Mischa Barton is officially on Ramsay Street!

On Sunday, May 14, the Australian soap “Neighbours” unveiled the first photo of the actress on the set while holding up the iconic street sign and standing beside actors Alan Fletcher and Jackie Woodburne who play Karl Kennedy and Susan Kennedy, respectively, on the series.

In a caption for the photo, we learn for the first time that Barton’s character’s full name is Reece Sinclair. Previously, we only knew the character’s first name. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to have her moving in for a little while…,” the caption noted, referring to Barton as a guest star when the show returns to TV.

Another photo of Barton was shared on Fletcher’s Instagram, this time without the street sign. In his caption, he said, “We have been blessed @neighbours to have the talented @mischabarton join the cast for the new episodes. Can’t wait for you to see them later this year!” He also included the hashtag “jackiewoodburne” as the actress is not on social media.

In April, it was announced that Barton would join the series as Reece, an American new to Erinsborough who’s not quite who she appears to be.

“I’m excited to be part of this iconic show’s next chapter, and I am really looking forward to being back in Australia — a place I know and love! I think the character of Reece is going to be a great role for me to explore and play with,” shared Barton in a statement.

So, I know viewers were scarred by her 'acting' on The OC, but I think MB is actually a better actress than that now. She was struggling with alcohol and other addictions back in the day, as a child actress whose mother was her manager and who basically supported her family.  I appreciate that she hustles to get work on projects, even after her professional rep was trashed following The OC.
