Especially when you consider that Taylor has now played Roman the longest. (Look, I have nothing against the man, but if he had to come back, it should have been as his former Chris Kositchek character! Even almost 30 years on, I still don't think of him as Roman Brady.)

Oh, same. He's never worked as Roman. Seems like a nice guy and all, but I would have replaced Taylor when they got Wayne back to play the hideous role of Alex North instead. And used old Roman and Marlena flashbacks!!!!!

Oh, that disaster was epic. Yeah, Wayne should have just returned as Roman. Maybe explain JT's Roman as Chris Kositchek with a mind-altering brain chip. (On this show, it would work. But then, how to explain the Bradys having been so dumb? LOL!)

Northrop's Roman should have moved into story with the Laura/Bill/Kate/Victor/Vivian crowd. They never played that group, especially Kate/Bill/Laura, to their full potential and it still grinds my gears.

Emmerdale Farm: Both after the fact, but the first I'll mention is the plane crash episodes, which work so beautifully as a separate piece of work all to itself. I'll always mourn of how much more mature and daring shows could be then. And then Jack Sugden's funeral, which I strongly believe is the absolute best funeral/memorial episode of a long time a character ever to be done on any soap opera.

I'd buy it. Drake was significantly taller than Wayne and Marlena never noticed Roman was an entire different man even though, um, they were married lol.

Very easily could have moved into the Laura/Kate/Victor crowd since he ended up with Kate anyway. You still could have used him in the Kristen/Tony/John/Marlena story too.

I also could have seen him, ego bruised, move onto a younger woman temporarily. Maybe Roman/Billie could have happened earlier if Lisa Rinna hadn't left. Would have been much more pliable with them two and potentially could have been more honest drama for Bo and Hope than the bottle storylines they got for the rest of JER's tenure.

You can't mention iconic moments and Emmerdale (Farm) without mentioning the moment when Kim stood over her dying husband Frank, took out her mirror and freshened up her makeup.

I know @Khan and I discussed years ago how we would've liked to see Wayne's Roman with Lisa Rinna's Billie down the road. I think it could've worked as late as the 2000s into the end of the decade if not later, before Lisa became really hard to pin down due to her Bravo career. But oh well.

Now that I'm thinking about it...

Y&R...Ryan's Death. After decades of together and apart and a looooooooot of drama, Victoria finally made it back to her first love. And on the day that she is supposed to marry him, she walks into the dressing room...to see someone in the same wedding dress as her, back turned away. The music cues build as she first asks if the stranger is lost. Cuz she is getting married there today. Then she realized they are wearing the same wedding dress. The whole time...silence. Finally, she demands to know who it is and for the stranger to turn around. And...she does...revealing an unhinged Tricia Dennison...who was supposed to be on lockdown per Victor. Ryan's slowly unraveled (back when Y&R told slow burn tales) ex-wife. BOOM. Friday cliffhanger.

The following week was just as good. But all Hades broke loose leading to Tricia trying to shoot Victoria at the altar. And Ryan jumping in front of Victoria, saving her.

Oh yes! Absolutely loved that scene (and the entire story that preceded it). Tricia is one of my favorite villains of all time and Sabyn Genet played her perfectly. Shame she never came back.

Yep, we did, lol!

The last 35+ years of DAYS have been nothing but bad moves, missed opportunities and broken promises. But ol' man Corday, he just keeps rollin' along.

Don't worry, I'm sure Josh Griffith has THAT on his to-do list, too, lol.

WN's Roman/LR's Rinna could have worked. I can see it especially post-Hope coming back.

I could also envision a story where Marlena/Roman reunite and Roman can't accept Belle and John being her father, Sami's rape and scheming plus Carrie/Austin's relationship and Eric's unwillingness to come home drive them apart once again. I wouldn't change the 90's John/Marlena arc much, but it almost feels like an unfinished story for Roman/Marlena. I suppose they needed Roman out of the way for the Possession.

Sidenote-Whatever happened to Sabryn Genet. I never watched much Y&R, but I always thought she was so beautiful and going to be a star.

That was the first soap death I’d watched that really hit to me. I’d started watching the show around the time Ryan and Victoria were first dating. Ryan just seemed like he’d always be there and the wedding was really built up after years of Ryan and Victoria being apart. I will admit it was really good television though! Whatever happened to Tricia? Did she go off to jail after she shot Ryan, never to be seen again or did they bring her back on the show later?

IIRC, Tricia was carted off to the sanitarium, because she had delusions that Carter, a.k.a. Matt, was still alive (which he was, I guess, lol) and conspiring with her.

If I ALSO recall correctly, too, Tricia raped Victor not TOO long before she shot and killed Ryan. So, there's always a chance that she could show up in GC with another one of Victor's long-lost, illegitimate children.

And now that I've written Josh Griffith's story projections for the Summer FOR him, I'm off to take a much-needed vacay.

Haha I haven't watched Y&R in more than 10 years now, so I don't care at this point, but I have seen that he has been bringing back random villains from the past without proper story, which is sad.

I LOVED Ryan and Victoria. They are one of my all time favorite couples.

She did rape Victor. Omg, Tricia coming back with Victor's child! Wow! And since that was in 2001 (IIRC), this child (lets say, son) would now be in its 40s if SORAS is applied they way the normally apply it. They would turn this child into a lunatic that would kidnap Nikki to torment Victor and then finally kidnap Victor before being killed in a struggle, where Grandpa Victor overpowers a much young guy.

Wait, WHAT? I saw the whole storyline but I don’t even remember Tricia having many scenes with Victor. I remember her connection with Matt Clark but that’s it.
