Oh, lord have mercy! I can't! The amount of propping that was going on for Sonny. I can almost take slighted writing over writing where characters sit/stand/dance and go on and on and on over a character who is usually not all that and a bag of chips. So all this Sonny talk...at this point I could almost throw something at my tv. The only good thing I can say about Sonny right now...is that he looked good in that red shirt. JS.

And given my feelings over Sonny/Dante and Dante's internal feelings, you know I was seeing red over his 'dilemma.' Good to see that with the fate of Lulu and Sam slowly, but surely approaching that I'll be seeing more of DZ on my screen and Dante in the mix. The conflict just did not feel the same as it usually did. Definitely a little more plot, a little less character regardless of the fact that Dante was confiding in his BFF Cody. But it could be because it was giving that 'wacka wacka' humor the New/Old Writers like to pop into moments that just don't need it. That said, I didn't mind Dante being the Friday cliffhanger though I hope given the amount of separation of Dante as cop/Dante as Sonny's son drama we have gotten this year that it will not destroy that growing conflict.

You know what? I totally forgot that Lucas is Julian's son so I was wondering why he was running into Ava outside of the actors being on ATWT. A case of the recast. But I liked those scenes overall. Another way to get a softer side of Ava.

Uh oh! Not Brad realizing what Portia did. Portia who has been all up in his face. Now that WAS juicy.

Liz stay being love.

Ooooo yes. The way I gasped when Molly dropped that file on the desk. The file I've been mentioning in the PM thread months ago! The plot thread that I was really excited about when PM was in charge outside of the Sins of the Father storyline. I was like Yes, Molly! Tell Anna about herself! Cuz that was ridiculous.

On the other hand, I find it interesting that the New/Old Writers keep finding ways to pick at old PM threads. But...I'll take they are at least mentioned versus how they tried to make them abruptly vanish.

Hahahaha. Well, that looks like a job for AVA to me, Doctor Robinson. But that...is at her discretion. lol. Seriously though, I would say the highlight of the day was Portia vs Brad. As Brad lorded over those results with her name on it.

I'm sorry, but Liz might be mad at him, but she suuuuure does light up more and Feisty Liz comes out when she's around Ric. JS. Them and the scenes surrounding the gun was hilarious. And no, I don't like Terry tried to prop up Lucky to Liz when Liz was not thinking or studying Lucky today.

How I hollered at how Molly shades and slights Kristina every chance she can get. I almost want it to never end. Or I hope for a good moment where Molly slaps her. And AMEN!! to Molly saying what I was thinking...Alexis would not have been in that position (even if it was her choice) if it was not for Kristina.

So Alexis is FINALLY free and her law degree is STILL intact. Ooooh happy day. Martin was the MVP for me as he tore into Anna, delayed Dante having to pick a side he claimed he would never pick, and Sonny again got to be smug with Diane. It gave me moments that I liked but it's that wacka wacka writing style that I don't like with these New/Old Writers. Also I'm never here for Anna being made a fool of period. And it felt like her projecting onto Dante. Who is put on a leave of absence as of today meaning this week and next are our doozy weeks.

Did I mention how much I love Ric being back? Love those scenes with Curtis and with of course Liz.

And a nice cliffhanger for a Monday. A red herring or a potential rewrite? I guess we are about to find out.

After watching this episode, it crystallised that things are back to how they were before, writing and character-wise… plus I’m getting a sense of where one or two plots may be going… I’m out.

Life’s too short and I’m finalising my own literature for publishing so I’m dropping GH until something fundamentally changes.

In the grand scheme of things, I’m nobody to make this ‘declaration’, but I really enjoyed the attempt at something different earlier this year- as imperfect as it was initially, so the return to Valentini ‘factory settings’ and my own personal situation was enough for me.

And today sealed it for me.

Here’s hoping Beyond The Gates starts well…

I enjoyed seeing Laura with Kevin and her brothers. If they have returned, why is Ace still with the Quartermaines?

Lois and Olivia are redundant. Have Olivia run away with Steve when he returns and put Ned back with Lois.

i am surprised that the show is keeping both Sasha and Cody and getting rid of Sam.

ELQ has dropped Valentin from the company. Valentin is not returning to the show. Sam’s death will be another Cassadine removed from the show.

Jane E is a master but they keep making the same play over and over again. Tracy is overbearingly mean the first half of an episode and then someone tells her off and she reveals what’s really bothering her. It was interesting the first few times we saw this set up but now I’m bored tbh and that goes for all of the Quartermaine’s.

I hate that the Chillow fans have gotten their way and zapped all of the heat out of the Drew/Willow/Michael story so now Ned has to play the bad guy.

Cody and Sasha continue to be as entertaining as watching paint dry and the only interest I have in this Violet nonsense is Finn coming back and picking his brat up so we never have to see her again.

Seeing Martin and Cyrus again just gives me the old ick CVE’s last regime provoked whenever I’d try to tune in. I guess I’ll take Laura running around with them instead of Heather Webber though.

Everything with Sam is just awkward to watch knowing where everything is likely headed

Isaiah and Elizabeth were probably the only scenes I enjoyed today but even those weren’t all that interesting

    • Ohh, interesting. I instantly gravitated towards her in that episode. Of course I'm already hooked and want to know why she was trying to poison that older lady, but then how did the older lady know to switch the mugs so Susan drank her own poison...  but I have too many timelines I'm watching right now haha.  Oh, Bolger is definitely hot. I didn't realize he was on GL haha. I knew him from OLTL and other primetime stuff.
    • This is a effin shame. Eff Trump and eff the bastards that enable him.
    • I 100% agree but I think this is due to how the show is structured. It's a one family show which means there are no people in her age range that could be used as friends or contemporaries of her. The show definitely needs a second main family. I am glad someone finally said this. Especially now that the cast is gelling in their roles, he stands out like a sore thumb. No energy, no chemistry with anybody. He is just there.  I thought that was odd as well! The previous scene would've worked better as a tag for the credits.
    • That's the one and only Carrie Nye (Mrs. Dick Cavett) as Susan Piper, a deadly realtor. I don't want to spoil a lot if you ever want to see those episodes. She returns as another character in 2003. I think Grant has aged well and he always did a good job at being ripped without going too far, but he was never entirely my cup of tea either. I did think John Bolger was hot.
    • Totally agree. KKL looks great! It makes the Widge groveling so bizarre. Brooke needs to leave FC and with $B's/Liam's funding launch a rival fashion house with Hope, Rick, Katie and a secret designer. The best scenario is that Rick has been absent because he's been with very much alive C2, who is revealed on the runway as the secret designer. It'll never happen because B&B is comfortable just focusing on FC and the Forresters Marones v. Logans. But it'd been so much more interesting if the Spencers/Logans united.

    • Haha that scarf thing did go on a bit too long, very odd. And what a young Rick!  I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I just never got the physical appeal of Grant Aleksander, but he's definitely a great actor. Who is the older lady around the 8:30 mark, and also ends the episode, alone and in pain? She seems like a really interesting character. I love the smoky voice and sultry, snaky vibe she seems to have.
    • I can't remember exactly but I think she lives in or is part of the cottage story with Carrie. Carrie poisons her in this episode.  I forgot Teresa was on the show. (I see that AI is insisting she wasn't - well they're wrong) Poor Maeve. I can how even she had her limits.
    • It pisses me off that the other Duprees are making this incident all about them as well. They are playing a family of victims, acting as if Ted cheated on all of them. They should be supportive, but not like this. I have a family that makes anything that happens to me personally all about them, and seeing the same thing on TV is rage-inducing.
    • There are the makings of good Emmy reels in these past couple of episodes, but the industry is still going to favor even the most mediocre stories and performances on the older soaps. And with the pressure from the government over race I can see the academy shutting out Beyond The Gates to avoid criticism from the administration and the far right media.
