A lot of movement in Actor and Character rankings in December 2015!

1) On December 3, 2015 the character of Hope Williams Brady appeared in her 4000th episode making Hope only the 3rd character to appear in 4000+ episodes (the other two are Marlena and Bo)

2) John Aniston (with 2465 episodes) surpasses James Reynolds (with 2460 episodes) to become the 13rh most appearing actor in Days history. This knocks James down to 14rh most appearing actor.

3) Stephen Nichols (with 1154 episodes) surpasses Eileen Davidson (1153), Austin Peck (1151), Nadia Bjorlin (1148), AND Charles Schaughnessy (1147) to become the 33rd most appearing actor in the show's history. This knocks Eileen, Austin, Nadia, and Charles to 34th, 35th, 36th, and 37th respectively.

4) The character of Nicole Walker (with 2114 episodes) surpasses Mike Horton (with 2119 episodes) to become the 17 th most appearing character. This knocks Mike down to 18 th.

5) Stefano DiMera (with 1872 episodes) surpasses Jack Deveraux (with 1870 episodes) to become the 21 at most appearing character.

6) Belle Black (with 1593 episodes) and Kayla Brady (with 1583 episodes) surpass EJ DiMera (with 1579 episodes) to become the 31st and 32nd most appearing characters in the show's history.

7) Abigail Deveraux (with 1163 episodes) and Steve Johnson (with 1154 episodes) surpass Chloe Lane (1148), Shane Donovan ( 1146), and Kristen DiMera (1144) to become the 40 th and 41st most appearing characters in the show's history!

Here's to a great start and continued success to our show in 2016!

    • Overall I was impressed with this week and fall out from the revealation.  I am looking forward to seeing the Nicole/Dana showdown next week.  I do wonder if June is going to be tied to Hayley.
    • I thought Adam and Sara got married? Although I do not remember any mention of her when Adam returned for Blake's weddings. But MA certainly got the short end of the stick storywise, as Marland's obsession with therapy reared it's head.
    • Didn’t Meg Bennett return to SFT as a writer in the last few years. I always wondered if they tried to get her back as Liza.
    • Millette Alexander got the short end of the stick once they killed off Joe. The Justin thing was a non-starter. Then she was briefly married to Alan's corrupt lawyer and HE was killed off. She was paired briefly with Adam and that ended because she believed Holly over Roger about the rape. Definitely, Marland had zero interest in her except as the therapist for the many, many of his female characters who needed therapy. It's not odd she left the show. One of the rare 1978 episodes on YT shows Alan going to Cedars for a physical check-up. He ends up with Sarah as his doctor. In between making mysoginistic comments about women doctors, he also openly flirts with her. It's very obvious they were chem testing Sarah and Alan. It's a really good scene. Bernau is both obnoxious and charming and Millette is amazing, trying to be pleasant and profesional without rolling her eyes at him, but at the same time maybe a LITTLE bit attracted to him. An interesting what-might-have-been. So it appears the Dobsons were actively looking for someone to pair her with, they just never found the right one for a long-term story.
    • I'm happy to read whatever you provide, @Paul Raven.

    • First, let me say I love reading all of your takes and thoughts. They always provide a different point of view... a breath of fresh air... in this sometimes stuffy topic.

You've inspired me to add my 2 cents about this product placement debacle.  I absolutely HATE the way they are doing product placement in BTG. I really hope this doesn't catch on or evolve into more and more of these moments. It's incredibly off-putting to place them in a highly dramatic moment where we are still on the emotional journey with the character. What is next - Dani spraying the house while having a nervous breakdown? It makes me not want to buy the product they're selling. LOL. That's just me.
    • I always get the vibe that Martin/Smitty have an emotional abusive relationship set up... but I doubt the show will really go there with that element given that Martin is a Dupree (and we can't have the Duprees be portrayed in a negative light), and because it's a gay male relationship.   Even though abuse in the physical or emotional sense is a huge thing in a lot of gay and lesbian relationships. The Ashley/Naomi scene reads off to me for one reason....  Ashley was talking about the new scandal without any sort of mention and/or subtext.. considering she knew both Silk Press Sheila and Eva.  I'm not sure if the writers have forgotten, if Jen Jacobs isn't able to play subtext, or what.   It's just apparent the writers do not know how to write a young white millennial couple.. and perhaps they need to get a younger white script writer to be on staff... or let the actors play around with the lines to make them more natural/realistic.
    • This is as good a time as any to point out that the 90 minute show was, what I like to call  "cockamamie idea" of Fred Silverman, head of NBC Daytime Programming. He did so well at ABC & CBS but not so NBC. We learned this from a WOST interview with Pete Lemay, 2006, can be found on YouTube, audio only. Now, to be clear, Rauch was completely behind it. Only Lemay fought against it & eventually quit over it.
