HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

LOL yes, we all remember that campaign unfortunately. Horrendous! I wonder if I can find some ads of it still on YouTube.

Yeah I bet you're right about Lucci. That makes sense.

Do you think AMC's contract cast will be smaller than OLTL's just due to actor availability? I feel like AMC will have the larger recurring cast.

I wonder if Jamie Luner was contacted. I'm still waiting for them to change their minds and contact Walt Willey and Stephanie Gatschet but frankly, Bobbie Eakes can remain un-contacted.

I just find it weird how few people they seem to have contacted from the final cast compared to OLTL.

Found it LOL

I blame Frons. He opened up the AMC cast to too many opportunities by moving their asses to LA. OLTL people predominantly stayed in NY except the youngin's or the one's who have settled with families, etc.

Edit: That video was an abomination. The fact that it cleared standards and practices and what's her face (don't have time to research) should have sued for defamation or something. At least got a dollar and a train token...something!

Yep, good point. Without being too creepy, do you know who from the final AMC cast lives in CT or NY or on the East Coast somewhere? Ones we haven't heard that have signed, that is.

It's hard to give you a precise list as a number of them are bi-coastal. Lucci for instance can afford her own jet.

Fair enough. Do you know where Cosgrove and Hall are?

I don't know. I feel like they'd recast Kendall if push came to shove, which I don't want them to do (I like AM in the role) BUT I can't lie, I'd probably accept a new Kendall like I accepted the last new Kendall. Without Adam and Erica full-time, JR and Kendall become a bit more important to the canvas to represent those families and I feel like they probably feel that way too. Scott and Bianca, too - to a lesser degree.

I just find it weird how few people they seem to have contacted from the final cast compared to OLTL.

Jordi V. said he signed a 1-year contract. So the contracts this time around may be 1-year long but they seemingly want the actors when they want the actors and this seems to be a problem for a lot of them since they signed on for other projects.

Budig lives in CT. I heard somebody say she tweeted about scheduling conflicts.

CM is always all over the place working. SL, too.

AM moved back to New York.

When Errol mentions opportunities, I think he means more in a mental way versus logistics. Correct me if I'm wrong. You have actors that are now more open to going to L.A., more intrigued with trying other things, etc. OLTL, meanwhile, was kept in NY and most of those actors have the East coast in their blood hardcore.

I don't see Rebecca Budig as a pet of Frons. She, and Greenlee, were front and center well before Frons took over ABC Daytime. The show was awesome with Leo, David, Maggie, Trey, Kendall, Greenlee, and Anna all as this huge extended family. Prior to that the Jake/Greenlee/Leo triangle was also compelling.

She and David were also quite interesting for the few months they were together toward the last year of AMC, before the show shifted direction.

There are still many stories to tell about a complex (anti-)heroine of her age, with her history -- Kendall was getting too tragedy queen by the end of the show's run, but Greenlee retained her spunk throughout. I really hope Budig will be on eventually as Greenlee once more.

I loved JL's Liza with both Tad and David. More so with Tad. I'd take Jamie and Bobbie over Cady. I'm so over never-dead Dixie. I'd love a Tad/David/Liza/Krystal (throw in Jack) quad.

She was a pet, big-time. It's well known within the industry. He adored her and Cameron first and foremost. He felt they were the two biggest stars of AMC and that's in part why every writer was forced to do Rylee. He wanted "his stars" to shine together. You always hurt the ones you love the most is that saying.

JP, I (Angela) accidentally edited your post instead of replying. I thought I was replying. I have too much power, lol. Please repost when you get a chance.

Incase he went to sleep, summation:

Ryan re-usable? No. Generic.

Greenlee over Kendall.

HAHA im gonna keep it as this. Its simple and to the point and very accurate.

Now to post my reply in the correct posting.

I agree with you on Ryan but not Greenlee. Greenlee was very one-dimensional at least with RB in the role. They could say Mary messed with test results and never mention Greenlee again. Actually they could do that with Ryan, too, if you think about it.

The worst part about losing Greenlee for good would be losing Mary for good.

I'm reading this side for the JR recast as closely as I can and I'm pretty sure he's interacting with Brooke. He's at someone else's house, moves into the living room 'without hesitation.' He sees a wedding photo of his father and step-mother and moves to the bar as 'Faith' enters. Who else would have Adam and Brooke's wedding photo at their house that Adam and JR have a history with? The 'joined at the hip' comment threw me a bit since they're married but perhaps it's just poorly written. Faith also refers to him as 'your father,' not 'our father,' so it's not Colby, Hayley or Skye. I think the only other option is Liza but most of the details wouldn't make sense if it were her.

"He gave power of attorney to you and not to his own son. A classic Vanderbilt move if there ever was one."

Anyone know the Vanderbilt reference? We might be able to solve this riddle.

Greenlee was amazing, and EB was why. Of course when she became a worshiper at the alter of Saint Ryan it totally ruined her. They had her back for a hot minute with her amazing wedding to David but then threw it out again. She should be a bitch, a super bitch.

Kendell, with AM, always felt so "poor me, pity me, im amazing, why dont you all love me" to me. I could never get into her.

I would be thrilled to see SG return as madison. She was great!

SMG's Kendall was pretty much the same way (I don't think either had that "I'm amazing" complex but I think there was an "I'm amazing" complex within the couple writing) - just more evul. The only time I didn't enjoy Kendall was within the supercouple-heroine complex of 2007 or 2008 onwards.

For most of RB's stay, I thought Greenlee was one-dimensional - a bitch for the sake of being a bitch. I rarely liked her. I rarely like characters like that. I like my bitches to be vulnerable. I'll say it again, twas Greenlee who damaged Ryan. Of course it came around in that the pairing was all-around damaging egotisitical suckage.

If SG was to be asked back, I'd do a Frankie/Madison/Scott triangle.

alexisfan, could be. Faith keeps on saying "Your father" which ruled out Hayley, Colby and potentially (but not completely) Skye for me. The thing is why would JR be so pissed about Brooke getting the power? JR is pissy like that, I guess. I'm a little sick of drunk JR stories. He's such a hopeless character in terms of always failing and always chasing for Adam's approval. I'd hope they would eventually come up with something new for him in terms of story.

It's totally Brooke. WOO! Here's info I got from two different sites about the Vanderbilt reference:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornelius_Vanderbilt#Death_and_legacy

He willed amounts ranging from $250,000 (approximate $4,950,000 in 2008 USD) to $500,000 ($9,920,000 in 2008 USD) to each of his eight daughters. His wife received US$500,000, their New York City home, and 2,000 shares of common stock in New York Central Railroad. To his younger surviving son, Cornelius Jeremiah Vanderbilt, whom he regarded as a wastrel, he left the income from a $200,000 trust fund. The Commodore had lived in relative modesty considering his nearly unlimited means, splurging only on race horses, leaving his descendants to build the Vanderbilt houses that characterize America's Gilded Age. (It is worth noting that though trivial in comparison to the $90 million+ inherited by William Henry Vanderbilt and his sons, the bequests to his other children made them very wealthy by the standards of 1877 and were not subject to inheritance tax.)

http://www.thelatinlibrary.com/chron/civilwarnotes/vanderbilt.html

Ruthless in business, some say Cornelius Vanderbilt made few friends in his lifetime but many enemies. His public perception was that of a vulgar, mean-spirited individual who made life miserable for everyone around him, including his family. In his will, he disowned his sons except for William who was as ruthless in business as his father and the one Cornelius believed capable of maintaining the business empire. At the time of his death, Cornelius Vanderbilt's fortune was estimated at more than $100,000,000. He willed $95,000,000 to son William but only $500,000 to each his eight daughters. His wife received a $500,000 in cash, their modest New York City home, and 2,000 shares of common stock in New York Central Railroad.

Cornelius Vanderbilt was buried in the family vault in the Moravian Cemetery at New Dorp on Staten Island. Three of his daughters and son Cornelius Jeremiah Vanderbilt contested the will on the grounds that their father had insane delusions and was of unsound mind. The unsuccessful court battle lasted more than a year and Cornelius Jeremiah committed suicide in 1882.
