It has something to do with the government and impersonating Princess Cassie with Jeff O'Neill. It's CRAY CRAY.

It's funny that I can't remember if I cut out of GL before Jeffrey appeared or if I just memory-holed him completely.

Because they're not really together in '07-'08. '07, she was on maternity leave for a couple of months, and Jack and Katie get together (I PUKE just typing that.) Carly comes home (long story), tries to get Jack back, and he gets sick of her games. She then gets sick and is told she's going to die. (She's been misdiagnosed.) She and Jack briefly reunite, but then she's told she's not going to die, but doesn't tell Jack. (long story) '08 has Wally Kurth in a short term role of a guy who's obsessed with Carly and nearly rapes her. She and Jack work to clear Parker, but Jack then starts screwing Janet (played by Julie Pinson), his brother Brad's babymomma (AGAIN...PUKE) Jon Lindstrom shows up at the end of '08 as Craig. (MORE PUKING.)

Anyway, even though Jack and Carly aren't togethertogether they are constantly intertwined in each other's lives. The good news, you can see Carly/Jack from beginning to end. Most ATWT episodes are up from '97 (when Maura returns) to the end. Carly and Jack start working their way back to each other in late '09 when Maura returns from another maternity leave.

Only Maura is on for a year-ish, from '95-'96. She left to give birth to her first bambino.

Yeah, I don't watch a lot of Moniz, so I don't remember if she really interacts much with Bryan Buffinton's Bill. I would guess not, as they really cut back his airtime after they recast Michelle with Budig. I think Bryan's last scenes were around Maureen's birth, and Ryan Brown shows up that fall.

Haha - not a great year for you, I see :) But yes, I'm excited that her entire run on ATWT is available out there. I have a site bookmarked with all those videos for when that day comes. Strangely the SON Vault doesn't have ATWT, being the only CBS soap not included. I've always wondered why.

You're right about Dinah/Bill in the 90s - their interaction is pretty limited. You usually only see them together when Vanessa 'dies', returns back from the dead, and is in critical condition while having Maureen. That's about it, strangely.

Interesting, so after all those years, she's still terrorizing poor Cassie LOL :)

Oh, '06 to '09 is a pretty bad stretch for Carly/Jack fans. And Michael and Maura play the subtle angsty moments like freakin' PROs.

With Dinah/Bill---you got the sense that Dinah resents Vanessa and Bill's bond, while Moniz was in the role, and resents Maureen at first too. Bill has changed by the time he really has scenes with Tognoni, and she loves him but at times really thinks he's ungrateful for all her hard work in their various schemes.

Rachel Miner is so good during this period. She’s so torn up between losing her mother and instinctively covering for Ed for something she doesn’t fully understand. It’s eating her alive but she knows it will blow things up for her dad if she ever says anything about Lilian.

Was Rachel Miner conventionally pretty? No. But, like with Jada Rowland on THE SECRET STORM, viewers had become so attached to the young actress and her amazing, note-perfect performances that replacing her (especially with Rebecca [!@#$%^&*] Budig) still seems unthinkable.

All so they can shove Michelle into a bad teen scene with characters no one GAFF about. Apologies, @alwaysAMC at least Bethany Joy Lenz was sympathetic in the role, even if she was stuck with the mob.

That's it. I grew to accept Budig, and she certainly didn't get Miner fired, but she was a more typical network choice when Miner was very unique. And while Joie Lenz was a good fit for the part, the writing for Michelle remained generic for all of the character's run.

It was tough to see what became of Michelle and Bill in the late '90s after they both felt like vital characters in the early '90s and you thought the future had so many possibilities.

I have a lot of complaints about British soaps, but I do like that they often keep the child actor in the role (unless the kid is clearly incapable).

Haha all good, based on what I've heard about Miner's storyline/performance before I started watching, I get it. And I don't mind living on my Budig/Michelle island alone :)

I really do think once Michelle got past Budig's first year, and she met Jesse, the story was really good. I thought Budig and Benedeti had strong chemistry, and it didn't hurt that Benedeti was sexy in his first year. I'm finding that I'm not as into him right now in 1999. He's letting his hair grow out, which is fine, but he's lost that sparkle for me for some reason. I don't know if he just wasn't into it anymore or what. I'm curious what Benedeti is up to now and if he and Budig kept any sort of friendship up over the years, considering they were each other's first big soap opera coupling. I'm sure that sort of bonds you in some way.

I’m up to March 22, 1999.

*I got a big shock with a major return I wasn't expecting!

A free Annie wants to have her first meal at the diner, where she sees Beth and they acknowledge her freedom (Beth hasn’t been too involved with Annie since the recast came in). Meanwhile, outside of the diner, Phillip threatens Alan by saying he’ll find a way to put him back in jail if he doesn’t fix the Lewis Oil situation. Phillip and Beth leave, and Annie excitedly tells Alan how they need to get married, even suggesting going to Vegas that night. Alan gets stern with her, saying he won’t be marrying her any time soon, until he is finally convinced that she is over Josh. She can still live in the Spaulding mansion, but she has work to do, which upsets Annie.

Blake visits Holly and they talk about how Ben used Blake and she wants nothing to do with him anymore. Holly says she bets he’ll be back in her bed by tonight LOL. Holly reflects on how similar they are, drawn to men that will do anything to get what they want (Roger and Ben). Meanwhile, Ben goes to Lewis Oil and demands the super to change the CEO name plaque out from Josh to him. Phillip then shows up and smugly tells Ben that Spaulding owns Lewis and he owns majority stake in Spaulding, so Ben is out. Ben said they have a contract and he got Annie off free, but Phillip says technically no, she got 5 years probation and she wasn’t officially  found not guilty. On his way out, Alan shows up and Ben grabs him and threatens him to fix this or he’ll go public with everything he knows, but Alan doesn’t seem to be phased which ultimately pleases Phillip. Ben then stops by Holly’s room and waits for Blake to leave, and then starts crying to Blake that he decided to give up on Lewis Oil because he loves her and doesn’t want to lose her (lies), but Blake finally says no, she would rather be alone than deal with him again.

Friends of Reva/Josh throw them a party to get them out of their slump post-Annie’s trial. Jim finally gets the courage to ask Beth on a proper date and she accepts. Matt is also there and he finally stands up to Bill’s bitching about how he treats his mother. Meanwhile, we finally see that Vanessa and Maureen are staying with Ross, which I love to see. Ross reminds her that she’s the president of the Second Chances club and should rethink her position with Matt, and Vanessa says he could use his own advice with his situation with Blake, but he comments how she’s already on her 4th chance LOL. He tries to get Vanessa to go to the party, but she said that wouldn’t be right considering the Dinah thing (knowing Cassie is there). He gets her to promise that she’ll call Matt and let him know they’re safe, so she agrees and calls Matt after he leaves, but gets Matt’s answering machine and hangs up. At the party, Ross initially tells Matt that he hasn’t heard from Vanessa, but when Matt tells him what happened with the time mix-up at the Towers, Ross realizes they need to be together and asks Matt to follow him. Sadly when they get to Ross’s, Vanessa is already gone and she left a note for Ross, saying it’s best that she not tell him where she’s going.

Back at the party, Phillip arrives and tells Josh privately that he’s gotten rid of Ben and his plan is to work together and get Lewis Oil back on their feet. We then see Annie standing outside, looking in at Reva from the window, who turns around and then sees her. Annie leaves but says to herself that she’ll have everything that Reva has - a husband who loves her, children, etc - and she’ll die trying.

The next morning, Matt logs into the poetry chatroom and hopes he can reach her that way again. Vanessa opens her computer and contemplates logging in. She finally logs in and writes up a goodbye message, saying she’s giving up poetry and this will be her last message and ends it with ‘Goodbye Robert, my one true love’ (awww). Matt sees the message and quickly types out to Vanessa, saying he loves her, but she doesn’t see it. Matt finds Bill and apologizes to him and asks for his help in finding his mom again, like he did back in 1997 through the internet. Bill agrees and they run off to find her, meanwhile she’s writing him an actual letter and flashes back to their early days as a couple when he professed his love to her and they kissed. But, she ends the letter by saying it’s time to move on and she says goodbye to him.

Jesse surprises Drew by bringing over the lady that was friend’s with her mother who she called prior and said she wasn’t adopted. She opens up and says she lied because her parents didn’t want her knowing the truth, but she confirms that Drew really was adopted. She tells her the full story and says they had planned to tell her, but when Drew’s mother died, her father felt like it was too much to handle already and the secret was going to remain buried. The lady leaves and Drew unleashes on Jesse, saying she hates him for doing this. Meanwhile at the diner, Selena and Buzz are bickering over how she doesn’t want him to tell Drew the truth about being her birth mother. Selena mentions she cares for Buzz, which makes him pause. He reflects with her that they have become close friends and lean on each other a lot, but he has no intention of having anything beyond a friendship because it’s too soon after Jenna’s death. Selena gets upset with him for thinking she was coming onto him and she brings up being a former stripper again, which Buzz puts a stop to. They calm down and Buzz says for what it’s worth, he cares for Selena too. He leaves and Jesse comes by and tells Selena about the lady telling Drew she’s adopted. Selena freaks out and the two rush off to find Drew.

Michelle has been living with Rick/Abby now to keep up the ruse about her sight going away again. Danny starts pressuring her to see a different doctor/specialist, but she’s finally fed up with lying and tells him the truth - she can see and she was the one who called the FBI. He gets upset with her and says he can’t look at her anymore, leaving Michelle sad and Rick/Abby confused as to what’s happening. At the Bauer house, Rick pressures her to tell them everything, so she tells them certain things, but not the full truth. Abby says as long as she can promise them she’s no longer in danger, then they’ll support her. Meta overhears and corners Michelle privately and says she knows there’s more to the story, which Michelle finally opens up to her about being scared for her life because of Carmen. Meta helps her realize that she’s probably in love with Danny. Back at Millennium, Drew and Danny get drunk together to commiserate and then head up to the group loft. Selena and Jesse arrive looking for Drew and Selena starts to realize that Jesse cares for and is falling in love with Drew. At the loft, Danny tries to figure out if she knew about Michelle and the FBI and Drew says she’s not scared of him. She tells him about her adoption thing and he talks about his family problems and they say to hell with parents, family, Michelle/Jesse and everyone. They start kissing passionately and taking each other’s clothes off (it was pretty hot)! The next scene we see them in bed, post-sex and Drew starts to freak out about what they did. She begs him not to tell anyone, just as Jesse is about to open the door and catch them. Danny hides in the bathroom and Jesse says he’s worried about her and wants to make sure she’s ok, but finds a man’s wallet on the ground and gets suspicious, thinking she slept with someone. He gets upset and storms out, while Drew cries and Danny comes out and says Jesse really cares for her. Back downstairs, Jesse tells Selena about her hooking up with another guy and then leaves. Selena then sees Danny come downstairs and confronts Drew about sleeping with him. Drew cries and Selena supports her, but then Drew asks Selena to help her find her birth mother. She plans to ruin ‘that bitch’s life’, which upsets Selena and makes her torn on what to do.

Holly’s hearing is about to begin and Cassie joins Blake to support her. The two of them plan to speak on behalf of the mothers who think she should be let go because they know why she did it all and she never would have physically hurt the children (seems like a bit of a convenient 180). Holly doesn’t believe it and thinks she should go through with her punishment. Buzz is there and stares Holly down, saying he wants her to burn, which Holly understands. Most of this is because he holds her responsible for Jenna’s death. He lashes out, but eventually says that if Jenna were here, she would forgive Holly and so he must do the same. He grabs her in a big hug and they both sob. This was actually a very well-acted scene. It wasn’t too over the top for Deas and it was quite emotional. Blake then pleads to the judge, but he says the crime is too big to not go to trial. Holly then says she wants to waive her right to an attorney and she’s responsible for the pain she’s caused, and OMG, in walks Fletcher Reade (3/19)! He says no Holly, if there is anyone to blame, it’s him. WOW! I had no idea Fletcher was coming back, that was a great surprise for me and I’m glad to see that man come back and face what he’s emotionally and mentally done to Holly. Ross and Reva (why?) come in and Ross reveals he found Fletcher in hopes this would finally turn her around. Holly then faints, but they get her awake and others come in and they start pleading with the judge to let Holly free. Buzz, Harley, and Reva all talk about making mistakes in life and needing second chances (haha), also talking about how they’ve gone through periods in life without their kids and how it was horrible, so they understand why Holly was crazy for losing Meg. Blake then tells Holly she’s a good person and begs the judge to let her go, but then Ben walks in asking why no one called him. Oh boy. Blake says he can’t take his anger towards her out on her mother. Ben tells his story about Holly drugging him and almost dying, but then he changes his tune and becomes a white knight by saying “with love, everyone deserves a second chance”, stunning Blake and Holly. Fletcher then speaks and says it’s his fault and asks Holly for forgiveness. He apologizes to everyone and says if anyone should be going to prison, it should be him. The judge, persuaded by Fletcher’s words, allows Holly to stay in a mental facility for 3 months, which after will allow her to potentially be free. Privately, Fletcher tells Holly he is so sorry for leaving, but he felt she was going to leave him for Roger and he couldn’t let Roger raise Meg, but he realizes he was wrong. She asks about Meg and he says she’s doing great and can ride a tricycle. Holly gets upset and says she should be witnessing these milestones and then lays into Fletcher for taking it all away from her. She then tells him the truth that she would have left him for Roger had she gotten to Roger before he married Amanda.

I understand the realities, but there was just so much history walking out the door with Bryan and Rachel. I don't understand why they didn't let them hang out in high school and have high school problems and recreate the original Four Musketeers by adding another strong female teen character. Barely a blink later, the perpetually youthful Susan/Daisy showed up. (And no, the fourth can't be Susan/Daisy, she's biologically related to both Bill and Ben. She's Bill's niece and Ben's...2nd cousin?)

LORD lead me not into temptation.

But YEAH...love that Vanessa/Ross scene. And spoiler alert---Vanessa and Cassie have issues going forward (at least every once in a while). I wish Van would've given her an icy stare and said "yes, I'm sure you regret Hart's death. Princess." *drop mike*

I would be okay with an early SORAS of Marina at that point since Frank/Eleni were hanging out on the canvas without much to do anyhow. Though I’m sure there would be all kinds of possibilities like a sudden niece/nephew like Bridget was who really worked out.

It was a great scene and a bit of a welcome surprise to see that Ross was taking care of her. Not surprised at all about Van/Cassie - definitely makes sense. Curious to see how it all plays out! LOL at the Princess line, had she had a crystal ball, it would have been so juicy. I'm assuming Cassie's next romance with this prince, king or whatever he is makes her totally forget about Hart haha. I just hope they don't completely forget about RJ and her being a mom to a newborn!
