Marcy Walker, A Martinez, Santa Barbara

On Sunday, June 7, soap veterans Marcy Walker and A Martinez, who portrayed the iconic supercouple Eden Capwell and Cruz Castillo on “Santa Barbara,” will reunite during an exclusive global livestream hosted by Melissa Braverman, author of the upcoming book “Santa Barbara: The Complete Story.”

The special two-hour virtual event, dubbed “A Martinez and Marcy Walker: In Conversation,” will begin at 4:00 p.m. ET and feature the actors recalling favorite memories from the beloved daytime drama series and offering behind-the-scenes insights into some of the show’s most famous location shoots and dramatic storylines.

“A Martinez and Marcy Walker didn’t just play a couple. They created a cultural phenomenon that resonated across continents,” said Braverman. “This event is a rare opportunity for fans to hear directly from A and Marcy about their chemistry, their favorite storylines, and the lasting impact of the show’s unique storytelling.”

As Eden and Cruz on the much-missed NBC daytime drama series, Walker and Martinez transformed a fictional romance into a cultural sensation that garnered unparalleled international attention, which remains relevant more than three decades later.

Currently starring in AMC’s “Dark Winds,” Martinez won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama Series in 1990 for his portrayal of Cruz and has since starred in several other soap operas, including “General Hospital,” “One Life to Live,” “Days of our Lives,” “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Bay.” His primetime credits also include “L.A. Law,” “For the People,” “Longmire” and “Queen of the South,” among others.

After “Santa Barbara,” Walker reprised her role as Liza Colby on “All My Children.” She won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Daytime Drama Series in 1989 for her portrayal on the ABC soap opera.

“A and Marcy’s partnership as Cruz and Eden was unforgettable,” says Braverman. “Bringing them together for a dedicated conversation about their SB journey is a true event, and a testament to their enduring appeal and the sheer popularity of the characters they created.”

Tickets to the event cost $100 per person, and ticket holders can submit questions for the actors to answer during the livestream up to 48 hours before the event begins. Questions can be submitted via the event’s official Facebook page, though only the host will be able to ask them, as video and audio will be automatically muted for ticket holders throughout the event.

Wow! To get and see Marcy again - amazing!

It cannot be overstated how much of SaBa's success for a time was due to A Martinez and Marcy Walker. When MW left, followed by AM, the show was as good as dead.

Getting to work with Marcy Walker is among the very best things that ever happened to me –– a stroke of remarkably good luck, pure and simple. To be paired with one another on #SantaBarbara was a turn of grace that nourished the two of us profoundly, both as actors and people. Truth be told, Cruz and Eden as a couple were not originally slated to carry the weight that fate and wonderful writing eventually laid on them, but when our chance in the light came, Marcy and I moved with purpose, side by side, to meet it. We’re gonna fire up Zoom for a couple of hours this June 7th –– to talk about life, those days, and more. We have a lot to catch up on and look forward as well to answering as many questions as we can. Our longtime friend @melissabwriter will be moderating the conversation. The link to purchase tickets is in my bio and we surely hope to see you there.

Update from A Martinez, May 18, 2026.
in this instagram video, he clarifies that the reason for the high ticket price is that it's a fundraiser for Marcy's medical needs. Info within his video:

As we approach June 7th, where Marcy Walker and I will LiveCast with our friend Melissa Braverman to dive into the legacy of Cruz and Eden, I wanted to clarify our thinking about the tickets. It’s pretty simple, but easy to misunderstand: we need to raise money to address a real and urgent need. I should have made that clear from the jump but didn’t, and I offer my my apologies for the mistake.

Playing that star-crossed couple was a high point in both our lives –– and the story of their journey together meant a lot to a lot of people –– but we’ve never really taken the time to look back at those those days with an appetite to speak the details of how and why it happened. Guided by questions, we’re hoping to remedy that on June 7th. Nothing more and nothing less. The link for tickets is in my bio. Meanwhile, we are grateful for all the lovely energy that people have sent this week and we’re going to do our best to send it back.

Now this one of the ways that classic soaps should be promoted, though I am sorry to hear that Marcy has been having medical issues.
