  4. Best known for his work in capturing the biggest and brightest moments for the stars of tomorrow, including several young and familiar faces across daytime soaps, renowned photographer Brad Everett Young has died. Young, 46, had just come from seeing a movie and was driving alone on the 134 Freeway in Los Angeles County on the night of Sunday, September 14, when he was killed after his car was struck by another vehicle that was heading in the wrong direction, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which first reported Young’s passing, citing Young’s publicist, Paul Christensen. The beloved photographer died on the scene, while the other driver survived and was later hospitalized. Born July 24, 1979, in Danville, Virginia, Young graduated from Chatham High School and Averett University, where he served as editor in chief of the high school newspaper and his college’s newsmagazine. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree, which included minors in Journalism and Psychology, Young had every intention of attending medical school in Los Angeles until his passion for photography and acting overtook him. As an actor, Young had several bit parts in such shows as “Boy Meets World,” “Felicity,” “The Practice,” “Charmed,” “Beverly Hills, 90210,” and spinoff “90210,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Numb3rs,” among others. He also appeared in the films “I Love You, Man,” “Rumor Has It…” “Charlie’s Angels,” “Jurassic Park III” and “Austin Powers in Goldmember,” just to name a few. His skill as a photographer brought Young much acclaim, with a portfolio that included projects or shoots for several major publications, such as The Hollywood Reporter, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, PEOPLE and Variety, among others. Johnny Flowers, Mike Manning, Zach Tinker Brad Everett Young On top of the work he’s done for the likes of David Harbour (Stranger Things”), Seth Green (“Family Guy”) and Sarah Michelle Gellar (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “All My Children”), among others, several past and present daytime soap stars had their shots taken by Young over the years, including cast members from “General Hospital” (Rory Gibson, Tabyana Ali, Eden McCoy, Evan Hofer, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Chad Duell, Ryan Paevey, Kristen Alderson, etc.), “Days of our Lives” (Martha Madison, Zach Tinker, Casey Deidrick, Christopher Sean, Eric Martsolf, Jen Lilley, etc.), “Beyond the Gates” (Mike Manning), “The Young and the Restless” (Billy Flynn, Lucas Adams, Courtney Hope, Camryn Grimes, David Lago, Lachlan Buchanan, Brian Gaskill, etc.) and “The Bold and the Beautiful” (Felisha Cooper, Kim Matula). Young founded Dream Loud Official, a non-profit organization formed to help save art and music programs in schools by raising awareness and encouraging school systems to retain the art and music programs instead of letting them go. “Brad’s passion for both the arts and the people behind them was unmatched,” Christensen said in a statement released to THR. “He lived his mission of keeping creativity alive, and his legacy will continue through Dream Loud Official.” Young is survived by his brother, Chris. The family plans to hold a Memorial service for Young with arrangements to be announced. Watch clips from behind the scenes of Young’s work for the Dream Loud campaign below. 10. “One Life to Live” legend Erika Slezak officially arrived in Port Charles last week, taping her first scenes as a yet-to-be-revealed character on “General Hospital.” According to an update by her official fan club on Sunday, Slezak’s first week went well, and she felt “warmly welcomed” by the cast and crew at Prospect Studios in Hollywood, where the daytime drama series tapes. “Everyone at ‘GH’ is so wonderfully kind and helpful, and by now I know my way around the studio a bit,” commented Slezak, talking about her experience. Further, she has already reunited with several people she knew from her days working in New York, which the fan club notes “has made her feel comfortable and at ease” in her new working environment. Although an air date for Slezak has remained unknown up to this point, the fan club shares, “the past week has been quite busy,” and Slezak anticipates an even busier week ahead. “Her evenings consist of learning lines for the following day! Despite missing her family and animals back home, she is thoroughly enjoying her time at ‘GH.’” As previously reported, “General Hospital” co-head writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten confirmed that Slezak will be playing a new character with ties to the Quartermaine family, with the writers saying in an interview with TV Insider, “We can’t wait to see how her character challenges the status quo in Port Charles.” According to Korte and Van Etten, the Quartermaines will be devastated upon learning their matriarch, Monica, has passed away, with Jason (Steve Burton) and Tracy (Jane Elliot) hit the hardest by the news. Further, as the family prepares to celebrate the life of one of their own with a grand goodbye after nearly 50 years of the character on the canvas, the occasion not only provides a time for mourning and togetherness, but also an opportunity arises with Slezak’s character arriving with a surprising connection to the Quartermaine clan and mysterious ties to others on the canvas. While not explicitly stated by the writers, a report by Daytime Confidential in July revealed that Slezak is slated to portray Monica’s sister, marking the first time since the character’s introduction in 1976 (played by Patsy Rahn at the time) that the soap opera would establish a sibling for Monica, considering the character was known to have been an orphan raised by Gail Baldwin (played by the late Susan Brown) with no direct family ties introduced beyond her cousin Lorena Sharpe Barrington (Shelley Taylor Morgan). New | #133 PROMO CLIP Preview Clip for Tuesday, September 16: Nicole and Anita (Tamara Tunie) discuss the latest family drama, specifically Nicole putting others before herself, while also contemplating whether she should give Ted a second chance after he reached out to her in recent episodes. “I thought letting go was the right thing, the only thing. But then I saw him standing there, unguarded, still reaching for me,” Nicole tells her mother in the scene, which is highlighted by the song “Forever Bae” by Keith D. Robinson. “It brought back feelings that I never thought I would have again. Everyone thought we were perfect, and maybe a part of me loved that,” continues Nicole. “You know, I was never bored. Even after all these years, I’d wake up, look at him sleeping beside me, and feel this quiet wave of gratitude, and at night, when he’d pull me in close, I’d still catch my breath every time. He was my home. Do I really have to let all that go because he messed up? How do you say goodbye to the place where your soul belongs?” The song is the first single off of Robinson’s forthcoming album “Love Episodic II,” which is set to be released later this fall. Duplaix appears alongside Robinson in the forthcoming music video for “Forever Bae,” releasing Monday, September 15. 13. “The Bold and the Beautiful” star Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer) will be the next guest on the audio/video podcast series “Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart,” releasing Tuesday, September 16, on Audacy and the CBS brand YouTube channel. In an exclusive clip from the show’s 11th episode, Clifton can be seen discussing prologues and dialogue scenes in soap operas with hosts Rebecca Budig (“The Bold and the Beautiful,” “All My Children,” “General Hospital”) and Greg Rikaart (“The Young and the Restless,” “Days of our Lives”). Greg Rikaart, Rebecca Budig CBS As noted by Rikaart, the scenes in question typically air online or internationally, which means fans watching daily episodes of their favorite soap in the United States don’t necessarily get to see them. In response to Rikaart’s question of whether the actors can take more liberty with those types of scenes, both Clifton and Budig chime in, noting they don’t really have an opportunity to do so, with Budig in particular saying, “You can’t really [do that].” Clifton echoes Budig’s response, saying, “‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ is such a great show to work on when it comes to the script writing and the dialogue because, yes, it’s like, very classic old school like campy, like, ‘I love you!’/‘No!’ – it’s that classic kind of soap dialogue which can come off campy and sort of corny, and sometimes the exposition feels like so in your face, or like the lines are made to be dramatic irony, but it’s a little like, ‘okay,’ but all those mechanisms are there for a reason and they give us so much faith to kind of massage it.” Watch our exclusive clip below. In a separate non-exclusive clip released by CBS, Clifton talks about his interest in music, particularly writing songs, and how his mother helped him hone his skillset. Watch that clip below. Featuring lively, nostalgic conversations with beloved past and present stars and creatives from across the entire soap opera community and all networks and platforms, including daytime and primetime, “Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart” takes a deep dive into the legacy, fandom and enduring appeal of soap operas. 14. No worries. I think, for me, the better example for a soap crossover done well was the baby switch storyline on All My Children and One Life to Live. Of the two soaps, things were told better on the AMC side, which is where it was most favored, but all the characters got perspective, and the story had a long-lasting impact on the show where I still remember what happened for most of it even 20+ years later. If CBS could do something similar with Beyond the Gates and either The Bold and the Beautiful or The Young and the Restless, I'd be all over it. One-off appearances are fine for now, though.
  15. On “The Young and the Restless,” Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Michael (Christian Le Blanc) come to an agreement. While Jack (Peter Bergman) has a warning for Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), it’s her daughter, Victoria (Amelia Heinle), whom he turns to for help. Elsewhere, Kyle (Michael Mealor) opts to be the better man in the situation. Meanwhile, Cane (Billy Flynn) appears to be turning over a new leaf after revealing his latest agenda to Amanda (Mishael Morgan). First, he appeals to Billy (Jason Thompson), hoping he’ll make things right with Jill (Jess Walton). Later, Cane attempts to charm his way back into Lily’s (Christel Khalil) good graces, and finally, he sets up a meeting with like-minded individuals. Who will attend such a meeting? You’ll have to tune in to find out! Find out what else will happen during the week of September 15-19, 2025 on “The Young and the Restless” below. 16. You might get your wish as Tracey Bregman and Christian Le Blanc will be in Atlanta next week for a CBS press event, alongside other talent from Paramount and CBS daytime shows. Bryton was in Atlanta in May for Family Feud, so it's not like they can't make it happen.
  17. Hopefully, no one. That was a disastrous decision by ABC back in the day. It ruined the legacies of the Chandlers on All My Children and the Quartermaines on General Hospital. Skye Chandler, in particular, as a character, was ruined the most, just for an experiment. Clearly, there is no long-lasting impact like, say, Jason Morgan getting brain damage from that car accident in 1996 on GH had. Of course, this is all just my opinion.
  18. Marco's sexuality is secondary to his career and family connection, at least that's how I see GH telling his story. I prefer it that way as who you have sex with should not define you. B&B, however, is starting the story off with Remy all of a sudden being gay, with no indication of this in the nearly one year he's been there. At least if we got a story beat from him during his stalking/attempted murder of Electra phase, this twist/casting would make more sense.
  19. I presume Remy's psycho behavior will be blamed on his needing to hide his sexuality because he was afraid of what his family/friends would think of him. Trope. Trope. Trope. This is B&B!
  20. I'm hopeful this means we get 3:00 p.m. back nationally, and 2:00 p.m. as well. Pipe dream.
  21. I don't think so because episode #124, for example, which aired on Monday, September 8, was taped on May 16, 2025. If Mike's post, shared on June 25, 2025, was in reference to something they filmed that day, it would likely be something airing in October. Unless it was those scenes and they were later inserted into the episode? We'll soon find out.
