyone was clapping, and I was saying goodbye to everyone and walking out, and I cried like a baby. I’m not going to lie,” said Floyd. “There were a couple of us that got together and hung out afterwards, and I was still fighting tears there. But there are good things on the horizon, so I was OK.” Note: The post Conner Floyd Exits ‘The Young And The Restless’ As Legacy Character He Portrayed Is Killed Off Soap Opera appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. 10. Although a specific air date had not been announced at press time, a newly released promo for “Beyond the Gates” reveals that actor Bryton James will be taking his character from “The Young and the Restless” from Genoa City to Fairmont Crest, at least temporarily. “Articulette’s concert, more Dani drama (obvs), and a Devon Winters sighting in Fairmont Crest?!!!!!!!! This looks like a WEEK, y’all!” teased “Beyond the Gates” star Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree), who shared the promo on Instagram, noting James would likely be appearing as Devon during this week’s episodes of the series. In the promo, James can be seen entering the dining area of the Fairmont Crest Country Club, preparing to shake hands with Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) as Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) says to him, “Devon, Welcome to Fairmont Crest!” In a separate promo released last week, it was revealed that the Articulette’s would be performing for the first time together in decades. With Devon having experience as a music promoter, it makes sense that he would be there to help promote the concert. In story, the Articulette’s, composed of Anita (Tunie), Sharon (Bonita Brisker) and Tracy (Maria Howell), were a Chicago-based girl group from the ’70s that disbanded over misunderstandings and animosity between its members. In recent months, the group reunited and came to an understanding of what happened in the past. To right some wrongs, they agreed that a reunion performance was something they should consider, and in recent weeks, they’ve been preparing for their big night. With James’ appearance, this marks the first-ever crossover to take place between “Beyond the Gates” and one of its CBS soap siblings, and confirms that the three CBS soaps (including “The Bold and the Beautiful”) likely exist in the same universe, something fans had long wondered since the early days of development for the new daytime soap. 11. During its one-day video conference plenary on Saturday, the SAG-AFTRA National Board announced that it has overwhelmingly voted to approve the tentative agreement the union, which represents professional actors, reached earlier this month with the major broadcast networks and other producers for the 2025 Network Television Code of Fair Practice for Network Television Broadcasting (Network Television Code). The agreement, which covers work on a wide range of live and recorded programs including soap operas, talk shows, variety shows, award shows and sports, will now be sent to the membership for ratification. Current programs covered by the contract include “Good Morning America,” “The Price is Right,” “The Young and the Restless,” “Beyond the Gates,” “Jeopardy!” “Saturday Night Live,” “The Voice,” “Dancing With the Stars,” “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver,” “General Hospital,” “Days of our Lives,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” the Academy Awards and the Super Bowl, among others. According to SAG-AFTRA, key gains in the agreement include a 1 percentage point increase in the benefit plan contribution rate and a reallocation of existing contributions, which together will effectively raise the AFTRA Retirement Fund contribution rate by 3.3 percentage points, adding needed resources to the Fund. The agreement would also provide a general wage increase of 3.5% in year one, 3% in year two, and 3% in year three, marking a compounded increase of 9.8% over the term, with additional targeted increases in specific performer categories. Wage increases are subject to a possible strategic reallocation to the AFTRA Retirement Fund as needed to strengthen members’ retirement benefits. High-budget non-dramatic entertainment programs made for SVOD will also now be subject to the scale minimums of the Network Code. Additionally, a large number of meaningful gains were made in many performer categories, including expanded streaming coverage for sports broadcasters for certain sporting events, improved protections around young performers, better terms for dancers and singers, protections for ensuring hair and makeup equity, and earlier access to disability accommodations. Background actors, promo announcers, stand-ins, and reporters also received improved terms. Most importantly, the new contract also requires the use of intimacy coordinators for scenes involving nudity or simulated sex and advance notification to background performers when nudity or simulated sex will be required. The agreement also adds a commitment to adopt future artificial intelligence terms secured in the upcoming 2026 TV/Theatrical Agreement negotiations. “This is a meaningful and future-facing contract that raises the bar across the board. This contract reflects the union’s deep commitment to dignity, fairness, and progress in the face of increasingly adverse times,” said SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher. “I’m incredibly proud of the work that went into this deal, and wholeheartedly approve of what it represents for our members working under the Network Television Code.” “This agreement delivers meaningful wage increases, expanded protections through the use of intimacy coordinators and guaranteed access to disability accommodations and AI safeguards, all while securing vital gains in workplace safety and retirement contributions,” said SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director & Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland. “It also adds additional needed resources to the AFTRA Retirement Fund. I’m especially grateful for the Network Television Code Negotiating Committee, led by Chair Keri Tombazian. Their insight and dedication helped ensure this agreement meets the evolving needs of our members in the ever-changing media landscape. I also commend our extraordinary negotiating staff and especially lead negotiator Ray Rodriguez for their efforts in achieving this forward-thinking deal.” The current contracts remain in effect during the member ratification process, the union said. Informational meetings for members are currently being scheduled and details will be made available at sagaftra.org/netcode2025 in the coming days. Meanwhile, postcards will be mailed on Wednesday, July 30 to eligible SAG-AFTRA members and they will have until 5:00 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 to cast their vote on ratification. 13. The 100th episode is a milestone and a cause for celebration, even though it's expected since daytime shows typically see at least one full season, with rare exceptions (see "The Revolution," which didn't get to 100 episodes - ditto online reboots of "All My Children" and "One Life to Live"). That said, there was a cake-cutting party for the 100th episode: https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2025/04/beyond-the-gates-milestone-100th-episode To your point, though, yes, when the show reaches episode 500, 1000, 2000, etc., that's when soaps typically celebrate their milestones en masse.
  14. The fourth episode of “Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart” is set to release on Tuesday, July 29, featuring an interview with “The Young and the Restless” star Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair), who, in a newly released clip, discusses how she was able to play the vulnerable side of her character during the early part of her tenure in daytime. When asked by Rebecca Budig (Taylor Hayes, “The Bold and the Beautiful”) about playing emotional scenes and being comfortable doing so, Bell shared a story of the time the show’s executive producer at the time, Wesley Kenney, demonstrated a physical technique he expected from the actress for the scenes she was about to portray, particularly as she was a teenager at the time. “He’s like, ‘And you have to go like this and like this, and like this, and I was looking at him like, ‘I don’t like, really? Are you sure?’ And it did have to be exaggerated for that,” recalled Bell of the experience in answering Budig’s question. “You could just tell I was, I was so scared.” When Greg Rikaart (Leo Stark, “Days of our Lives”) pointed out how difficult it must have been to be vulnerable as a teenager, Bell noted, “Thank God for no social media at that time.” Check out a clip from the fourth episode of “Soapy” below. “Soapy” is a new audio and video podcast that dives deep into the legacy, fandom, and enduring appeal of soap operas. 17. I don't believe NBC has a financial stake in the PGP soaps. Yes, to Generations, Sunset Beach and Passions, though. That said, Sunset Beach was an Aaron Spelling production as well, which means CBS owns the other half of the show's rights. With Passions, they own the first eight seasons outright, but the ninth and final season also aired on DirecTV, which co-produced the episodes.
  18. In celebration of the show’s 40th anniversary, Disney Entertainment Television announced on Friday that fans of “The Golden Girls” can look forward to exclusive themed merchandise and experiences across the country, starting on the official Golden Girls Day, Wednesday, July 30, with nationwide events that will feature curated experiences from Zero Waste Daniel, themed beverages from Nocking Point Wines, treats from Yogurtland, and limited-edition merchandise from Brick Craft, Candier, and Furbish Studio. Debuting September 14, 1985 on NBC and created by Susan Harris, “The Golden Girls” captivated audiences for seven memorable seasons, with the series’ theme song and lyrics becoming an enduring anthem for generations of fans. The series followed four vibrant friends sharing life and laughter in Miami: strong-willed Dorothy Zbornak (Bea Arthur), sweetly naive Rose Nylund (Betty White), flirtatious Blanche Devereaux (Rue McClanahan) and wise-cracking Sophia Petrillo (Estelle Getty). Though their distinctive personalities occasionally clashed, their enduring friendship — celebrated in the theme song “Thank You for Being a Friend” — remains the heart of the show. For the first time, the estate of singer-songwriter Andrew Gold has made the lyrics of his classic hit “Thank You for Being a Friend” available for “The Golden Girls” products being sold by Furbish Studio, Yogurtland and Candier: Furbish Studio, known for its iconic collection of needlepoint pillows featuring witty sayings, playful prints and vibrant patterns, is launching the limited-edition “Thank You for Being a Friend” pillow. The pillow will be available for pre-order through the company’s website, www.furbishstudio.com, starting August 19, ahead of the official product launch on September 12. Yogurtland will introduce a limited-edition cheesecake-flavored yogurt, “Thank You for Being Cheesecake,” to celebrate National Cheesecake Day on July 30. Aptly named in connection with the iconic theme song for “The Golden Girls,” Yogurtland fans can escape the heat at any of the 202 participating locations across the United States until August 17. Candier, the candle brand renowned for its unique, fun and luxurious scented candles, will introduce two limited-edition items: “I’ll get the Cheesecake!” candle and the “Thank You for Being a Friend” candle, starting September 14. Additional “The Golden Girls” products and celebrations include the following: From July 31 to August 17, Brooklyn-based fashion brand Zero Waste Daniel will honor television’s most iconic foursome with a limited-edition capsule collection inspired by “The Golden Girls,” celebrating the enduring legacy of Blanche, Dorothy, Rose and Sophia. The collection reinterprets nostalgic elements from the sitcom through the bold, artistic and heartfelt vision of one of Brooklyn’s most unique creative studios. It will be available to purchase online and at a special in-store activation at the Zero Waste Daniel flagship location (257 Varet Street), which will be transformed into a Golden Girls-inspired dreamscape, part fashion destination and part fan tribute. Beginning August 17, Nocking Point Wines, the distinguished wine company known for delivering custom-curated wines, will launch a wine assortment with four distinct bottles to celebrate the four vibrant friends: a full-bodied red for strong-willed Dorothy Zbornak, rosé in honor of spacey Rose Nylund, a sauvignon Blanc befitting flirtatious Blanche Devereaux, and a red blend perfect for the wise-cracking Sophia Petrillo. Brickcraft, the design-forward building brand known for bringing fan-favorite franchises to life through brick-building sets, will debut a limited-edition “The Golden Girls” brick-building set in November. Disney Entertainment Television also has multiple programming events planned: Fisher-Price has launched a playful and nostalgic short-form content series titled “Little People Collector Mini Adventures.” This series reimagines beloved moments from “The Golden Girls” using the Fisher-Price Little People Collector The Golden Girls: Late Night Cheesecake set featuring Dorothy, Blanche, Rose and Sophia. Each episode highlights fan-favorite themes and timeless humor, introducing the charm and wit of these iconic characters to a new generation in Little People form. All-new episodes will debut July 30 across the official social media accounts of “The Golden Girls,” Mattel and Fisher-Price, coinciding with International Cheesecake Day. Additional episodes are scheduled to air Aug. 19, with a special episode commemorating the 40th anniversary of the show set to air Sept. 14. Another episode, focusing on the most memorable moments from the series, will be released on Nov. 18. This fall, ABC News will mark the iconic sitcom’s 40th anniversary with a one-hour special detailing the incredible inside story of “The Golden Girls,” featuring series creator Susan Harris, Emmy Award-winning producer Tony Thomas, and many of the show’s original writers and producers. Paying tribute to the legendary actresses who brought Dorothy, Blanche, Rose and Sophia to life, and to 40 years of friendship, laughter and their famous love of cheesecake, the special will explore how “The Golden Girls” used uninhibited comedy to rewrite the narrative for women over 50 and how its timeless appeal has created a lasting influence on pop culture. Check out a 40th anniversary promo below. “The Golden Girls” is one of only four sitcoms where every performer in the main cast won at least one Emmy Award for their performance. Overall, the series won 11 Emmy Awards, including two wins for Outstanding Comedy Series, and earned four Golden Globes and several other prestigious industry honors during its run. The iconic series ranked among the Nielsen ratings’ Top 10 for six of its seven seasons and ranked 18 out of Variety’s 100 Greatest TV Shows of all time. The iconic series has been streamed over 1 billion hours globally on Disney+ and Hulu. All seven seasons are available to stream on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers. 20. Beyond the Gates Spoilers for August 2025
  21. First announced in March, the “Bad Bunnies” podcast, which was to be hosted by former “General Hospital” star Kelly Monaco (ex-Sam McCall) and her long-time friend Shanna Moakler, and was named to reference their time as Playboy playmates, has been canceled. The news of the podcast’s cancellation was revealed earlier this month on Instagram when Moakler responded to a question asked by a fan about its status in the comments of one of her reels. In the post, Moakler shared, “We are not doing it she is dealing with some personal things. Claudia Jordan and I will be doing one.” Jordan is an actress and media personality known for “Deal or No Deal,” “Deal or No Deal Island,” “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and “Celebrity Apprentice,” among other TV shows, movies and music videos. In another post, Moakler was asked a similar question about the podcast’s status, this time revealing, “It’s not looking like it at the moment. I think Kellie [sic] is working on some personal family things.” In a more recent response posted on Friday, however, when told by a fan how much they were looking forward to the podcast, Moakler said, “I was too we would have had a blast but she has a ton of work oops which is great!” Moakler’s apparent slip-up, wherein she said, “she has a ton of work oops which is great,” seemingly implies that Monaco has landed a new gig, though Moakler wasn’t supposed to say anything about it. The use of “oops” in particular was an interesting choice of words. Soap Opera Network first broke the news last August when we reported “General Hospital” had plans to “terminate” Monaco’s character off the show. The following month, Monaco taped her final episodes, with a video of her final day on set going viral in mid-November. In it, the actress could be seen holding back tears as she thanked the show’s cast and crew for the “experience that I’ll take with me for the rest of my life.” Since last appearing in the November 1, 2024 episode of “General Hospital,” which saw her character killed off after being injected with digitalis by Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), kicking off a serial killer storyline on the soap, fans of Monaco had been left wondering what’s next for the former “Dancing with the Stars” Mirror Ball trophy winner with many hoping she’d eventually land at another soap. That said, earlier this year, there were unsubstantiated reports that Monaco had joined the cast of “Days of our Lives,” something which was quickly denied by a spokesperson for the show, who said at the time, “Not true,” when we reached out for comment. As for the podcast, its name, “Bad Bunnies,” is a reference to Monaco’s experience in being named Playboy magazine’s Playmate of the Month in April 1997. Moakler held the title in December 2001. With the podcast, the women were to be “Unfiltered. Untamed. Unapologetic,” with the actresses sharing “Hollywood secrets, wild stories, pop culture tea, and real talk” where “nothing is off-limits!” Note: The post Shanna Moakler Announces ‘Bad Bunnies’ Podcast Cancellation, Seemingly Reveals Kelly Monaco Has Landed New Gig appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. 22. Jeff Zucker was his name, lol. He ran CNN into the ground, too! His words will forever remain in my mind when I see DAYS getting renewal after renewal. Now, the show is guaranteed to remain on the air through at least 2028, which means 19 years past his prediction. How he kept getting promoted, I'll never know. The epimitome of failing upward, IMO.
