But Julie's entire characterization has been off for years. Julie isn't a screeching, grumpy, slightly racist old shrew and that's how she's portrayed. It's not just out of character writing-the core of Julie's personality has completely changed. I venture that if she was leaned over anymore forward she would fall on her face! But, good question as to whether they like the way the show uses them now.
