@JAS0N47 sorry if this is a pesky question, but are you planning to add the charts for 1993-1995 to your website? So far it goes up to just 1992. Again forgive me if I’m just impatient but it’s just nice to go to your page for an easy access to the charts without searching on here sometimes. lol

Yes the rating  charts you have up to 1995 I believe, they just weren’t on the archived weekly charts page on your days website like 90-92 are.

sorry again for being a pest. Haha, I really appreciate all you’ve done!

No, you're not a pest at all!    I guess I just never remembered to add those to the site. I was more focused on the 70s and 80s stuff, but since we are in a lull now until 1973 arrives, here is 1993. As you can see, it's been quickly done. Just have to cut/paste the 26 chart images, and voila, the 1993 page is born!    I'll get to 1994/1995 throughout the day. 1993 took less than 10 minutes to do, so it's not a time-consuming ask from you!!

IN RE: Ralph Ellis Search for Tomorrow Collection at Syracuse University Libraries

Update: rec'd email reply 1-22. They have 7 large boxes of scripts, arranged in order by date & episode #. They will spend an hour looking for something for you. For anything more it needs someone to go in person or you can hire an independent researcher to act on your behalf & they have a list.

My impression: Frankly, I'm favorably impressed. 1. Their email reply & its timeframe. 2. They seem accustomed to dealing with people remotely who have different questions about Search for Tomorrow.

BTW, is any one of us from Syracuse?

Also, as to topicality, sorry. I know this isn't about ratings but it came up here. After this, I'm going to move it to the "Errors" topic so it won't continue being off-topic here.

Appreciate all the hardwork, Jason. I've used your pages to verify and correct pre-emptions and air dates on the AWHP. Not sure if they will be forthcoming, but I'm curious about which soaps were pre-empted on December 19, 1972 for the Apollo 17 Return/Splashdown. From my own research, it looks like Days of Our Lives and The Doctors was pre-empted. However, according to my research of the Another World scripts, they don't seem to account for a pre-emption on that day. However, two dates from early January 1973 seem to be randomly skipped. I'm also unsure of pre-emption from February 5 or 6, 1973. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's great to hear!  Always happy when my research helps other soaps!!

The dark week is 12/25/72-12/31/72, so 12/19/72 will hopefully be available. I know the 1972/1973 years have some additional books missing, which will affect some of the Watergate preemption data, but I think we will eventually have most of Watergate at least.

Here's what I have for pre-emptions in 1973. From what I've learned, by June or July 1973, TPTB got sick of all the pre-emptions due to Watergate, so they started rotating them by network instead of pre-empting all soaps. Here's what I have for Days and Another World, probably The Doctors as well:

May 17, 18, 22, 23, 24, 1973: Watergate Senate Hearings
June 5 and 12, 1973: Watergate Senate Hearings
June 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 1973: Watergate Senate Hearings
July 11, 16, 19, 24, and 27, 1973: Watergate Senate Hearings
August 1 and 6, 1973: Watergate Senate Hearings
September 25, 1973: Watergate Senate Hearings
October 8, 9, and 10, 1973: American League Playoffs
October 15, 1973: Watergate Senate Hearings

It seems like there was a pre-emption for Another World in early November 1973, but I'm not sure. Well, aside from November 22, 1973. I don't think the two January 1973 were really pre-emption as I can't find a legitimate reason. Unfortunately, the air dates listed by the university archivist and/or the credits pages of the script don't always account for pre-emptions. Unfortunately, this happened a lot within the Another World script collections in October despite the World Series and/or Playoffs making it so it didn't air.

Checking additional sources, President Truman's funeral was 12/28/72, supposedly aired from 3-430PM, which was during a dark week, so we will never know the exact length. The previous day, 12/27/72, I have Days listed as being preempted for his funeral, but checking more into it, that preemption was actually for his procession to lie in state. Aired from 2-3PM and picked back up at 4PM, so looks like AW most likely aired on 12/27 but not on 12/28.

President Johnson's funeral was 1/25/73 from 1-4PM, so that would account for a 2nd AW preemption during the 12/27/72-1/25/73 time frame.

So, Another World wasn't pre-empted on 12/28, but not 12/19/72 for the Apollo 17 Return and Splashdown? Looks like the coverage may have been long enough to pre-empt Days and The Doctors, but not Another World.

Also, from research I've done, The Doctors and Another World may have been Pre-empted on February 6, October 15, and November 7, 1973, but I'm not 100% sure of the dates and reasons. Likely, the had to do with Watergate, or the energy crisis. It doesn't look like the above three days affected Days though.

Have you tried this site? It is sometimes helpful, though doesn't have everything. If you pick a month and scroll to the bottom, they have a bunch of special programming. I think the times listed are central timezone though.

I had a quick look and couldn't find anything for your dates above. But might be worth a look anyway.
