Members carolineg
I don't pay much attention to Dex, but he seems the same to me? Maybe his hair did change a bit. I wouldn't say Dex ever had a lisp, but he's always had moments of mumbled enunciation. I think the "rumors" about Dex being related to a legacy character are just pure fanfiction. I don't think they were ever credible. Although Sasha being Holly/Robert's daughter was never on my bingo card, so who knows?
Members Liberty City
The whole cast has it. It's poor editing , and poor filming. If they didn't rush-block produce scenes they could correct these things. It's not the first time he has done it, nor anyone else. I've noticed, on multiple occasions, that Laura Wright has fumbled names/words over the past four or so years.
Members carolineg
Oh, I agree. EH has some sort of accent (Midwestern maybe?) that sometimes makes his words sound a bit jumbled. They could easily re-shoot that. I have noticed LW make errors before, but I sort of think it works with Carly as a character? She gets so worked up over something and needs to say what she's thinking immediately. I actually don't mind the fumbling every now and then because it's true to real life, but it's difficult to endure when you can see Mo searching into thin air for his next line lol.
Members Liberty City
Maurice Benard is checked out, and clearly looking for some kind of line card, lmao. He looks lost most of the time in his scenes.
Members Contessa Donatella
And, with Mo, what we're seeing is change. He never used to do this. Now he does. And, for that reason we notice.
Members carolineg
MB often looks down too so I wonder if lines are written on the floor for him or something? MB has been fumbling his lines for years now. He used to be more natural at it, but it's been a problem for at least 20 years. He also likes to whisper and mumble which makes it very difficult to hear him sometimes. The quicker paced, out of order format is clearly not for him.
Members Liberty City
Would not surprise me, or is he looking for his marks? OPE!
Members Contessa Donatella
Well, of course, he calls himself a method actor, so some of that goes with the territory. It's the increased frequency that alarms me.
Members Maxim
One of the reasons I couldn't continue watching this show... when I tried this year... was the Sonny character and the actor playing it. Unbearable to me. Just not my cup of tea... I've never bothered to share this anywhere, since... who cares in the end. People like what they like and people don't like what they don't like. Even the voice is like hearing nails on chalkboard to me, honestly. I hope nobody gets offended. Just... every time he's in a scene... it's like this depressing vibe comes over and not in a good way.
Members Contessa Donatella
I guess I've watched GH since '93 & then, like now, I hate Sonny. Always have, still do, probably always will. It's not the actor, at least I don't think it is. It is the character, plain & simple. But, you know, I know a lot of GH fans & a lot of them, hate Sonny, always have, always will. It's just a thing. But, and perhaps this is strange, but it doesn't keep us from liking the show.

Members carolineg
I like Sonny more than most, but Mo/Sonny are certainly not above criticism. He just used to be a lot better. I don't find him depressing, per se, I just know he used to be able to do a lot more. I am very sympathetic to his personal health struggles and Sonny's also given me great memories. Sometimes people do need to know when it's closing time on a character and I do think Sonny is long past that point.
Members titan1978
It’s kind of shocking because even at the end, if Tony Geary wanted to, he could still sometimes do good work. And I haven’t seen anything from MB in about 5 years that I would say was good. I think the shooting schedule and a decade plus of writing that doesn’t know how to utilize him or Sonny has really done him in. And that is before mentioning his personal struggles. It does often seem like he has lost his character and can’t bring it forward under this type of writing. It is strange the show has somehow lost the core of Sonny, Jason, and Carly, but refuses to move them away from the center longterm, and IMO they are all floundering right now.
Members carolineg
I agree. I think the last time I remember Sonny/Mo doing really good work was at the tail end of the Brenda return and some of his work with Kate 2.0. I am hesitant to say Mo doesn't care or isn't trying, but that's what it feels like. He seems to be just coasting along going from typical Sonny emo story to another. IMO, even Steve's Jason has a stronger point of view. Carly is so hit or miss it's hard to tell, but that's more writing than Laura Wright.
Members Contessa Donatella
I think you're right about all 3. Mo is not where he once was. Steve it seems to me is at a better place than prior, which makes me think he got something out of the year at DAYS. LW gives as good as she gets. Sometimes that is very good, but not always & I think that is the writing. I did think the other day that she & Charles Mesure do that great thing when actors elevate their writing to better than it actually is, which is something Finola does often. Genie CAN do it, but doesn't always. I read today that Genie's husband, Jonathan Frakes, is directing the first episode of some Star Trek & that Tatiana Masley is in it. Now, I've drifted, sorry.
