-- I like Adam Huss as Nik very much. He infuses the character with a warmth and vulnerability that's been missing. I don't understand these "But he's not a prince" arguments.

-- Jonathan Jackson is a good actor, but those scenes were yawn-inducing. I feel like we've seen them dozens of times before. No flowers from me for the writers on that.

The problem (for me) is that he doesn't look like a prince. Not that he is not one.

He doesn't look like a Cassadine. He doesn't look like a Greek Russian prince. He doesn't look like someone who has met Helena Cassadine once in his life. Isn't this who this character is supposed to be?

The crazy recasting game gave us the ideal Molly.

New Lulu is good news, because I didn't care for the previous one.
I wouldn't mind another recast for Nik if the new actor fits the part.

But I get that some people can't deal with constant recasts. I am not in a position to do so, I am currently watching Ryan's Hope, so....

Add me to the people who do not get the "Not a Princers"!!! AFAICS, Adam Huss looks the part & his acting is absolutely on par plus before he ever taped his first scene he looked at tapes of Tyler & of Bechtel, for a reference point. Doing that kind of homework, on his own initiative to me makes him a keeper.

Remember that margarine commercial?

We were talking today about OG Lucky. Remember after he went cross-country by himself then he had a storyline where he was newly tech savvy. We'd see him in a room, seated at a table, with a laptop in front of him & the point was that he was going online via modem, which was a new thing & a cord snaked down from the laptop but just dangled in the air. It was never plugged into anything!!!! We got more belly laughs out of that "unplugged" tech savvy moment!!!

    • Okay I can buy that when Brook Lynn was a teen.  Now she knows the child is a boy one would think she'd be slightly suspicious.  Then again, Gio looks nothing like either of them so maybe not lol.
    • I've been behind & just got caught up & the last 3 days were amazing!
    • Yeah.  The hot, poor bad boy with a chip on his shoulder but with a heart of gold was a common soap trope in the 80s

    • That's been an issue with me... the lack of a cohesive 'Have Not' crowd that has focus other than Leslie/Eva.   I would beef up Jan, Mona, Laura, Joey, and few other male characters.. and not just be out to overthrow the Duprees.. but co-existing and broadening the scope of the show since the show is called Beyond the Gates. I think the set up the show has with everything revolving around the Duprees will become predictable especially if they always win.   It would be like Victor Newman on Y & R for 40+ years.. always winning, hardly ever losing.   With MVJ/Guza.. both trained under that mindset... I fear that will happen.   I've always heard from a performer that is playing a character like Leslie/Dana that you have to find the victim/hurt beneath the surface in order to play a villain/villainess... and I think that's why I enjoy watching her.. because she brings so much more to the part than what the writers put on the page.
    • I figure that was really hard for Dom to do. I completely GET why they wrote it the way they did but I wonder if it was necessary. Meanwhile I have 2 really icky ideas in my head. Drew is going to blame Tracy KNOWING it was not her. Dante is going to blame Lulu.  After that, everyone else is going to be mad at Lois.  Tracy is going to double down on wanting to get rid of Sonny. Sonny's going to be more dug in to stay because he now has a new descendant.
    • I can actually buy Brook Lynn being so self-absorbed and incurious that she never thought to question why her mom and grandma were so attached to Gio.
    • It was overkill and the whole narrative Lois was too nice to the orphan kid when he was little, WHAT? Like Emma said no one thinks Gio is a troublemaker that gets 14-year-old kids drunk for fun. That being said, Lulu figured this Gio thing out in episode, but Brook Lynn never once questioned Lois and Gloria's attachment to a child that was the same age as the baby she gave up?  Ever?
    • Thanks for finding that. I may have been thinking of this blog entry.
