I'm sure others might say you're never too old to be crushed by this kind of bombshell, but I happen to agree with you.  WHAT sort of impact should this really have on a man his age?  Jack Abbott is one maladjusted s.o.b. to let THIS upend his life so drastically.

About the same impact as it had months ago when they did the same thing to Ashley-very little, at least to the viewer.

It really says a lot about the writing (and acting) for Jack nowadays. Terry Lester effortlessly played so many different, contradictory layers to Jack. Nowadays Jack is reduced to arrogant windbag.
