Members EricMontreal22
http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/coronation-street-canada-itv-deny-3097089 Didn't they already try this? I can't even remember the name of the show, though they had a very Corrie based set and it lasted half a year or so, and it was done with one of the Corrie producers... Members DRW50
Shouldn't they be doing more to try to help Corrie, which is rotting away?
Members EricMontreal22
That's not how things like this work, silly! We just had Hayley's euthanasia two days back, so I'm still a bit behind but the show really is a shell of itself. I don't really object to any stories, except for the fact that so many seem lazy (ie Todd's, and the whole Peter mess.)
Members EricMontreal22
Wow, it was called Riverdale. This is the ONLY clip I was able to find, but apparently it actually ran for over 90 episodes. Members BingCherry
I'm surprised that there has never been a particularly successful attempt at a daytime soap in Canada, especially when Another World and Coronation Street had such large followings. Members EricMontreal22
While it was advertised from the people of Corrie, Wiki's list of credits are almost all Degrassi people. I remember that the worst part was an attempt to mix older, comic characters with the melodramatic young storylines. I think one reason the Canadian soaps have failed (Family Passions anyone? Which had a number of GH actors) is due simply to the fact that American soaps have been available here for so long, even before the time Canada got many American networks we would get them the same day (according to my grandma, even radio soaps.) it's the same reason why Canada has trouble breaking out with any tv and film stuff (outside French Quebec.) Members SFK
I'm pretty sure I've asked you about Riverdale in the past. I was really interested in seeing it at the height of my obsession with the Degrassi universe. I believe Pat M. bka Joey Jeremiah was in the cast. Members EricMontreal22
He was though I think briefly because he was on their (far more Degrassi-ish) Liberty Street? I may have my time lines mixed.
