Gee, I wonder if Bitsy also controls her man's mind when he sleeps and has wet dreams about other women. Everybody has those dreams, and to those who say they don't can't really know when most of us don't remember our dreams. Silly broad. Makes me think o my sister, judgemental and controlling, and THAT at times, makes some people act out and can actually cause the same problems she's trying to avoid in the marriage. Sexual fantasies are healthy to have, btw. Any shrink or sex therapists will tell you that.

Maybe Bitsy prefers people in Hollywood that get married and divorced after three years without even going to counseling like Jessica Simpson.

titan, my point wasn't that getting married is the answer to those problems. My point was that if the ones who DO engage in the 'free love' practices realized that they contributed to the AIDS epidemic, and they themselves DID choose to wait until marriage, there would BE no AIDS epidemic.

No one really can argue against that.

The problem is that you're under the assumption that AIDS is just a sex/gay disease, and it's not. You can get it through contaminated needles, infected blood and other bodily fluids (save saliva). Just not having sex isn't going to stop the AIDS epidemic.

I'm well aware of the other ways AIDS is spread, Danni. Though I don't know the official stats, I'm fairly sure that AIDS is mostly spread through careless sex practices--and with the porn industry, specifically, which openly lauds the "bareback" phenomenon, is it any wonder?

Porn MUST die.

IT's too real not to affect people's decisions.

Plain and simple.

It's funny because while porn does indeed have a lot of films that don't have condoms, film companies make it mandatory that the porn stars are tested regularly. Anyone with half a brain knows that. While there are porn stars who eventually turn up HIV+ and have infected others, it's not as widespread as you make it out to be. In fact, reports have shown the contrary. Anyone who is suspected to be HIV+ immediately stops working, and those who have worked with said porn star goes into "quarantine", for lack of a better term, until results come back.

I'd say chalk it up to people who are downright afraid of talking about different forms of protection or just being overall uninformed about sex that lead to dumb choices. Porn is just an easy scapegoat. It's funny yet terrifying to know how many teens still think that pulling out won't lead to pregnancy or STDs.

Oh, I'm well aware that porn industries require HIV testing.

I'm not saying blame the AIDS epidemic on porn stars, LITERALLY. I meant that "bareback" phenomenon translates to many of the VIEWERS of porn, some of whom don't realize the 'behind the scenes' aspects, and go out looking for similar adventures.

But anyway, why defend porn? It has no real value. It shoudl be declared obscene by the U.S. Supreme Court and outlawed. It has no redeeming values, it is NOT art, and it pretty much is prostitution. Porn stars are legal WHORES. And poor role models that are treated like gods and godesses to weak individuals. It sickens me.

The "bareback" phenomenon is due to parents and schools not teaching kids about contraceptives and safety precautions when engaging in sexual activity, not porn. How the hell do you think these kids think that they can't get AIDS through anal sex or that if the guy pulls out, the girl can't get pregnant? I can tell you, it's not porn that does it.

I defend porn because I like it. I like watching it. I like getting off on it. I'm not going to knock sex workers because I don't know them. I do think that regardless of their choice of employment, they're human beings, and your [!@#$%^&*] stinks as much as theirs do. I think prostitution should be legal, but that's a whole different schpeel there. And no one's ever said that they were role models. Hell, I'm sure even Jenna Jameson would even say that she's not a role model at all.

We NEED sex education in schools, I don't care how much the naysayers whine about it. Otherwise, I think we should force them to pay for unplanned teen pregnancies and medical treatments for STD's.

The only bad thing about porn is that some of the ugliest people ever put on this earth, most with fake bodies, are being paid tons of money to screw on camera.

Wow, I completely disagree. And no, my [!@#$%^&*] *doesn't* stink as much as theirs. And that's because I FLUSH mine. They DUMP IT on others' chests like sick perverts.

So...no.

Um, that's the ONLY bad thing?

Not that it brainwashes several people? You certainly know that millions of people see these people as role models. Seriously. Porn stars do nothing for a living. Hell, the top stars get paid about $30k-$40k so what's even the point?! IT makes no sense, really.

    • Same here.  Anyone who voluntarily left Margo's penthouse set (except to go overseas or to Heaven) was immediately on my blacklist.  lol.

    • The penthouse was my favorite set... and it changed hands from Margo to Draper/April to Miles/Nicole then to just Miles... before he opted to give that beautiful place for that drab house with the even more drab Beth.  That was a jump the shark moment for me LOL
    • The storyline April and Draper are involved in during the summer/autumn of 1979 seems fairly "benign" but soon turns very serious.  April has a VERY intrusive, wealthy mother (Margo Huntington Dorn).  Margo knows that April and Draper (who've recently had a miscarriage and are theoretically never going to be able to conceive another baby) want to buy a house.  Margo hoodwinks them into buying a house they can't afford.  The house is listed at $100,000 (about $400,000 in today's dollars).  Margo pays the first $35,000 and leads Draper to believe the asking price of the house is $65,000 instead of $100,000.  If Draper finds out his meddling mother-in-law paid 1/3 of the cost of the home and tricked him, he'll be mad as hell.   Meanwhile, Draper has received a job offer from a prestigious New York law firm.  Margo pulls some strings and has the senior partner in the firm rescind the offer, to keep April in Monticello.  If Draper finds out about THAT, he'll be even angrier with Margo than he will be about the house trickery.  All of that is "bubbling under the surface" in the fall of 1979 but will be the next major story, as everything begins to spiral out of control.   Yep, you've got the Karrs and their very basic middle-class house, the Victorian-themed place where Miles and Nicole live, April and Draper's old craftsman house with the exposed beams, the Madisons & their Mission revival house, and Margo with her 1970s-chic penthouse.  Each of the sets is completely different.  And their budget was like zero, lol.
    • It felt weird and out of place.  I get it. While I agree with those on here that say he's gotten better, it's still really bad. I'm not seeing the "good" acting some see...but I'll give him a B for being better than when he first started. There's potential. I'll leave it at that.
    • It's like watching paint dry at a slow-ass pace. It's bad acting. Entirely. Excellent? With Claybon? Never. Ever.
