He seems to think he'll be OK. I hope he is. I can't imagine what this must be like for his family, and for poor Kirk.

:( That's horrible news. My thoughts are with him, CZJ, and their fam.

I've had close relatives who've battled throat cancers. One had to have a laryngectomy, the other with cancer of the esophagus had a radical surgery where the esophagus was removed/reconstructed bringing the stomach far up into the chest. I wish him all the best, it is survivable but there may be some serious measures that have to be taken.
