No.  DJ died in Marlena/Don's shared apartment. That's also where Kellam raped her.  Marlena had moved by the time Sam died.  I think Gwen Davies was her roomate at the time.  It's definitely two different sets.  I think Marlena moves again after into some sort of penthouse, then marries Roman, and they obviously live in the Brady house until John buys Marlena the awesome penthouse after Belle's birth and then we move on to the current Townhouse/Penthouse of today.

I remember Bo & Hope's house was a repurposed Jack & Jennifer house with a different kitchen setting and backyard (when used). Unfortunately, nowadays, the Bo & Hope house is represented by that small room with all those tacky mis-matched prints all over the room that is also dressed for many various bedrooms.

I think the last time we saw Caroline & Shawn Brady's house was when Leann Rimes played a runaway, and had her talk-to discussions with Kimberly Brady (who popped in a few times) and Jensen Ackles' Eric in spring of 1998.

Before that, they used it around late summer 1996 when Sami's baby Will was stolen. Why do I remember such random stuff.

And yes, the Martin house set was a wasted opportunity.

Got you.  I am doing this mostly from memory so I could be wrong.  I never saw full episodes of this era but just by judging from the clips I have I can tell some sets are different.  I have a clip post Roman proposing and Anna appearing with Carrie where Marlena buys/rents some sort of penthouse.  It may have been Alex's?  Soapcentral just says various locations for her homes before 1983, but lists the same address as the OG Penthouse as her current home so they might be wrong.  Unless this penthouse is supposed to be the 90's penthouse with a different set like GH's Sonny's penthouse set now.

I forgot, until reading it tonight, that it was Julie's Penthouse from 1990-1993 before they reused the set for Marlena's Penthouse in 1994.

Belle & Shawn's Den (which at the time was also used as Hernandez Den). Now they have brought back Hernandez Kitchen.

Thanks!  That mostly lines up with my memories of clips.  I think Don/Marlena's apartment was the same just without Don because he moved in with Liz?  I get a little confused with that as well, but it appears that Marlena rents the Penthouse after all the serial killer stuff, so the Roman/Marlena initial scenes are in her/Don's apartment.

Marlena's Apartment (9/29/76-6/29/77)

Marlena's Gate House (7/5/77-3/5/79)

Wonder why they moved Marlena to a new apartment after 6 months on the show?

Did Don have a residence before marrying Marlena? He had been on the show for years by that stage, but maybe he was always at the office, Doug's place or visiting other people's homes?

Probably. I guess they didn't know Marlena would take off as a character (she was obviously there to fill in for Laura initially) so her first apartment set was just likely a re-dressed temporary set that they didn't give much thought into. I guess once it was obvious she was taking off on the canvas they probably wanted to give her something more "her".

Yeah..I think Deidre either was recurring or had a short term contract starting out, so once the show decided to keep Marlena they just gave her a set.  The gatehouse set was pretty cute.

Speaking of sets that I liked, I loved John/Isabella's loft.  I know tons of people lived there, but I always thought the set up of the place was cool.  They brought it back for KL's Brady and it just disappeared after a few years.  It would be a great place for Brady/Tate to currently live.

That loft lived on into JER 2.0. It was where Belle and Philip lived when they were married, and Shawn and Mimi had an apartment across the hall (which later was redone into Sami & Rafe's place and then into the Ciara/Claire/Tripp apartment). I'm guessing the last time we saw the loft was maybe 2006-07?

    • That was my point really. These anniversary party scenes are the first ones, and now they won't be able to use them (meaning these actual scenes, as aired, with OG Ted). They can recreate them but I doubt they will spring for all the extras to come back and film and recreate everything, so it will be more like tight closed in shots of Ted with one or two other actors, or snippets of Leslie's original speech where Ted wasn't visible. It would be hard to recapture the original energy of the scenes are as they were filmed in their full context. I just think that's too bad, but maybe they will prove me wrong. I never really saw what was so off in his portrayal to warrant a recast, anyway, so that colors my perception as well.
    • Yeah, and quite honestly, are there really that many scenes that are flashback-worthy at this point in the run?
    • I know at one point they were on Hulu & i-Tunes. I just checked it on JustWatch.com & it indicates 1 season on Prime Video & on AppleTV. Have fun!
    • That era is so weird...they made a big deal out of all three of those characters and then they just..disappeared! Not that I am complaining. We talk about the bad out of character writing for Alex under JFP..but this was one example that may have led them to write her being so obsessive with Nick.  WHY would Alex accept Flock of Seagulls guy as her brother? They had her in one scene (setting up the Alan return) complain that Alan abandoned her...she blackmailed him into leaving town and she had been angry at him for helping Brandon with Lujack and also using Spaulding for that dumb dreaming death thing. Endless scenes of her with Simon, I can't believe Bev wasn't bored to death! I would also add Pam writing the scene where she lets Ms. Sally die in front of her to protect Alan and  the writing for Alex could be screwy even before JFP.
    • On this day 34 years ago the final episode of Dallas and came in at an astonishing #2 in the ratings after two straight seasons of weak ratings. Interesting Knots was #27 for that week as well:

    • Thank you for clearing that up. I wasn't watching GL regularly yet at that point, but seems to me I should have remembered the big wedding after Leslie's death (which I do remember) described in the profile. Is there a web archive of SOD summaries, or are referring to your own personal collection?
    • I was bummed that 2.0 ended because Mcpherson (headwriter) had really set up some interesting stories and we never got to find out where the stories would go once they resumed production on 'season 2'. I remembered the EP (Ginger Smith) and a lot of the stars gave a lot of credit to McPherson being able to come in on very short notice and come up with stories/plots (I think it was a very short turnaround time of a few weeks).  It was nice that she got to redeem herself after her year long Days stint was not well reviewed/liked.

    • It seems like a setup for failure to review a single episode of a soap, but Cleveland Amory was a foolish man.  His taste was so predictable, that one wondered why bother reviewing a medium he so clearly disliked. (found on Facebook retro TV group) Another case in point of his misogyny from his review of Dark Shadows (Can you imagine the magazine with the widest circulation in the country insulting its customer in this way today?)
