He passed away yesterday at the age of 72. The Manhattan transfer is one of the few groups whose lineup remained virtually unchanged for the last 40 years (With the exception of Laurel Masse' who left in 1978). Tim is here in this clip, giving the intro to the final song on the final episode of their CBS TV series in 1975.

    Sad news. Some of the best harmonies ever. And they had one of my favorite Christmas songs.

    I can't say I've ever listened to them very much, but this song was played quite frequently on the radio when I was a child in the late seventies, and somehow it's become embedded in my mind.
