That's why it's difficult for me to come up with a list of actors/characters who could return (even in ghostly form) for Monica's funeral.  And in some cases, like with Chris Robinson (ex-Rick), it's probably best they don't return anyway, since this show has managed to character-assassinate so many people over the years.  So, I'll just settle for Denise Alexander and Billy Warlock* and leave it at that.

*Because, like hell Sean Kanan's ever coming back, lol.

Sean Kanan can always come back someday. Far worse bridges have been burnt in daytime. But I hesitate to use either his ghost or Emily's, because I would not intend to keep them dead.

I do think Denise is important if she's able to appear. And I would ask Amber, not Natalia.

I remember this promo from when I was a kid. Good times.

I should amend this - I would never ask nor expect Amber Tamblyn to return full time as Emily, her career and profile are too big for that now. But I would still ask her to appear in a tribute to Leslie regardless in some role, either as Emily's 'ghost' or a ringer character, like what they did so well with B.J./Brighton Hertford last year. You could still bring Emily back alive down the road with another actor, and any ghost appearance can be shrugged off the same as Ghost Jesse, etc. on AMC.

Amber is a better actress than Natalia, but I think she is so established as Emily and Ghost Emily - but I also think there's a way of having Amber return if willing so we could get some of the flashbacks of Emily with Monica from early in her run, before she spent all her time hurling abuse.

I think Amber will always be The Emily to most fans and is obviously much more famous. Not dissimilar to Jonathan as Lucky, really. Natalia has only appeared maybe once or twice as the ghost (not counting Nikolas' hallucinations), and while I had less issues with her tenure than other people her stories were often unpopular. I wouldn't begrudge Natalia appearing but my choice would be Amber, who had the deep onscreen relationship with Leslie.

I'm sure they'll do whatever they need to do to get Denise Alexander there. Out of all the memorials they done over the past decade, they've basically gone out of their way to make sure they get who they need there and involved however. The two big misses were Frisco at Sean's memorial and Luke being involved with Bobbie's, and the show couldn't really do much about either of those.

Outside of Denise Alexander, I'm sure they'll try to get one of the Emilys. She doesn't have much of a connection to the characters left, but I imagine they probably ask Robin Christopher.

I honestly though feel like between Tracy, Ned, Lois, and Jason for family and then Laura, Lucy, Felicia, Liz, and Anna, there's enough people to do a good memorial.

If she's well enough. I hope so, as she's appeared a fair amount over the last 5-10 years or so. (They went so far as to give Lesley that Italian lover.) I just remember that unfortunate and silly series of scenes in the Carlivati era in 2013 where Denise could clearly barely stand unassisted and they had geriatric Lesley sneaking into the hospital in a lab coat trying to peek at Luke's test results and getting caught by Monica. I get the intention (however goofy) but they didn't need to do that kind of camp with Denise also clinging to the set for dear life. So I hope she's still able.

Agreed.

    • The Saturday 8pm slot usually had the lowest rating of the NBC 4 sitcom lineup for some reason. NBC let Saturday night fizzle, They used 9.30 pm to launch 227 and Amen, both of which moved to earlier in the evening but they  kept Empty Nest following GG for several seasons.  Empty Nest should have moved to 8pm with their strongest new sitcom at 9.30, anticipating that GG would eventually falter. Instead they left them there and stretching the sitcom pool too thinly on other nights. When Grand talk over at 9.30 Thurs maybe Night Court and Wings could have been used on Saturday.
    • @Maxim Great to see your mini-reviews again. There are a number of clips on Youtube of Janice's slow mental breakdown. Christine Jones is just superb. She played the hell out of that role. Something which isn't referenced as much later on is how Mitch pushed Janice's doubts and mental instability for his own ends...until suddenly he didn't want to anymore (I guess he caught on with the audience and the show became wary). I don't want to post a bunch of clips, but this one has a very good confrontation between Rachel and Janice.

    • It really made Oscar the Doorman seem like an imbecile.   I think the show's unusual format & subject manner is what makes EON often seem less "dated" and "old-fashioned" than other shows from that time period.  It never attempted to be especially "trendy" or "modern" -- and its film noir style is pretty timeless.
    • Dallas, Dynasty, Knots and Falcon Crest all had good runs but by 85 they had seen better days. I think they were a victim of the format. After several seasons seeing the same characters front and center viewers were bored. What was once fascinating grew predictable. JR, Alexis etc had to be front and center and after a while their schemes and shtick grew repetitive. JR remarrying Sue Ellen, Alexis constantly trying to get he better of Blake etc Unlike daytime, there wasn't the flexibility to bring in other stories and characters and maybe let the likes JR go backburner. That same mentality also invaded daytime with characters like  Sonny and Victor still peddling the same stuff after decades. I guess the same could be said for MSW eg every week Jessica encounters a crime and solves it,but I think viewers come to that format with a different mindset.
    • Daphnee and Trisha did a live stream on Instagram and confirmed they find out if the show gets picked up in May. This pretty much confirms they're on the primetime schedule like the Bell soaps. Fingers crossed we get a multi-year renewal announcement soon!  https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJSsYb7PDv8/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
    • I don't think Lois the character was there.  The Lois we knew from the 90s has pretty much died with this  Gio story crap.
    • Have to agree re MM. The goody two shoes character and writing doesn't help but maybe a more dynamic actor would help Brandon lift his game also. I found the song sequence a little OTT. First of all it should have been shorter and maybe the song fades out and just some music to accompany the montage. I think it would have worked better if Anita had have been alone after everyone left and started tinkling leading into the song, with Vernon coming in observing and then joining her for  a close moment. Everyone standing around felt a little too much. And that closing effect with the two blackscreens meeting was unnecessary. Just a fade out would have been enough.

    • And sadly I think that’s the trivia Both Jeanne Cooper and Eric Braeden went with for years and years. Lol
    • But people were hating so bad on amc and the final year and the ratings sucked. Business wise they made the right call. Oltl who even gained some ratings back and weren’t they higher as GH at one point is a decision and never understood.
