Despite everything, I still think he has the potential to write good soap opera. 

He just needs to stop letting his biases and his obsessions do the writing for him.

To be fair, it wasn't Ron's idea to do Possession 2.0.  But yeah, the writing could've been better.  However, I would take Ron at Y&R.  I think at Y&R he wouldn't be able to do his campiness, his silliness, his inside jokes.  A toned down Carlivati could be good. His first number of months at OLTL, before the 2007 strike, was excellent, as was his first couple of years at GH.

The only year at General Hospital I liked of his was 2013 when he was forced to write out his One Life pets.
