Yeah... let's hope that nobody falls for Rachel and Sophia's crap.
I also thought it was a little strange that today was the start of a new day in Salem as opposed to being a continuation of yesterday's episode. I don't like the storyline but I would rather have seen Brady confronting his awful kid then hearing him talk about it with Marlena. And we really should have seen Sophia today.
As much as I liked Marlena and Brady being at odds over everything that happened, I also liked that Brady finally feels comfortable enough to confide in her and ask for her advice. But I still think that the two of them being at odds would've worked better if it had been tied to John's death and their grief. Marlena reassuring Brady that he wouldn't be letting John down if he left Basic Black was really nice as well. I wonder where Brady's gonna end up working... or if he's ever gonna get his own place 😂😂
But I enjoyed Sarah and Xander's argument about Brady, and each other. Paul Telfer and Lindsey Godfrey work so well together, even when Xander and Sarah are fighting or are not together. They've come such a long way. Xander did bring up a lot of good points about Sarah today, points that could play into future storylines. I think what worked the most in their scenes today was that there didn't seem to be a good guy - bad guy dynamic in them. Both Xander and Sarah came off pretty much as equally flawed, instead of it being biased in favor of one of them, which works better sometimes, IMO. And I liked that Maggie also brought up the same points to Sarah, later on. And while I don't mind Sarah/Brady, I am looking forward to seeing how she and Xander find their way back to each other.
And I did kinda feel bad for Jeremy though, both because he saw Alex and Stephanie's announcement and because he had to spend time with Brady's awful kid. Even if I liked the character of Rachel, I feel like those scenes wouldn't have worked. I'd rather he had another scene with Julie... or finally have been confronted by Stephanie, Alex, Steve, Jada, somebody. I get that they want him to be a red herring, but all of this feels so low energy.
