But, really there are a lot who are on recurring.

Me, I like Kraze, so Blaze and Natalia are not a problem to me.

And, I like the Davis women. If I had to let one go, it would be Sam for me, too. Seems odd but they don't really write PI stuff for Sam usually & KeMo phoned it in too much for a good long while.

As far as the GH Kids On The Block go, I could lose Vile-ette, Charlotte who is not currently around anyway, Georgie, and if push comes to shove both Avery & Donna.

Gossing & Easton were bumped down off contract in the past 4 months.

Since I believe we are in dire need of losing some more people. I hope Easton is going. Marshall could go, too. And, I could say goodbye to Sasha, Cody, Curtis, Stella, Valentin, Comet & any other livestock, Robert could go if need be, who am I missing? Oh, now, possibly unpopular & vets to boot but Lucy & Scott.

I'm okay with recurring players getting family; canvas need to expand, but General Hospital is not one of them, and I had hopes Patrick Mulcahey could have scaled things back and re-built from a foundation-point. But, that won't be happening at this point, and it's unfortunate.

Child actors (under 18) don't bother me, and I like seeing them on the canvas... I just need some more than others. The ones driving story are not necessarily ones that should be. At this point, I'm awaiting a SORAS'd Avery to show up sometime this summer. Ava & Grace Scarola have been M.I.A. since January of this year, and it is spelling out recast in-coming for a summer storyline.

Oh, this I agree with. It was the "Writer's" way of giving Nancy Lee Grahn a love interest and a connecting tie to the canvas. But it never made sense to me, either.

Considering the years we had no kids, I don't mind it as much. I'm all for it, honestly. I'd imagine by 2025 (if we're still airing), the current younger set will be upped to teen status.

Yes, they took him off contract early last month. The thing is we do not know if he will remain on recurring or if when his contract cycle date comes up, or story makes happen, if he will be gone. Most people tend to be thinking gone, obviously, lately because of story.

And, since Marshall was moved to recurring we have seen VERY little of him.

If Easton is still shown among the contract players, then, that is because of his cycle date & basically is a technicality. And, it was just noted that he is not in any of the new 7 group shots.

Mhmm.

It's just been rumoured... long rumoured that he's exiting the soap. But nothing of evidence as of yet.

Alexis possibly... but Julian Jerome, especially under William deVry? No. Never. That was a stretch and a daydream of the "Writer" for sure.

Well, I hope it's true Easton is out.  We will see.

WDV looked way too young to be Sam's dad and I am sure he is in real life.  I know that has never stopped the show before, but it was a weird turn of events.  And it really means nothing now because Julian is dead and Lucas is off screen.

As far as kids, I guess it's lucky we haven't had a GH baby this year.  Lois talking about babies and grandchildren made me nervous though.  Also, did Lois forget Brook Lynn/Maxie's entire baby scheme a few years back?  Didn't Lois think Brook was pregnant too and had time to prepare for the thought of grandkids?  Basically it's the whole reason Chase/BLQ got together lol.

I'm hopeful Easton is out, too. He's part of my list, honestly, and would open up the door for another doctor to come into General Hospital.

William deVry is 56, Nancy Lee Grahn is 68 and Kelly Monaco is newly 48. So it is plausible Alexis is Sam's mother... but deVry as her father? No. The former Julian, Jason Culp, is 63, so that's a bit more... realistic, but still a bit... off, even if we consider retcons et al.

And, if I recall, Lois was part of the pregnancy scheme. Brook Lynn left Port Charles (when Briana Lane was exiting to allow Amanda Setton to return) to visit Lois, and then came back pregnant.

) Anyways... I did really feel disgusted by Eurovision this year and I doubt I'll watch this horrific musical torture in the future. My ears and my psyche will not survive.
    • Regarding the mobster storyline: The scripts, the cardroom set, and the writing for Joey -- are all terrible. They seem to be writing a realistic depiction of compulsive gambling as an addiction, showing that it pops into his head all the time -- it has become hardwired into his brain.  The APA (American Psychological Association) describes compulsive gambling as having a similar effect on the physical brain as drug and alcohol addiction. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/07/how-gambling-affects-the-brain I think Jason Graham (Doug) is doing an adequate job playing Doug as a compulsive gambler, with the thoughts/urges coming into his head all the time, and being unable to stop. However, the cardroom set is awful and the mobster storyline is a bad cliché, so it's all so uninteresting to watch. I think Mr. Graham is doing the best he can with the crap they gave him to work with. If anyone reading or watching has a gambling issue, check out Gamblers Anonymous.  They have many types of meetings -- in-person, online, video, audio, etc.  They also have resources for friends/family of compulsive gamblers.
    • Today was painful (especially for Philip).  I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them. I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander
    • Lucy Coe wasn't even this big of a whore.
    • Kate being the one that Alex called was a nice surprise. The cut to her looking all sheek made me instantly get excited for her to get back into business mode. And the Jack reference from when she first came to town (on-screen) was inserted naturally which is always welcome. When they were talking about how much sex sells, I almost got the impression they were sizing each other up in a May/December type of way.  All the Philip stuff was gruesome. I'm happy the show isn't shying away from Xander's ugliness. I love them both, and it just makes me intrigued for the aftermath for it all to be taken seriously. I cheered when Philip spat out at that Sarah knew the truth. I'm on tenterhooks for their eventual confrontation. I was surprised that Kate wasn't a little vicious towards Sarah for Xander's obvious behavior, but maybe that's still to come. How wonderfully entangled is it that both Philip and Shawn/Steve stopped each other from getting the drug. Both equally at fault. Who/what will ultimately save Bo? And with everything going on, is a Salem where it's looking likely that EJ is about to own the hospital imminent?
    • Oddly.. Chase and Steve seem to have both vanished from the canvas in December so the Estelle return loses impact when two of her kids stop appearing shortly after her return (and I assume TR leaves in early 1986 as well). The Steve recast doesn't work... but it's odd that he has a long scene with Teri with Cagney looking jealous.. when the majority of his time on the show previously was a relationship and engagement to Stephanie (who he barely has a scene with in the episodes I see). Your idea for Wendy/Bela/Stephanie sounds just like what Ryan's Hope did with Michael/Kim/Rae... and considering Louise Shaffer was playing Rae and Stephanie.. it would have been a lousy redux of a superior story on another soap (that had months of build-up) I think Quinn becoming assistant to Stephanie was Mayer/Braxton... but not 100 % sure. I don't know if Mayer/Braxton was setting up Sarah as a bad girl disguised as a good girl.. but the actress (Joyner) was playing the scenes in that manner.. and Tomlin wisely tapped into that when he took over.
    • She’s such a caricature - which is a shame because I think the actress is capable of so much more.   I don’t know why Cady often feels like she has overcompensated in her performances. She already proved she can play much more than just Dixie Cooley during her first stint at ATWT (her best acting era). Her performances in various roles since then have been quite strange at times.
    • It feels like the show suddenly woke up today and remembered it was Sweeps month. Lots of action and forward momentum, including a delicious Nina/Carly fight.
