-- Joss's ego is enormous. She really thinks Cyrus is covering his tracks only because she told him she thinks he's the killer? Yeah, because most killers don't try to cover their tracks.

-- Is anyone calling for more appearances by Stephen A? I have no idea what Frank's obsession is with this Brick character.

With his recent media tour claiming he was guilted to vote for Kamala and shaming anyone who criticizes Snoop Dogg or Nelly, I have even less interest than before. He's not a bad screen presence but I'm not sure what the point is. Between this and the football story is Frank or ABC trying to get more male viewers? If it's an attempt at getting more black viewers, then the best way to do that would be not having such clear contempt for your black cast.

After a pretty solid few weeks, every episode was can't miss for me, Thursday's ep was a real STINKER. I should've been here praising those episodes but I was too busy enjoying them I guess, instead now I'm back to say the most recent ep stunk. Clunky dialogue, terrible flirtatious dialogue (Liz/Lucky, Sonny/Natalia, Cody/Molly, even Ric and Ava!), odd pacing.

What time of the night is it exactly? Okay fine Laura's working late at the office but the mayor calling someone, in this case...Jenz (Jesus Christ) Sidwell, at what looks like 10pm is just weird.

Speaking of weird, so we have Joss allegedly in the throes of her grief telling Lucas how she's hell-bent on justice for Dex...with hairclips in her hair? It's fine that they added a cute moment but she kept them in her hair the entire episode. It was distractingly dumb. She's talking about the serial killer who murdered her boyfriend here, have her do a bit of business where she removes the goddamn multi-colored hairclips.

I'm sorry but a scene with Maurice Benard, who barely bothers to act, Stephen A. Smith, who cannot act, and Eva LaRue, who doesn't know why she's here but she needs the health insurance, is almost torturous.

I guess Jordan, Alexis and Kristina were all together at the bar interacting??? The energy was so muted. I blame the writing mostly but the director didn't know what to do with any of that (can't blame them!). Then again it could all just be that this Jordan acts every scene as if she's meeting her co-stars for the first time. Goodness, she is so pretty but NOTHING is going on there. It's the same tone and expression no matter what's happening.

I hate to say it but if they wanted to push forward with this Jenz Sidwell guy as new PC resident and lady charmer they really should've cast someone a little...ya know? I mean, he ain't ugly but he's also barely 5'8" with a questionable accent. We already have a pint-sized egomaniac!

I'm all over the place...like that episode! Kristina's opening was a ho hum affair, what was even the point? This town didn't need ANOTHER place to sit down and banally speak about nothing. She's not having any first day mishaps, there's no big opening speech, no crowd, it's just...here's her new lounge! She looks so at ease on their opening day, just pouring drinks in her little ponytail. Her bartender got arrested? No skin off her nose! She'll just do it herself! You know, it's not like she's the owner or anything.

And why the hell isn't Lucky immediately going back to work! It's opening day! You just got the job! Yes, yes, Serial Killer Cyrus > Charli's but yeesh, at least let him show some urgency. Just a quick "oh shiz I gotta get back to work!".

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
