ARTICLE: DAYTIME EMMYS: First-Time Nominations for ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Actors Krista Allen, Henry Joseph Samiri and Cassandra Creech

“The Bold and the Beautiful” received 14 nominations for “The 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards,” six more than last year’s total, it was announced today by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).

Recognized in the Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, Outstanding Daytime Drama Series Writing and Outstanding Daytime Drama Series Directing Team categories, along with five acting nominations and six technical achievement nominations, the soap opera received the second highest amount behind only ABC’s “General Hospital.”

Marking its 17th nomination overall in the Outstanding Daytime Drama Series category, with three previous wins in 2009, 2010 and 2011, “The Bold and the Beautiful” is represented by  Executive Producer Bradley P. Bell, Supervising Producers Edward Scott and Casey Kasprzyk, and Producer Cynthia J. Popp.

In addition to his executive producing duties, Bell is also the head writer of “The Bold and the Beautiful.” This year, the show received its 18th nomination for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series Writing Team, winning the award in 2010, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2020. The writing team is represented by Bell and Co-Head Writer Michael Minnis and Writers Rex M. Best, Shannon B. Bradley, Adam Dusevoir, Tracey Ann Kelly, Mark Pinciotti, Lawrence Saint-Victor and Michele Val Jean.

The Outstanding Daytime Drama Series Directing Team nomination, the show’s 17th overall in the category with three previous wins (2011, 2013 and 2015), is represented by Directors Cynthia J. Popp, Anthony Pascarelli and Jennifer Howard, Assistant Directors Cathy Sedwick, Jennifer Scott Christenson, Brian Connell, Mark Beruti and Erica Ginger Britton, Production Associates Robin Harvey Adams and Cherie Wall and Stage Managers Lisa Winther-Houston, Herbert Weaver, and Jason Galland.

With a career spanning four daytime dramas, including his previous work on “All My Children,” “One Life to Live” and “Port Charles,” Thorsten Kaye received his seventh nomination in the category of Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actor. Marking his third overall nomination for his role as Ridge Forrester on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” Kaye remains the only performer to be nominated in the “Lead Actor” category on three different daytime dramas.

Receiving her sixth Daytime Emmy Award nomination overall, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is nominated for the third time in the Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress for her role as Steffy Forrester on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” She was previously nominated and won in the same category in 2019 and 2021. Earlier in her career, Wood also received nominations in the “Younger Actress” category in 2012 and 2013 and the “Supporting Actress” category in 2018.

Krista Allen, Henry Joseph Samiri and Cassandra Creech are first-time nominees this year. Allen is nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress category for her role as Dr. Taylor Hayes. Samiri is nominated in the Outstanding Younger Performer in a Daytime Drama Series category for his role as Douglas Forrester. Creech is nominated for Outstanding Guest Performance in a Daytime Drama Series for her role as Dr. Grace Buckingham.

Nominated in the Outstanding Costume Design/Styling category, the show is represented by Costume Designer Jeresa Featherstone and Costume Stylists Anabel Shuckhart, Renee Vance Brunson, Gail Mosley, Jennifer Johns, Tayo Fajemisin, Shirin Enayati, Patrice Johnson, Lucy Flores, Ross Fuentes and Angelo Santos. This is the show’s 23rd nomination in this category (including combinations), with 11 previous wins in 1991, 1992, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2020.

Representing the Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup team with its nomination are Head Hairstylist Stephanie Paugh and Hairstylists Karlye Buff, Alexis Reyes and Danielle Dubinsky, Head Makeup Artist Christine Lai Johnson, Makeup Artists Hajja Barnes and James Elle, and Special Effects Makeup Artist Dan Crawley. Including combinations, this is the show’s 17th nomination for Hairstyling with seven previous wins in 1996, 1998, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2014; and its 20th nomination for Makeup with five previous wins in 1993, 2011, 2014, 2017 and 2018.

Outstanding Music Direction and Composition includes nominations for Composers John Nordstrom and Bradley P. Bell and Music Supervisor Lothar Struff. This is the show’s 11th nomination in this category with five previous wins in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2018. This is Nordstrom’s fourth overall nomination for his work on “The Bold and the Beautiful” having previously won the award in 2015 and 2018.

The Outstanding Original Song nomination for the song “Everybody Dances” was spearheaded by Composers and Lyricists Casey Kasprzyk and Anthony Ferrari and Composers Bradley P. Bell and Matthew Pavolaitis. This is the show’s 12th nomination in this category with three previous wins in 2015, 2016, and 2019.

Taking place at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, “The 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” is set to air LIVE on Friday, June 16 at 9:00 p.m. ET/delayed PT. The telecast will also be available to stream live and On Demand on Paramount+*. Additional winners will be announced during “The Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmys,” which will occur the following night, Saturday, June 17, at 9:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. CT, airing exclusively online via Watch.TheEmmys.TV and related apps.
