Webmaster Errol Posted January 26 Webmaster Share Posted January 26 Less than 30 days until the premiere episode of “Beyond the Gates,” and CBS has finally released the first full-length trailer and key art for the daytime drama series. In the trailer, viewers are treated to tales of betrayal, blackmail, secrets, a wedding, and a figurative funeral with the Duprees family agreeing that they must work together to keep a semblance of normalcy in their everyday lives. Expanding on the Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) storyline, we learn that not only is her ex-husband, Bill Hamilton (Timon Durrett), set to marry the woman he cheated with, but Bill also has some dirt on the family through his experience with getting them out of some tough situations, particularly Dani’s father, Vernon (Clifton Davis). One of the most quotable lines in the trailer came from Dani’s sister, Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson (Daphnee Duplaix) and Bill’s fiancee, Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings) discussing the latter’s relationship with Bill. “I fell in love with an inconvenient man,” Hayley tells Nicole, who retorts, “Now you have to deal with inconvenient consequences. You see how that works?” The trailer closes with a confident Dani telling Hayley, “See you around the neighborhood.” Watch the full-length trailer below. Members Liberty City
It's positively delicious; over one-minute of delicious writing, directing and acting. Beyond the Gates is about to bring us what we've been missing from American daytime for decades.
Members BrendaB
Did CBS greenlight this because of how Y&R stayed #1 so long due to its black audience or because of the success of Tyler Perry's soapy series? I love the pedigree of the cast (they need to bring the female lead from AMEN back too, she was the funniest) and writers, but fictional lifestyles of the mildly rich & spoiled just doesn't seem all that compelling when soapy reality shows like The Kardashians are already a decade stale and you've got actual billionaire technocrats ruling an enslaved world. Having said that, I hope this show is a wild success for CBS so it inspires the resurrection of Pine Valley and/or Llanview on ABC.
Members Wendy
I like everyone cast in this soap. And I like that it has diversity. I'm just afraid in the current climate, with current push back against said diversity and resentment towards the wealthy (hello, Luigi Mangione!) that this is not the most opportune time for a soap surrounding both. But I sincerely hope against hope that it thrives. Daytime needs a resurgence.
