DOOL: Who's turn is it to be leading lady?

She is and she isn't. Her change is motivated from her love of Eric to be a better person. That's not 100% internal change, and can easily fall apart because girl has more baggage than JFK airport. Being a heroine goes against the grain of her natural character (much like Sami when Hogan Sheffer and Dena Higley ruined her). Jennifer and Marlena are natural heroines, not forced heroines like Sami and Nicole.

I don't know how much longer AZ can convincingly play a troubled bitch anymore though. I'm not even sure Nicole was ever cut out to be a lead character.

She isn't lead at all. When AS took maternity leave in 2009 and there were only like 12 cast member's left, AZ took the show to #2 for a week with the baby-switch. She carried the show that year, and that is because of AZ not because of Nicole - people seem to think that makes Nicole lead

Being a 'lead' doesn't equal heroine, IMO. Sami's far from it (even though they tried, and I hate how stupid they appear to be writing her at the moment).

I did type in my first response

Some TPTB seem to think leading lady = heroine and that would destroy Nicole.

What I meant was that Corday/NBC will want their leading lady to be a heroine and whoever is chosen for that role will be shoehorned into that box regardless of how they are written now, thus ruining non-natural heroines. This happened with Sami already.

I'd say bring Chloe back, she has more "it" than Nicole.

No. Just no. Nadia is gorgeous, but the blank stare quota is already filled by Rafe.

Ciara Brady.

Her.

I'll watch her doodle in a coloring book as long as she's giving a little side eye to her mama while doing it.

The last time I watched, it was Deidre Hall and Gloria Loring (and they were excellent!).

Gives you an idea how long I have tuned out.
