Clark is underwhelming, bland, and has no emotion. At her best she was mediocre.

Sweeney is by no means a master thespian, however she brings passion and emotes more than one thing. The only real time the show has given her anything meaty to play was Graces death/Sydney reveal and she rocked it. She really brought it.

But Clark is only half the issue with Carrie. Carrie was the Marlena of gen x, true. Sadly she was the boring, bland, perfect saint Marlena, not the interesting layered complex women Marlena had been. Sure, it could be blamed on the writing but that show propped her up and gave her enough chances and story. Once she out of a triangle with Austin and Sami she was utterly pointless.

I will admit a Carrie/Anna scene would be nice. I wouldnt really care, but it would be nice. Altho since they glossed over any issue between the two off screen whats the point? And if they were to try and bring carrie back and give her an edge people would complain about how out of character she is.

Clark also gets the benefit of not having been front and center for well over 15 years now. When you have far less story, scenes, etc its much easier for you to be remembered fondly than when you have crap.

Carrie is pretty far down on the list of characters who need to come back tho, IMHO. to start with, jenn is MUCH more needed.

Now Austin? Id take him back any day. Austin/Sami <3

Well that's the most logical choice. Clark can act, Sweeney can not.

I think the apocalypse is nigh....I actually agree with you! Not only that, I. RESPECT. YOUR. OPINION!!!!!! :o :o :o

Now that would have been a great storyline having Carrie have a loveless relationship with her birth mother who was never there for her.

This is what I wanted to see. Anna and Carrie have not been on the show together at the same time since what, 1986?

Heh Savannah was pretty much a pre-Kristen in hatred for Marlena wasn't she? I believe she went around calling her "St. Marlena" and other snide insults and was pretty much unsympathetic to Marlena's various troubles ie. Stefano, Richard Cates, John/Roman, kidnapping etc.

Is any of Savannah on Youtube? I only remember Shannon Tweed from stuff like Scorned. Savannah was some sort of dealer in drugs or black market something or music wasn't she?

I hope carrie returns with Austin they could take over TItan from Phillip. but i think your right Jen Deveraux is needed more than Carrie but maybe there is room for both carrie and jen.

To clarify an earlier post, Clark wasn't ousted back in 1999. She chose to leave when her contract was up to take time off and go back to school, being as she was on the show for pretty much her whole adolescence into adulthood. It's a shame too, because she was more front and center at the time than Sami is today.

I will always concur that Clark is the better actress out of the Brady sisters. Some called her bland, I called her understated. She never had to scream, become manic or chew the scenery like Sweeney does. (In fact, it seems that these three "methods" are the only means in which Sweeney can emote). I'm grateful that the Emmys noticed Clark's talent with her back to back Emmy noms.

I'm the biggest CC fan I know, and this board knows it. I don't deny it. But there's no glossing over the fact that she's an incredibly talented and beloved veteran from the show and I think that with Anna back, it would be a perfect time for her to be introduced. I'd love it for her to appear as a witness for the prosecution out of the blue to testify against her mother for aiding in Sydney's kidnapping. Not only that, I'd love them to clarify why exactly she and EJ immediately recognized each other when he first appeared on the show. (Anyone remember that brief encounter?)

At any rate, she was a "goody goody victim" all the time, thanks to JERk. Although, I give him props for making her grow a pair and deck Sami on two separate occassions. But she wasn't a saint. She committed adultery with Mike and it ate her alive.I do love how her sinful act brought her and Marlena even closer as Marlena could relate. (Their relationship was incredible, and they were a more believable mother and daughter pair than Marlena and Sami.)

I would LOVE for her to come back, with our without Austin. If its meant to be, it will be. Corday always adored her, so you never know. And if she does return, I pray its not a debacle like the Reilly penned return of 2006.

I agree. Carrie's relationship with Marlena was always much more authentic and loving than Sami's relationship with Marlena. Marlena was more of a mother to Carrie than Anna, which is why I'm not one of the people clamoring to see Carrie interact with her bio-mom.

Christie's performance as Carrie has always been understated and not over the top. Sami is an over the top, ridiculous, bombastic character, which is why people think she's a good actress: because she's loud and gets noticed. But Christie is very good at delivering a quiet, naturalistic performance. I always rooted for her. Carrie was (and is) a good person even though she committed adultery. That "sin" is mild compared to Sami's rape of Austin, several attempts at murder, lying to Lucas and Austin about Will's paternity, blackmailing Kate, and all her other crimes.

Don't you think that would be good material for Carrie, the problematic relationship with her biological mother? They will never be hearts and flowers, which is good drama.

ABSOLUTELY agree. Things are okay on the surface, but it would be awesome to see Carrie finally confront (onscreen) her mother about why she chose the glamorous life over being a good mother. Hell, she practically gave her away to Marlena so that she could go off on a world wide tour of riches and luxuries.

It'd be fitting too, because when EJ was pretending that Sydney was dead, you could see the subtle nuances in Leann's performances every time Carrie was mentioned. It's about time Anna starts to regret not being the mother that she should have been, IMO.

It could be juicy, I suppose. And Carrie could pop in without Austin as long as it's established that they're still married and happy (but I don't like couples returning without their spouses---look at Justin and Adrienne, and even Carly and Lawrence [and based on Christie's blog comments, I imagine Austin Peck would return alongside her anyway]).

Anna was never there for Carrie during all the drama in her life (1992-99 and 2005-6). Anna should hate Sami for hurting Carrie.
