See, this is the sentiment I was somewhat surprised to see from a GH/KeMo fan, that all things being equal that anything can happen because they are soaps.

Did today's episode seem off to anyone? Obviously it did to me.

Have y'all heard about the copyright strikes going on in DAYS fandom?

Not really sure why we didn’t get to see Victoria’s 1st birthday party. The way people were speaking about it, you’d think we missed an episode or something.

But there were a lot of good scenes and movement in storylines today though. Holly teaming up with EJ to find evidence to convict Brady could actually be really good. And I really hope that the two of them teaming up together, along with the truth coming out about Eric leads to a lot of problems for her and Tate. They’re the young couple and they should be put through a lot before they finally get their happily ever after lol

Brady was kinda stupid today but I thought EM did a good job. Plus, it did seem in character for him. Btw, did Paul Telfer flub his line when Xander confronted Brady? “She saw your face behind the car that mowed her down?”

Eric/Marlena was really good too. This is how Marlena should be used; being there for her kids, not for Ron’s obsessions. I’m looking forward to her scenes tomorrow with Sarah.

Why would Steve/Kayla get more family scenes than John/Marlena?  John and Marlena have multiple family members on canvas.  Steve/Kayla can't sit around and talk to Stephanie all day.  It's clear Ron favors John/Marlena over Steve/Kayla, but there isn't much more for them to do as family besides talk to Stephanie about her boy problems.

I'm trying to catch up. I've seen last Thursday, Friday and Monday's episodes. I've got say how impressed I was with in particular Friday and Monday's episodes. Thursday's episode wasn't bad either. Did Ron leave already?

As dumb as I think it is when characters talk to themselves out loud on soaps, I am amused by Fiona and FAbby talking to portraits of dead guys.  Once a week would've gone unnoticed, but when they use the same troupe in back to back episodes, it seems ridiculous.

Because never, in the history of humankind, has a person in real life walked into a room and overheard someone confessing their nefarious plans out loud.

No. He said she's seeing Marlena so she can remember seeing your face behind the car that mowed her down. Maybe should have been wheel? I was more distracted by Fiona calling Brady Xander's cousin. We did for years but she's known all along he's his nephew.

I liked Victor judging her silently

I'm aware of a lot of DAYS fans who are unhappy about how the show spends Steve, Kayla & Stephanie's time & how little family attention Stayla gets. Now, I'm not sure they hold up Brady/Evans/Black for comparison or are critical of that family time that we do get. I think they don't do that. But I think they're right that we mostly get Kayla at the hospital, Steve as half of Black Patch, Stephanie with people her own age, although Drake's recent prolonged absence sorta did away with Black Patch time. And, we didn't see as much of Steve as a part of that. I think the show is not very good at writing for Hortons and for the Stayla group.

Well, I think there is a difference between not writing Stayla and Stephanie well and needing more family scenes.  They seem to spend a decent amount together?  None of them currently really have a story.  They are more supporting in other stories at the moment.   Sure, you can make an argument that Tripp and Joey should be around, but they aren't that interesting lol.

Meanwhile, John/Marlena have kids, grandkids, stepkids, etc. running around everywhere in Salem.  It's clear Ron prefers J&M to S&K, but I also think there is just more to write with them due to the way the cast is made up at this moment.

Well, I think those things feed each other. A circular thing. I like the family dynamic we get out Brady/Evans/Black. I'd like it if we got more of that kind of thing with others including more Hortons & the Stayla we have & more as well.

I doubt I'm alone in being pretty sick of Ron & his preferences.

I think the Hortons are a different issue.

Patch and Kayla vs. J&M isn't the problem.  Both should get stories and airtime.  It's only going to get worse once

Although I honestly think Steve/Kayla/Stephanie get plenty of scenes together.

    • Tbf it's not unusual for a family when they are dealing with some bad news that changes a life to use song to give out hope.Especially black families. I personally had to deal with that very thing this weekend. Partly off putting, but at the same time, I did get the point and it gave me a bit of hope in the moment.      MM is definitely acting. But Smitty is just so passive. It could turn into quiet strength at some point, but for now...passive IMO.
    • Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles.  Obviously, that might occur IRL.  But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.
    • @kalbir MSW was a powerhouse for CBS. Angela Lansbury was a superb actress. In 1985, TV viewers were tiring of the primetime soaps and the like. People wanted storytelling and MSW was great at that and had great guest stars. Storytelling -- an amazing and novel concept. CBS Daytime by 1985 was beating ABC so CBS was on the upswing.
    • I'd say just the opposite - conflict means they will find out and then be at odds. For the limited amount of time people on this show have conflict (if they aren't named Nina or Ric, I guess).
    • Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward.  Clyde's exit was 12/11/24.  It is May.  She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.
    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL And I also agree with those that thought Dana/Leslie's scenes with the Dupree's didn't feel right since Eva is not a Dupree....unless she is.  But as of right now, she's not.
    • Trisha Mann-Grant, Ambyr Michelle, Sean Freeman are destined for bigger and better things. They need to move on as soon as their initial contracts are done.
    • Daphnée Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant on Instagram live, 5/5/2025 just concluded, saved here https://www.instagram.com/p/DJSsYb7PDv8/
    • I really need to see Anita in a scene that isn't with a family member. In fact, I would have preferred that she would have gotten rid of the mob and had a one on one with Leslie to lay down the law with her.  I'm going to say it, Mike Manning has been completely lifeless on this show. Other than people's superficial fondness for him, I don't get what they see in him as an actor. I never saw him on DAYS though. The show had another really strange cut right before the opening credits where it looked like they almost cut off Nicole mid-sentence.  Kat/Eva are carrying this show on their backs. Lock them in for lifetime contracts, I beg.
    • There's a 1980 scene of Victor and Katherine in the Chancellor Estate living room where they went over a contract that would put Victor in charge of Chancellor Industries, but it was rewritten that Katherine brought Victor to Genoa City so he could run Chancellor Industries.
