Renée Elise Goldsberry, Darren Criss, Tony Awards

“One Life to Live” alum Renée Elise Goldsberry (ex-Evangeline Williamson) and Darren Criss (“Glee”) are set to host “The Tony Awards: Act One,” a live pre-show containing exclusive content available to viewers for free on Pluto TV, the streaming television service owned by Paramount Global.

The broadcast is set to take place from 6:40-8:00 p.m. ET/3:40-5:00 p.m. PT on Sunday, June 8 with the duo presenting the first round of Tony Awards, immediately preceding “The 78th Annual Tony Awards,” which airs LIVE coast to coast on CBS from 8:00-11:00 p.m. ET/5:00-8:00 p.m. PT, hosted by Cynthia Erivo (“Wicked”), from Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Criss earned his first Tony Award nomination this year for his performance as Oliver in “Maybe Happy Ending,” and Goldsberry won a Tony Award for originating the role of Angelica Schuyler in “Hamilton.”

In addition to hosting, Goldsberry will be part of the original Broadway cast of “Hamilton” for a 10th anniversary performance. Additional cast includes Carleigh Bettiol, Andrew Chappelle, Ariana DeBose, Alysha Deslorieux, Daveed Diggs, Jonathan Groff, Sydney James Harcourt, Neil Haskell, Sasha Hutchings, Christopher Jackson, Thayne Jasperson, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Stephanie Klemons, Morgan Marcell, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Javier Muñoz, Leslie Odom, Jr., Okieriete Onaodowan, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Jon Rua, Austin Smith, Phillipa Soo, Seth Stewart, Betsy Struxness, Ephraim Sykes and Voltaire Wade-Greene.

This special reunion celebrates the extraordinary legacy of “Hamilton,” marking 10 years since it first took Broadway by storm and redefined the cultural landscape while making history with a record-breaking 16 nominations and 11 wins, including Best Musical, at “The 70th Annual Tony Awards.” The show went on to receive several more prestigious awards including a GRAMMY, an Olivier Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, plus a special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors. More recently, its original Broadway cast recording became the first in history to be certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

In June, Goldsberry will release her debut album, titled “Who I Really Am.”

The Tony Awards are produced in collaboration with Tony Award Productions, a joint venture of the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League, and White Cherry Entertainment. Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss are executive producers and showrunners for White Cherry Entertainment. Weiss will serve as director.

Aww...I love both of them!  When I saw the headline with the 2 names, I was hoping it was going to be a new scripted dramedy.

It's a shame OLTL/ABC didn't use Renee/Evangeline to the fullest extent possible when they had her.
