January 12, 201313 yr Member Only 3 Oscar nominations for "The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey" (production design, makeup/hairstyling, visual effects) I think it deserved more, like music, cinematography and maybe even a nod for best picture.

January 28, 201313 yr Member The more I see of her, the more I like and develop a strange crush on Jennifer Lawrence. Edited January 28, 201313 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
January 28, 201313 yr Member All of the awards to JLaw! Seriously, SLP was great and she was seriously flaw free in it. I was shocked by how amazing she was. I didn't see her acting at all, she brought Tiffany Maxwell to life and made me cry, laugh & root for her & hate her at times. And she gives the best acceptance speeches
January 28, 201313 yr Member I'm so happy for Ben Affleck. Totally rotting for Argo do win Best Picture at the Oscars, too. And even though she broke up with Nicholas Hoult, which I cannot fathom, I hope Lawrence beats Chastain at the Oscars. I have nothing against Chastain, though.
January 28, 201313 yr Member Yeah, she really deserves her "it girl" status at the moment. It has been a while since a commercial younger actress has come along with such natural/raw talent. Seems like she has a great sense of humour about herself too. I didn't concentrate on my intense hatred of all things Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook, Lawrence was enough to distract me, so kudos to her for that.
February 3, 201313 yr Author Administrator Affleck won the DGA!! The Academy failed Affleck once, they better not fail him again. Hopefully the Oscar voters will give Affleck Best Picture and give either Spielberg/Lee/O'Russell Best Director.
February 11, 201313 yr Author Administrator More awards for Affleck and Argo! Damn, if Affleck was nominated for Best Director for the Oscars, it would be no contest that he would've won and that Argo would've won Best Picture. But since he wasn't nominated, there's still a chance Argo won't win Best Picture. November 17, 201312 yr Member Less than a month until the National Board of Review (December 4) announces their award winners for 2013. NBR always kick off award season, for those that don't know. Sorry to bring this thread back up, but I'm eagerly counting down the days.
