Vee, that's certainly true going back to the early '80s. The show just did a better job of maintaining a cozy, small town feel back then. The shift was more in tone than suddenly making Pine Valley a "big city". In the '80s, we started seeing the establishing shots of the huge homes that looked rather isolated by acreage, while we had middle and lower class homes, a very corporate downtown corridor, along with restaurants, shops, et cetera. In my mind, if you drew a small circle on a map containing bits of a couple Westchester towns, you could have a Pine Valley.

I always felt that JHC was not a good fit as EP for AMC. I think she did take them overbudget too, but I know Frons micromanaged all the shows big time. I wonder if they had moved AMC and OLTL in the 30 minute arc format that PC was (minus the vampire stuff) if the shows would still be on the air today.

Well the EPs before her, Behr, Carruthers, Burke actually had a history with the show. JHC did not.

I would LOVE to see All My Children come back in some shape or form, maybe as a limited run mini-series. Maybe an Afterschool Special.

I think IF either one were to return it'd be OLTL.

no cause it'd have like no budget and you know Frons would have used that even more as a way to cut the rest of the vets, we'd have all newbies all the time
