Can't believe it's been almost 30 years. I still remember that quote he had, basically saying the 70s weren't great, but the 80s were brand new and could be better. If only he had known. He was a fighter for so many causes, and boy, that decade sure could have used him.

They had that silly attempt at remaking the Rolling Stone cover he was on, and it just reminded me of how unique he was.

i still miss him

I still remember exactly where I was and what I was thinking at the time that I heard the news that he had been shot.

I had taken my youngest brother to the dentist and he was in the chair getting his teeth checked out and I was trying to think of a way to get out of the office as the dentist is one place I really do hate to be.

I was on the way home in a tram when the news came through that he had died.
