Beyond the Gates, BTG, Nicole Dupree, Daphnée Duplaix

On the Wednesday, September 9, 2026, episode of ‘Beyond the Gates’, Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) and Hayley (Marquita Goings) diagnosed Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett), Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller) said goodbye to his childhood home, and Heather (Ashley Jones) got a change-of-address card from Joey (Jon Lindstrom).

Black Widow (Bad Business)

Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) had asked Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) to join her and Kat (Colby Nixon) at Orphey Gene’s, but when Naomi got there, Chelsea was having a meltdown over her socials blowing up because ChelseaKat had backed out of its deal with Takahashi. Kat and Chelsea worried that their silence, stemming from their inability to tell their followers that the Japanese company supposedly used sweatshops, was damaging their brand and business, but lawyer Naomi advised the girls to say nothing to protect them legally, at least until Takahashi was exposed.

Naomi was annoyed after learning from Chelsea that Dani had called from Seoul to check on Bill. After Naomi left, Chelsea had trouble blocking out the online noise, but Kat reminded her that at least the Genoa City department store heiress, Lauren Fenmore, was still on their side, and that Chelsea had her upcoming wedding to Madison to look forward to. Somehow, Kat decided, they would weather the current crisis. Yet both cousins couldn’t help but wonder whether Allison was posting from behind bars to discredit ChelseaKat.

Trust…Who Do Ya?

Tyrell and Samantha (Najah Jackson) were hanging out at Orphey Gene’s when Heather approached them and attempted to engage them in conversation. The teens knew to keep quiet, but Heather persisted until Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix)arrived and saw Joey’s sister with her grandchildren. Samantha and Tyrell used the moment to make their escape, and Nicole remained chilly even while Heather continued to insinuate herself.

Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) blindfolded Joey and brought him into his renovated back room at the casino, which he didn’t seem excited about at first. It turned out he loved her revamp, and Vanessa said the project had been a great distraction considering her problems with Deanna. Just as Joey was suggesting that academic advisor Izaiah speak with Vanessa’s daughter, Nicole stormed in and demanded that Joey put a leash on his sister.

As Nicole complained that Heather was “everywhere,” and that she got a bad vibe from her, Joey sympathized, saying he didn’t know Heather the way he used to. Vanessa took up for the friendly Heather, but Nicole reiterated that Joey needed to keep his “damn sister” away from her grandkids. Later, Heather visited Joey, making a crack about how he was keeping his elimination of Doug a secret.

Joey reminded Heather that she’d been told to stay away from Smitty, which also meant staying away from his teenagers. When Joey added that it was time for Heather to return to London, Heather admitted that the time being closer to her brother again had meant the world. In an effort to gain his trust, Heather handed Joey a logbook of her “movements”…after which Heather grinned that the DMV was starting to feel like home.

HCBU There (Black College Anthem)

Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and June (Jasmine Burke) joined Martin (Brandon Claybon) and Smitty (Mike Manning) at the brownstone for Tyrell’s going away party ahead of his move to Banneker University. June gushed over her “college man,” and the family played a game, after which Nicole made her late entrance. Ted explained that he had run into problems with Shanice’s brothers, but Nicole was certain he’d be able to win them over. After all, Nicole winked, Ted had survived the Duprees.

Things got emotional as Tyrell wistfully recalled him and Samantha being brought home by Smitty and Martin “eight years ago” – and he confessed that, even though Banneker wasn’t far away, he would still miss everyone…even Samantha, he laughed. The burgeoning college student received hugs from one and all.

Smiling Faces Sometimes

In his office, Bill had trouble concentrating on his work and seemed woozy. Hayley entered with food she had brought him for lunch, but Bill said Caroline had already ordered food in for them. Noticing Bill’s peakedness, Hayley got nowhere asking about Bill’s condition and griped that he probably wouldn’t tell her if something was wrong.

Hayley not only wanted to see what Bill’s pacemaker app had to say, but she also wanted access to it. Bill refused to be micromanaged, which upset Hayley. He calmed down and elaborated that all his loved ones were hovering and that he knew what was best for himself. Naomi’s arrival prompted Hayley’s exit. Naomi called Bill out when he asked how Dani was doing in Korea. “Stop the madness,” Naomi huffed, though Bill replied that history bound people in unexpected ways.

Moving on to the subject of the suit against Madison, Naomi reported that Mike had created an opening by being late in presenting discovery materials. Naomi and Bill theorized that Mike might be using Madison’s mother as a cash grab, and Naomi had to admit she had been enjoying working with Bill on the case. Bill smiled that his firm was ready for Naomi to join any time she wanted.

Hayley tucked into an alley with Randy to get more poison from him. When she grumbled that Bill wasn’t succumbing to her “big-ass” doses, she began to wonder if he was building up a tolerance to the toxin. Randy went one step further and suggested that it might be affecting organs other than his heart, such as his brain. Hayley wanted to know how to speed things up and didn’t care if Bill wouldn’t divulge any health issues – as long as his family was in the dark, it would cover her tracks regarding finishing Bill off.

Hip-Hop Police

Jacob (Jibre Hordges) checked in with Elon (Malachi Malik), telling his father/chief that Smitty had made his second visit to Lia, hoping the stress of prison would make her more talkative, although ultimately it had not. Elon was not happy that Naomi had jumped in to represent Smitty and thought it was odd that Naomi had gone from being anxious over Jacob’s part in The Impaler case to actively becoming a part of it.

After Jacob defended Naomi for doing her job, he expressed his frustration that Elon seemed to disapprove of how he had handled things with Smitty. Elon was apprehensive about Jacob involving his wife and antagonizing Smitty’s congressman husband; Jacob cracked that Elon was known for looking the other way. Taking the point, Elon conceded that he didn’t want Jacob to make the same mistakes he had.

Afterward, Naomi came to see Jacob at the station, hoping they were still on solid ground as a couple after battling over Jacob’s questioning of Smitty. Jacob said that he didn’t love that they’d ended up at odds, but still praised Naomi for doing what she had to do. Naomi hoped that Jacob would find what he needed to bust The Impaler, eyeing him fretfully when he declared that he wouldn’t stop until the case was solved.
