To make Wally Kurth's life miserable?

But seriously.  I don't think there's much you could do with a record producer in Port Charles, ties to the canvas or no ties; and I can't see Lois all-of-a-sudden working in some capacity at ELQ or at the hospital either.  The fact is, Lois belongs with Ned, but we know that's not gonna happen, so what's the point?

I still think it's a shame how GH landed Gregory Harrison and then proceeded to waste him on a nothing character.

I always questioned bringing Lois back if you couldn't put her with Ned, but the fact is it's done, she's here and Rena is still very good when given half a scrap of vaguely passable material. So if she's happy being here and wants to continue the least they can do is write good story for her and find a new role for her on canvas that makes Lois have a real purpose and direction. It would be a huge waste to let her go when there are at least 10-15 characters far more ready for dropping.

Gregory Harrison was very hot in the '80s, but I just find Benjamin Franklin Gregory boring to watch for extended periods. Yes, he's an austere fellow and has a bit of chemistry with Tracy but his storyline and family just hold no lasting interest for me.

I know she's predominately a music producer but what about tapping into her cooking side? Opens and / or works at a restaurant of some kind? I know it isn't... the most thrilling, but it'd be a nice change of pace for Lois. Maybe even working with Curtis at The Savoy to produce musical talent for performances, booking events, et al.

That just feels like forcing Lois into the already staid framework of the current show to me. I'd rather build new things out including a place for her - entertainment businesses on soaps can be tricky to depict but we don't need to see her making music or whatever to make something work. It's not like I'd be brokenhearted if Aurora, etc. went away to make room.

Oh yes, I saw her in the 80s. FORTY years ago. She looks a lot better with shorter hair, imo.

These long, wavy strands of hair hanging heavily all around her front look very silly on a person of her stature. I feel the same way about Genie/Laura's long hippie hair, but they keep Laura's flatly brushed and mostly pulled behind her head so it usually doesn't look so age-inappropriate.

Do you believe in those rules that say that after a certain age you can't have long hair, can't wear certain things, etc.? Personally I think they are bunk. But, I wear my hair short these days & the last time I had it long, down my back I was, I think, 44 or 45. So maybe I don't really think they're bunk. Who knows. And also who cares. One thing I do know is that they will not get my fun t-shirts & my jeans away from me till they pry them out of my cold dead fingers. NO WAY!

It's clear to me that GH just jumped to get Rena with no plan.  Rena/Wally are adamant on Ned/Lois not reuniting and that's pretty much the story Lois/Ned fans have been waiting for all this time.  So this means you have to a solid idea for Lois outside what was her main story previously.  I don't have a problem with her moving on from Ned, but I don't know who on the current canvas I would pair her with.  I think there is some way to incorporate her career and move Brook Lynn out of Deception and the two of them could build something in PC together with that with Blaze maybe?  Hopefully, the new writers will figure it out.  I honestly love Rena/Lois, but I am not sure she actually fits on the current show.

I'm sure you're right that they had no plan to begin with.

It seems to me that there are two wild cards - Lois & Tracy. But, with Tracy they know tons of things they can involve her in. I think moving her into the end (one hopes) of the SEC story was their first attempt at using her in regular story - and I think it worked. Even had some legs to it since she & Olivia had to come to terms.

So, now, it's just a question of what else they can throw Lois towards. At least that's what I think. It might be a pairing but it might not. I don't think it has to be.

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
