Sadly, even when most of my generation is aware of whats going on in the world around us we do not tend to care much. It is slightly like we are robots honestly, void of emotion for almost anything. We are so desensitized and nothing shocks us, everything is just kind of "Oh it happens."

People became both complacent and disillusioned, which is an interesting mix. Always dangerous for a democracy. And that stands for Western Europe just as much as North America.

You know, for years people dreaded those scary totalitarian regimes of 1984, V for Vendetta, A Handmaid's Tale etc. yet somehow the let the ideals of Brave New World and Network slip by which is ironic because that is what we are becoming and have paralleled for quite some time now.

I think the media is in cahoots with the government to not discuss the real story of wikileaks. These documents show that Saudi Arabia funds Al Quaeda, wants Iran to go but wants the US to do it so it can fuel more hatred and more Al Quaeda which they will fund. Then they turn around and demand military aid because they sell us oil, and we spend all our money fighting these people they finance, buying their oil and defending them while they finance the people we fight and fan the flames of hatred in this never ending circle of their design. It makes no sense. Meanwhile, all the government and the media can talk about is how these documents were leaked. What is in the documents no one seems to be interested in.

Same thing for China. China wants No Korea gone, but refuses to help the US. Meanwhile the US pretends they are in honest negotiations with China and six party talks they know is a sham. No one is talking about that. Instead they want to hunt the wiki guy down because he had the nerve to shed light on this insane foreign policy.

Spain wanted to indict Cheney in absentia on torturing or unjustified imprisonment of Spanish terror suspects, and the Obama administration worked to get that case derailed even though there seemed to have been enough for the Spanish courts to proceed. Why?

With all these things coming to light, who cares about the private or the wikileaks guy? Why is the media not examining the real story: the story of what is in those documents? And the cattle that is the American public just falls in line and ignores everything.
