I too am a married gay man and am planing to adopt currently, so I have some knowledge on this subject as well. I see everyone’s points about Kristina and the optics about gestational hosts, but there is one big difference that I keep coming back to: it was her own egg in this case. Has she used a donor egg and TJ’s sperm, this would be a very different set of circumstances, but they used her own egg to keep the Davis DNA, which changes it for me and makes me understand her point of view a bit. And legally, that baby is Kristina’s until after it is born and the parental rights are signed over. Each state is different, but in my state (Minnesota), you legally sign over the parental rights after 72 hours and then have 10 business days after that to change your mind and take it back.

I meant to say something the other day, but this week has been utter hell. But I agree.

JL has more definitely grown as an actress over the last year and it's been great to watch. She's even been given credit where it's due with her naysayers on this board.

But I also agree that yes, there has been time she still feels like a recurring player. Or maybe I can understand the critique on that. I am happy to see her when I see her. But at the moment, she really doesn't have anything going on that isn't C plot. Perhaps at some point her brother will appear and that will give more story. And we always have Natalia.

I haven't even thought about that!!

The Kristina/Joss rivalry really has vanished again, hasn't it? One of the many things I did like about PM was that what was started before him, PM kept going. And we got some good Kristina vs Joss scenes again even with slilted writing. But since He Who Shall Not Be Named is back, I guess I do wonder if a Kristina/Dex/Joss thing will happen. Because it did look like the writing might go there before the surrogate storyline.

So sorry about the lousy week. But glad we agree.

She's deserved it.

At the moment, I cannot stand her writing. Tell me of any red-blooded lesbian who would leave the hospital when her dearest is in ICU?!!!

Are you doing a riff on "We'll always have Paris." Because if so, I'd like a word with the management.

If GH thinks us watching this Heather story is going to move their ratings up, they are mistaken. Watching several contract players rotating in and out of this unpopular story about a recurring character makes me really scratch my head. In one episode Trina,  Laura, Liz, and Portia were supporting players to this stupidity, and none of them has a story of their own right now. How is this proper showrunning?

I might be more willing to give the show some grace, except the writing team has been in place since May when PM’s exit was announced.

As far as Kristina goes, I am truly upset at the show for basically ignoring TJ and Molly as actual characters, while centering everything around Kristina. When Mulcahey’s work started airing, right away every beat of the stories were being shown. Now we are back to a focal person or two, and everyone else is just there to support scenes of that focal character.

I cannot believe anyone looks at this canvas and thinks we have to create a storyline for a recast Heather’s murder hip to keep her, and also decided to make Ava the most bumbling excuse for a villain who appears to be so far in a corner only an exit could be coming. Even if it was time to go Maura West deserves better.

GH Wiki now has Charles Mesure and Kristen Vaganos listed as being on contract as of August 8. I guess the rumor was true.

I think that Robert Scorpio might be on his way out. We barely see him anymore. Two Australian WSB agents might be redundant.

I don't necessarily think anything that shows up on a wiki has been vetted.

And, about Tristan, I know that when they had the last day-long photo shoot, he opted not to come in. He didn't feel like driving from Palm Springs just to have photos made. I do not think this was a good sign as far as his involvement goes.

Today felt like CVE resetting the canvas back to how he had it.

Willow got her job as a nurse back and I’m glad they did that. Her scenes with Kristina were actually pretty good. I hope we get scenes of similar understanding with Kristina and Sam soon.

Looks like Blaze is headed for an exit. We all just had this discussion my feelings remain the same lol, she can go. Kristina was so cold with her. Curious how long Eva La Rue will last without a child on canvas.

I like Brennan and enjoyed his scenes with Carly and Anna. I don’t know how I feel about a potential triangle yet but everyone has good chemistry so far so there is potential.

Molly and TJ got some great scenes today talking about his need for religious rituals during grief and her wanting legal justice.. Really good acting from both actors there.

Nina and Maxie scenes were fun I like their dynamic. Nina’s motivation for keeping Drew distracted with sex feels a bit contrived but I’ll roll with it I guess because I enjoy their chemistry.

Overall enjoyable episode today but I’m still watching with caution.

I love how the show acts like he's huge or Ricky Martin is super relevant in 2024.

Kristina is a little "ME, ME, ME!" right now.  She still seems to being getting the main perspective on this loss.  It was a bit better for TJ/Molly today though.

Kirsten Storms finally seems to have figured out a good look for her.  Her hair is the right color finally and her outfit was cute.  She looks and seems so much better as Maxie these days!

Yup, the show is almost fully back to how it was before what I’ll call ‘the experiment’.

Some of it works, some of it does not, but the writing is what is most different. Some of the nuance, maturity and sophistication in the dialogue and character work is being levelled for what was before.

Like a lot of you, I’ll see how things pan out before deciding what I’ll do re: watching

    • For all I care, the boy can parade around in a g-string.  It won't make this show suck any less.
    • AMC was about a decade later so things may have changed by then, although maybe they never approached her anyway. She joined Santa Barbara in 1985, when they didn't seem interested in bringing back Hope. SB ended in late 1992, so JFP could have asked her back, but I doubt she did. For as much as JFP clearly had some use for Rick Hearst given that she hired him on GH and kept him around as often as she could, I don't think she ever used Alan-Michael well. I can't see Elvera as Delia, but she could have worked well as Faith - she had a glimpse of a strong personality alongside warmth, which only one Faith ever managed (Catherine Hicks).
    • IIRC, FC reruns aired for awhile on Lifetime, way before the network became the Women in Peril Channel, lol.
    • PAM!! YES!!! You have jogged my memory. She worked at Cedars. She's mentioned in a write-up of Tim's history in the show. It says she was a nurse, but I seem to remember she was a secretary at Cedars, working for either Ed or Sarah. (It's almost 50 years ago, so I definitely could be wrong). I'm certain she was an unwed mother. I recall reading an interview with the actress, Maureen Silliman (I looked it up, that's her correct name, LOL). She started on the show just before the Dobsons started writing it. She was shocked to get a script that said her character had been pregnant since she hit town. I remember a scene where she told Tim she was going to leave SF for a better job for her daughter's sake (really, I think she was upset he was serious about Rita). I don't remember them getting married and leaving town, but according to "Who's Who in Springfield" that's how the characters were written out. Mattson did All My Children for several years, so she might have been persuadable. Here's an interesting factoid I recently learned on these message boards: Elvera Roussel was in the running to play Delia on RH when the show first hit the air. How wild is it that Mattson played Delia for a while? (Though from what I saw of her performance, she was miscast). It's hard to know if Roussel would have been a good Delia. You'd think she would have been better suited to playing Faith Coleridge, but who knows? She didn't get to show a whole lot of range as Hope.
    • If I were to do an EON reboot, I think I would start at the beginning, with Mike Karr leaving the police force in order to begin a new career as an attorney, and dealing with his wife, Sara's, crooked family.
    • I don't know if it was the writing or performance but I felt like we finally got to see the real Ted. Especially the way he talked to Martin when confronted, felt like a completely different person. He felt darker and like a total liar who was mad he got caught. I expected him to be remorseful and want to apologize to each and every family member who he came into contact with but he seemed like he didn't care. It completely changed how I view him and it makes me wonder if this is the direction they're going to take Ted in with the recast.
    • Tessa clarified a few years ago that she is gay and not bi.   I find it offensive that the show is teasing her with Daniel. Mariah told Sharon she went emotionally/mentally to a dark place, and while she was out of town on business she got drunk and did something bad.  But Mariah didn't say she cheated.  The show wants us to assume that, but she didn't say that.  She could have taken drugs or who knows what.  All we know is that she feels shame and doesn't want Tessa to know.  Mariah says the inner darkness is due to the longterm influence of Ian in the past, and she hasn't healed from that. With a *good* writer, we could have organic conflict in the Teriah marriage, without cheating.  But JG isn't a good writer.
    • Was that before his accident? I think it was. Most of us have never seen him before it happened.
